Ashamed of my legs for 35 years and I'm glad to see women educating one another... Dropping this little peice of info I just read. I have other inflammatory conditions too and it makes sense to try ... "Keto Diet Supports Lipedema Management Scientific evidence also supports a ketogenic diet for lipedema. Ketogenic eating encourages the body to rely on protein and fats rather than carbohydrates for energy, which avoids the inflammation state of lipedema by controlling glycemic peaks. A 2021 study provides a general plan for managing lipedema with a keto diet. It involves limiting carbohydrate intake to less than 25 grams per day (though this can vary), maintaining an even ratio of proteins to fats, having a high intake of vegetables, and minimizing sugar intake. This keto eating plan also involves drinking plenty of water, which aids digestion and other processes within the body."
Watching this makes me so happy for you. I’ve that Dr Burgos is incredible. I’m from the states and had my surgery last October with Dr Thomas Su. He’s a an artist, literally (he has a master’s in fine arts) and figuratively. It’s life changing and I’m seriously so happy for you! It only gets better!
@@discoverIntelligence Dr Thomas Su is out of Tampa. He has been doing lipedema surgery for 20 years. He trained in Germany with a world-renowned Lipedema surgeon. I’m from Mass and got diagnosed in MA prior to me finding him.
Been watching you since literally day 1 and I am so happy that you’re happy and can finally feel confident in your own skin!! Been lovely to watch your journey all these years 🥰
I haven’t watched this yet. I will hopefully one day. I have watched your first video and so happy you have got the help you needed for your diagnosis. I too have lipedema and living in Manchester UK and the support from the NHS is really demoralising 🥺 I have managed to get compression stockings for my legs through my specialist but for me, despite being stage 3, the shelf above my buttocks is worse area I am most insecure about and they say they have nothing able to support me with that. I know liposuction is what I need also but as you know it’s not available on NHS for cosmetic reasons despite impacted mobility and in no way can I afford. So one day I would like to watch this video when I have fought for the right help on the NHS, but for now just came to say it’s so refreshing to see you so happy, feeling confident and commend you on your bravery on sharing your story and working hard to be able to be in position to have the treatment. 🫶 I’ve never seen lipedema spoken about so openly and I watched your first vid in tears knowing someone understood so thank you 🫶 I will watch this one day xxxxxxx
you got my hopes so high right now. been investigating where to have my surgery for so long and I may have found the place. Thank you Gabriella and wish you well in this lippy journey
I’m so happy to have found your videos! I’m in the US and have lipedema. Both upper and lower extremities. I will be researching your doctor as he sounds really knowledgeable. I’ve always hated my legs and arms and could t understand why they hurt. Thank you for spreading awareness. Cheers to you on your recovery. It’s a scary thought to travel so far for surgery.
Your mum is such a bloody angel. Also (as a nurse) I’ve never seen someone look so good after surgery! 😂❤ you’re glowing and so happy. I’m here for it my angel xxxxx
I started this video before and ended up starting something else. Im so happy i came back. The doctors page is beautiful along with the price. Im in the US and they want at least 20k for this surgery and they dont leave any curves. Im going to him!
Such a vulnerable vlog ❤️ I'm super happy for you that you finally got this surgery done! 🫂 You are so strong after all you have been through health-wise and surgery-wise over the years. I've been here all those years rooting and cheering on my side of the screen 🥰 I hope your recovery are going the absolute best it can! ❤️
I don't know why I thought you were going on your own, but I'm really glad your mum accompanied you to Spain so you weren't alone after the operation. Also thanks for sharing your journey with us.
I've no idea how your videos came up on my home page because I've never searched on YT for this topic its always been Instagram and I was actually following the DR you recommended! which is fab! I've never been diagnosed with Lipoedema but im 99% sure have it, I'm slim overall but very cellulite, flabby, saddle bag thighs, and cankles, they just never tone! my legs look very similar to yours. Hope you post more videos about your journey and recovery! x
I'm so glad that you finally were able to get this first surgery and that you're feeling well! I'm so happy that you enjoyed Madrid! I've been living there for the past year and I've got to say it is a gorgeous city indeed! So if you ever come back and need a tour guide just let me know!🤣🤣
thankyou for sharing your experience, i’ve followed your content for so many years and have had multiple big surgeries myself - it makes me so happy to know you feel that same feeling I had when you’re getting close to the end of recovery and your body is becoming yours again 🥺🥰 very pretty flowers too 😇 x
I'm so happy that you have such good support on this journey. So happy for you, and I hope your medical problems will get better soon! Ps. Just love your glasses
Love the flowers your girlfriend sent you!! 😍 You look and seem so much more confident!!!! Cannot wait to see you get more confident and love yourself more 🥰❤️
You are beautiful. So pleased for you and your surgery. New follower here. Lovely specs and adorable Mum! Too bad the hosiery do not have a porthole for body needs!
So glad you were able to get through the surgery, covid, and the other incident! I'm sure it has been a difficult time, but if you were at least able to find out what the issue is, I know that must be relieving and a huge step towards hopefully fixing the issue! Wishing you a quick rest of your recovery! 💜💜
How amazing that you got this surgery! Delighted for you 💗 goes to show it’s so important to advocate for yourself, trust your gut about your own body and prioritize your own health 🙌🏻💗
Currently recovering from my own pretty painful lipedema leg surgery and the first month has passed. Happiness is supposed to happen in roughly 2 months according to my physical therapist. It’s so disgusting to have no feeling in your calves and shins. Recovery was hard and painful too 😖 🎉BIG BIG THANKS TO YOU 🙏 What’s incredibly important is to raise awareness, everywhere people suffer, 10% of the female population roughly, and I have encountered the harshest and most unhelpful doctors in my life! Especially gynaecologists who are supposed to be on our side! This is voluntary surgery we pay for ourselves, but that does not mean we do not have a medical diagnosis. The bloody alternative are more costly compression garments which get covered by health insurance but are making a normal happy life impossible when you are stage 2 and up, plus you have your legs and arms affected. 😢 any “female” conditions such as endometriosis or fibromyalgia come with so much stigma, bias, lack of knowledge ans understanding 😢 the ignorance of the majority of practitioners is outrageous. So many things were done differently in your post care than in mine -so again thank you for sharing. ❤ I am curious what you will share about dietary guidelines to help with the life-long challenge that lipedema is for all of us.
You look glowing! You can tell just after this first surgery how much happier you seem! I’m so happy for you, having watched since you first started TH-cam, it’s amazing❤️
So so Happy for you Gabby so lovely to see your big beautiful smile it must feel like a huge weight being lifted off your shoulders finally having answers to all these medical conditions and getting to the bottom of it so glad your surgery went well & best of luck for the next ones ❤ will continue to watch your videos as always you are the most genuine & down to earth TH-camr on here lots of love xx
Lol you are so adorable it's pronounced pie-yay-ah. I am so thrilled for you to have been able to have this done. Your confidence is going to go through the roof. Super excited to see how much your mental health improves as well. Health problems effect my mental health so much. You've been absolutely glowing lately! ♥
So my legs are about 3x the size of yours. I’m desperate for this surgery but how many surgeries are there? And is each one a different cost? Glad you’re feeling better and enjoying your new legs!
So pleased to hear your surgery went well chick, legs are looking amazing already! And you're just looking and seeming so much happier in general which is really lovely :) xxx
I definitely have this condition and am saving for the surgery, did you get diagnosed by an NHS GP? I would love to have it before I turn 30 as my legs have always been a major issue for me. My granny also has this and has been in a wheelchair from age 65 due to the lack of knowledge/nhs resources there is for this disease in the UK! It’s great you are spreading awareness 🫶
So happy you're feeling more confident with your body Gabbie! I can't think of anyone who deserves it more after all these years! P.s really appreciated the accessibility review of Madrid x
Its so weird to see you walking around my old neighborhood! Stayed there for 8 years 😮 if you ever go back, try out the sweets at Oliver Nichols in Santisima Trinidad street!
I have lipedema stage 2 as well. It was diagnosed 1,5 years ago. Finally I've got clarity on what I have.. All I wanna do is have these surgery's as well but I can't afford them yet :(
God bless you, Gabi❤! I have also the same legs😢and have to do also the same surgery😢 it's painful to the touch, I can't move fast, and I don't wear clothes that show my legs because I don't have shaped knees and ankles😢Hope my legs coms also good after that surgery😊
I noticed this video is from few months ago. How are you doing now? What made you decide to go to Madrid? I am considering flying out to Madrid to have my op but I am also thinking Germany. It is a difficult decision to make. How many ops are you going to have ? Your legs look good :) x
Having surgery 3/14 500 miles away from home and then I’ll have to recover in the city after I’m discharged from the hospital. I have a hole in my stomach. I’m currently in the process of packing. Whew!
I’m glad you are getting your legs fixed so you don’t have pain, etc but to me they look pretty good. I have waaaayyy more cellulite on mine (I also never wear anything that doesn’t cover my legs)
Hello Gabriella. Thanks so much for your detailed and informative video. Have you ever tried a Keto or Paleo/Primal way of eating? I thoroughly recommend it as a fellow lipoedema girl. I notice that you eat a fair amount of bread/rice/pasta/fruit and a low carb diet will really help with inflammation.
Are there not any doctors in Great Britain that can do this? I’m just curious because I have heard of so many people going out if country for procedures either because of cost or lack of specialists.

