    This video is what you get when you let AI produce your video. The Lichtner building is due South of this property but they show some building on West Randolph. Those "public transit" trains shown are not the famous Chicago El. A head scratcher since they have so much local footage. You couldn't source a shot of the building with the El running right behind? A CTA bus on Michigan Avenue (not Boulevard).

      So no bedroom, no parking spot, just a studio apartment with enough space for living is $2K? 💰💸
      Might be a good investment, I can only see the properties value going up (if you can hold it for 5-10 years)

    No kidding why people in the city hate this building. It's designed too wide and imo is literally hogging the space above the nearby building (wgich may or may not be related to this construction).
    Why on earth would you design it like this? Maybe a few words on why, in the video would have been helpful imo. Seems rather odd.

      Overall.... Chicago is known for its mix of Old Chicago and New. Some cities ravaged their old thinking the new modern city alone was their call... Houston did that with few Preservationist to save it.... What is left finally does get some love after soooo much of old Houston was leveled just for parking lots to await a new city that is far more boxy glass or clad in other materials with banal fronts as no requirement for ground level businesses to retail were made. It would be regulation. Even less greenspace got incorporated as not required. Huge parking garages baren at ground-level became common.
      Now they try to improve after all that lost opportunities for a Great Mix of Old and New as Chicago did as Older around can blend in and aid any lacking one feels the new has simply as not as them and way taller. Chicago has a to some over-regulation approval for any new building.... those around including owners of businesses all have a say in what is coming next-door and traffic studies most see as too long and slow.... vs build anything for progress and we see far more just glass boxes and old just leveled. I give Chicago credit and its active Preservationist and Politicians no matter how claims of corruption came. Did do more to save Old Chicago's grandeur then lost it all.

    What happened to the very interesting top on this building? The render displayed at the beginning of this video showed a grand curved structure at the top, open at the sides, with detail running part way down the sides, giving it a rather futuristic look. I'm guessing it was used as "click bait" since the actual built structure fits right in with all the other glass filing cabinets for people. The one great feature and they screwed it up.🙄

    • @davidw7
      @davidw7 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not ugly looking out on unimpeded views over Grant Park and Lakefront to other skyscrapers.... This is a core with skyscrapers of all eras high and low and that mix is what makes it iconic also. It still fits well in the skyline overall also as it is not the only tall boy in the mix.
