CN Mixed Freight Train Pulling a Long Cut of Cars from the Coteau Yard, Leaving for Montreal with 156 Freight Cars and a Mid-Train DPU - Busy Day at Coteau - October 1, 2021 (Part 9)
In Part 9, a busy day at Coteau Junction continues with a CN mixed freight train pulling a long cut of 54 outbound cars from the Coteau Yard after previously dropping 45 inbound cars (see Part 8). The train then reversed to couple the pick ups to the rest of the freight cars sitting further down the south track, just before the yard switch. The mixed freight then departed for Montréal with a total of 156 freight cars and a mid-train DPU.
On this busy day, we saw 7 CN freight trains and 8 VIA Rail passenger trains in addition to the Coteau yard crew switching around the station… all within the span of 6 hours! This is Part 9 of a multi-part series capturing the action on that sunny October day.

Yes, you can clearly hear flat spots on most of their freights. Dangerous goods cars seem to be better maintained but box cars, centerbeams and gondolas could use a little bit more loving. Thanks for watching!