So glad Jane was able to go with you, was worried for a second you‘d be recovering all by yourself when you were heading to the airport.
Me too at first I thought the same then Janey appeared she is literally the best mum ever x

Thomas Su increased his prices so much... it's very depressing
@@MsErin-du5eg he did? How much is he for the legs now?

I think you would really enjoy Sevilla too, but not go in the warmer months,, unbearably hot. Such a beautiful place though.
I’m glad you are getting your legs fixed so you don’t have pain, etc but to me they look pretty good. I have waaaayyy more cellulite on mine (I also never wear anything that doesn’t cover my legs)
Does Dr Burgas do the lower and upper legs on one operation for €5,500? If so, that’s very cheap compared to other surgeons!
MADRID IS DEFO MY FAVOURITE CITY❤
Hello Gabriella. Thanks so much for your detailed and informative video. Have you ever tried a Keto or Paleo/Primal way of eating? I thoroughly recommend it as a fellow lipoedema girl. I notice that you eat a fair amount of bread/rice/pasta/fruit and a low carb diet will really help with inflammation.
It looks amazing! Xx
what shampoo do you use/recommend to thicken hair? my hair has been falling out sooo much and yours is so thick!
omg mine isn’t thick at all, it’s falling out in huge clumps because of the medical issues i’ve had!!
I am curious if there’s a high percentage of us with lipedema that are prone to allergies?
Are there not any doctors in Great Britain that can do this? I’m just curious because I have heard of so many people going out if country for procedures either because of cost or lack of specialists.
What area of Madrid did you stay in? It looks lovely, its a great city to visit isn't it. We were there a few years ago in June and it was HOT!
