It's beautiful ❤️.It's a hatchback as a saloon you can only put things through from the back with seats down .With a hatchback you can raise the boot and put longer things through to the driver without dropping the seats if that makes sense 👍.I want 1 in that colour so so bad .Maybe 1 day .
Hiya Tim, glad you had a great time in the FL5 and got to experience how good the shifts are. You are so right , the Type R since they came back with the turbo Fk2 and Fk8 have always been about engagement and how it makes the driver feel so engaged and connected. Also agree with how the styling has matured with the latest version. To be fair the previous versions to me were more race car look for the road versions and if you saw them on the track , they would look mad, but on the road , they were too much for some people. Anyway great review and thanks for posting

Another great little film. Like the way your films are short and snappy. The Type R looks great fun. I have the sport hybrid and absolutely love it. It’s a great balance between performance and comfort. Plus I couldn’t afford the type R and don’t want my door kicked in for the keys! Keep em coming. Need an update on the M4 some time soon. 😁

Nicely presented Tim. Let’s face it, most guys that bought a R type are now driving German cars! Bmw, Audi, etc. R type is stiff, too low, front seats are uncomfortable as too hard, especially on longer runs. That rear spoiler looks a bit Mickey Mouse. But each to their own.
This has come such a long way, can easily do a long journey in this no problem, especially now with the adaptive suspension..maturity is key word here for sure!
As someone who had the previous versions , the Fk2 and the Fk8 , the Fk2 was stiff, the Fk8 changed the game with its comfort mode which has been carried over to the FL5. Can't agree on the seats being too hard. Defo some of the best seats you will sit in. 👌. Just going back a bit , the fl5 can be set up with a sharper throttle and comfort. Something the previous model couldn't do.

Very different! I’d say comp over this for track and as a daily..
Gearbox looks so good.
Sure it will be a solid car regards your points to reliability.
I'm concerned about the cooling as the FK8 SUCKED on circuit (or even light Nurburgring use). Seems they don't do good cooling.
I also think the price is a bit much. (£50k ish)
You could buy an M2 and FK8 for the same money.
I appreciate obviously used car v new etc.
Yeah the cooling has been improved and was one of the things mentioned that we're addressed by Honda and mentioned at the FL5 launch of the Civic Type R
Cooling on all these stock cars could never handle hard track abuse I’d say tbh…m2 deffo over a fk8 but I like how this still has 4 doors!
Car is slow 5.4 to 60mph 😂
