I still use the Naked pallet and the cherry one too. I don’t throw anything away till I use it, and I have never had pinkeye or any problems. I use to try new stuff but not so much anymore because I have way to much stuff and no way of passing anything on. So I personally don’t like throwing away stuff I have only used a couple of times. Looks like these awards go to products people use all of the time.
You can def tell readers choice awards cater towards timeless looks and makeup. Honestly can’t go wrong. ❤

I love how many people say they still use their UD N3 palette. I think what alot of the appeal is the fact that PM and ND palettes are too much for everyday and the regular person job/life. Not until recently has ND been giving us lighter/nude tones. ND is my fave but her palettes can easily be WAY too much for my office job. Also, no one has really replicated the color story of the N3 palette; maybe Huda came the closest. Anyway, I can see how a palette like the N3 is used a lot by the masses, there is a reason UD keeps making them after all. It’s easy to get sucked into all the new and I do appreciate the reminder to use the “classics”.
Haus Labs pulled a MAC and used the "color wheel" so warm gives you the pink/rosy undertones and cool gives you a golden/yellow undertones. It kind of drives me crazy because it's hard enough to find shades that match.
Hi Lovely! To choose your "Allure best of the year products" you go on their website and pick from a selection of different products they show you - unless they've changed the system (I did it last year for the last time). I guess it's too complicated to ask thousands of individuals what their favorite products are, but sometimes I really picked a product because it was the "least bad" lol This is what I didn't do it this year, I felt like I wasn't being 100% honest. I know I'm boring 😂😂😂 take care ❤
I vote for the Allure Reader's Choice awards every year! They're open for voting about July every year I think. They give you a set of options for each category and you're supposed to choose your favorite. In the initial stages I think you can write in your favorite? But definitely not in the final stages.

I am leery of these Allure award results, even the Reader's Choices awards. It seems like those who participate aren't up to date with what's out there. I, too, put more stock into Allie's end of year top picks!
It is more about timeless everyday favs of people who the readers choice awards about. Look at in that light
The average makeup wearer wears the same stuff year after year. We aren’t average.
These are results from Allure readers. I would assume the intersection of TH-cam watchers and Allure Magazine readers would be small-- makes sense their choices are different from what ours would be!
My favorite eyeshadow hands down is Natasha Denona I have not used urban decay in years
Watching Allie while opening my new Ravie Beauty blush. Holy cow! What beautiful packaging. And the formula is buttery and glowy. It’s going to feel like a little luxe moment when I put it on every day!❤
I have the Haus Labs foundation, but don’t use it much because I don’t love the shade I have. I really struggled to find the right shade in this line - very challenging for us cool toned girls. Can’t wait to try the trick of combining the blush and highlighter. I gave away the Rare Beauty highlighter to one of my daughters because it was too much for me, but maybe will try it with the Elf Halo Glow. I always learn something new from you, Allie!
Allie is right. They are opposite. Warm is cool and cool is warm.
The Haus Labs shade naming system is somewhat similar to MAC where C or cool in the foundation shade is actually considered warm by most systems. Also Haus Labs fair shades are extremely light compared to many other brands. I often wear the same shade as @AllieGlines and tested 060W, 070N, 0100N and 0110N.
I found that the shade 060W worked for me and Allie is my shade twin! She’s right about the less is more approach because a light layer has more than enough coverage for me.
Apparently, Allure selects readers choice by number of votes through a form that they create with products Allure thinks of as the best products. Apparently, they include a lot of “classic” products because Allure has already vetted those products. Seems like Allure Beauty Awards are not very accurate as to what is really good and what isn’t and they don’t spend as much time vetting newer products because it’s time consuming and costly.
I used BareMinerals powder foundation exclusively for years before I branched out. I’ve been thinking about reintroducing it to my routine as well. I’d love to see you use it again and maybe how you use it with some cream products. Love your content as always!
Oh yes to BareMinerals. I finally figured out the trick to the foundation for my skin and I love it. Although I have to mix the two lightest shades and wish they would come out with more fair options.
Remember haus uses a different color system than most brands

Um…. It is kind of disappointing to know that brands need to pay Allure to get their products in the choice awards. It decreases the credibility of the award lists to me. In gaming world, it is called paid to win.

I started using the Bare Minerals original foundation again a year or two ago. I remember using it when it first came out from the infomercials. It’s still really nice! I use it in the summer mostly, it feels like nothing on the skin and looks beautiful.
Yes I love very much bare minerals.
I used to be all about bareMinerals. I still use the original loose mineral blushes and liner shadows, some of the glimmers and glimpses. If I use the original loose foundation or Summer Bisque or other concealers like Well Rested, I use them over another formula to help "set" my base foundation or concealer. I do like some of their newer products like the lip balm glosses and Gen Nude eyeshadow palettes. I just feel like there are so many other innovative options for us now.

I recently purchased my second Naked 3 Palette, because the old one was dead. I absolutely love it, and I use it quite often. My other favourite is my Natasha Denona I Need A Nude palette. I own heaps of palettes but I use these 2 most of all. I wouldn’t mind getting the Mario Ethereal Eyes. The colours are similar to Natasha, but I just want it. It’s so pretty. I know it was a limited edition, and it’s getting harder to get here in Australia so I’d better hurry up!

When I was deciding between Naked 3 and Born this way palette, I picked the Born this way one 😊 To this day I still use it, it's simple, yet incredibly versatile. I can use it for work, for a casual meet-up, for a date, for an evening, for attending a wedding... you name it! I think that's what, in this case, makes Naked 3 palette win Readers Choice for so many years in a row - people found a good staple palette that can be used in various occasions! 😊
I know all the Naked palettes were such a classic, but I feel like eye shadow formulas have evolved so much over time since they came out. I probably haven’t used a Naked palette since like the late 2000’s. I love the Makeup by Mario ones, way better pigmentation and blend. But I agree, for some people they might like the fact that Naked is more of a sheer formula. Maybe if they didn’t have such awful fallout I’d give them another go.
I wanted to love that Paula’s Choice exfolicate but it made me break out so bad 😬 I also don’t have any of the naked palettes anymore because they were so old and I didn’t repurchase them. My faves are all Make Up by Mario!
It’s funny actually, the Naked palette is so old, I never use it, I do believe better palettes exist, specially with better formulas, so I think you’re right, people just don’t buy new palettes haha

Bare minerals began as Bare Escentuals in Los Gatos, CA in the 80’s. I started using it at the beginning of my makeup journey. It was a fun little shop. On Halloween people would go in and have their faces made up in amazing ways with all the different colored loose eyeshadows. I always loved the Mineral Veil. Regarding the Naked 3 palette - they last so long that I think the average person does not buy a lot of palettes. Remember when it was the Tarte palette? Buy hugs, Allie! I think that people have a hard time spending a lot of money on makeup. So when the naked palette was trending maybe it was something a large populace went for? And now they’re still using it because the majority of people cannot go out and get a new expensive one even once a year. It’s just not a justifiable purchase.

Paula's Choice is fabulous, but instead of using the liquid, I usually use the cream or gel at night under my tretinoin and get even better results.
I still use my Huda bronzers every day.

It’s not a fair reflection. I find it strange how the same products keep on wining especially since we have so many wonderful new products out there. For example, we have so many new eyeshadow palettes and Naked3 is pretty old in quality and color range compared to so many other newer brands. Please bring back your monthly favourites!💜

I feel like the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette has become so overrated. There are so many other choices out there, like Natasha Denona, VIEVE, Pat McGrath, etc.
Benefit gimme brow for me is great when you get sparse brows. I’m 54 and the fibres help to give me the look of decent brows. I used Naked 3 eons ago. My top fave is ND I need a nude. Would recommend to Naked 3 users. It costs about $10 more and well worth it xxx
I do still use my Naked 3. I wouldn't say it's my most favorite pallette,but it's an easy everyday pallett.

i think if Allure lets the readers choose their favorites from their own collection a lot of people might gravitate towards “the classics” or the products that won’t disappoint. it’d be cool if they also did another list of NEW products or recent launches
I personally stopped using the Naked 3 palette because I found there wasn’t enough variation in depth in the colours.. It was all very one note. I kick myself every day for decluttering Naked palette and keeping 3 instead too, since I stopped using it months later and then they killed 1 and 2!
I use tinted brow gel if I’m doing a Quick Look and want my brows darker and a little bit defined (I have blonde brows but dark hair naturally lol). Or I use a brow pencil or something else to fill in and then the tinted brow gel on top when I want a more defined look. Also I was shocked to see the UD Naked 3! It’s so old lol I also didn’t know people still used it
