I freaking LOVE Tom Hess and his honesty. He’s pissed and he’ll say it. I want my teammate to care enough to be mad when it doesn’t go our way but cool enough to be fine right after.

Always love watching these events, sometimes more so than the regular circuit. My only complaint is WRW is wearing a mask which hides his expressions which can be priceless lol.

Wish they made league patterns this hard. Unfortunately most bowlers would quit.

Do you want more bowling centers to close? Because that is how you get more centers to close.

@@poseym316 I have bowled with at least 20 people that have 50+ 300 games in league. They scare off the non 200 average bowlers and those once a week bowlers who just want to have fun. That is why the ABC and USBC has seen dramatic drop off in memberships since the 1980s. I agree that we don't need pro shots in leagues but something needs to be done to make a honor score a proud achievement again! Just saying

@@tombjerstedt7894 If people are scared to join a bowling league because 200 avg ppl scare them off, then maybe bowling is not for them. I bowl in a league with an array of averages from 130 to 230. League bowling in my opinion is just something for fun to get out of the house. Ppl shouldn't be scared just because somebody is good on a house shot. If ppl want to have fun, what other ppl average shouldn't matter. I average 225-230, have over 70 300's, 25+ 800's. Put me on a sport shot, and I fold like origami. If I want to bowl sport shot, I'll enter a tournament.
And I don't think an honor scores will ever be something that has a lot of meaning to it anymore.

@@poseym316 Your last paragraph is so true but the average bowler still feels proud when they shoot that first one. I can sense you arrogance about your accomplishments much like alot of the bowlers I used to bowl with. That carries over to the people there to "relax and socialize" instead of worrying about who gets to a 100 300s first and needs 4 lanes etiquette before they can bowl. The facts are the ABC membership peaked in the 1970s and 80s and something needs to be done to save this sport. For those who don't know, the ABC was the precursor of the USBC. The drop-off in membership coincides with the astronomical shift in scoring. The advancement in equipment and change in oiling patterns had alot to do with that. Any business who wants to stay in business has to be adaptive. It sounds like you think bowling can survive on having 20 220+ average people bowling at one center nobody else. Why do you think so many centers have closed, lack of interested and Intimidated people in bowling. As someone with an advanced degree in management, I hate to see a sport I used to enjoy go "down the tubes". I am retired now with health issues and had to give up bowling. Sorry I only had 2 300s and 1 800 in the late 1980s (Columbia yellow dot)when every honor score was checked by an ABC rep the next morning, running a machine over the lanes to see if the shot was "legal". If not, it was denied Try a sport shot league, stick with it and in a few years you will be averaging over 200+ in that too! 👍 I really think you would enjoy it.
You will feel that thrill again of shooting a 300 or 800. Take care and good bowling 🎳 👌

@@tombjerstedt7894 I have no arrogance once so ever. It was meant as a combination of people know my accomplishments, and others that bowl in the same league that have just as many and a few that have more than me and it doesn't scare anyone from joining and no matter how easy it is, I'm still proud and exciting to shoot one. I'm also not even close to the person that has the highest in my area. I think that person is at least 120+ 300's and 50+ 800's, so I really can't be arrogant when I'm not even close to his numbers. This is a mixed league that is just a basic league. It's 16 5 man teams. The closest centers to me that have sport shot leagues are 50 plus minutes away. With gas and cost of league at $20 or more, I can't afford it. My opinion to the downfall of bowling is electronic technology. Video games/cell phones etc. I try to recruit new bowlers every year but it's always, they can't afford, they don't want to, or whatever reason they have. No body wants to go out and do something anymore.
      I started bowling when I was 3 in 1988.

Not a fan of Brad or Tom, and this show proved why. Tom comes off so arrogant, talking about how much stronger, faster, harder hooking, that he is over anyone else. And Brad thinks he was good enough to not take practice shots. Then throws a 160 scrambling for any shot in the game, using every ball and line in the house.

Many, many years ago, in 5-man team leagues, over 33 weeks, using Manhattan Rubber, AMF-Exacta and Ebonite XL-5 against oil and 3-10 Vulcan pins, I could average say 198-203 on difficult, inconsistent conditions when the best pros were averaging about 210-213. Then Don McCune soaked it. And then came Columbia Red, Yellow, Shore-D.
Totally changed, if not ruined, the game.
Now guys 55-65 years old are averaging 235-240. Like putting in a bathtub.

I'm 65, and avg. Duece plus on a THS, buck 80+ in a PBA experience league. Time changes things, it just a matter of keeping up with it somewhat. I'll never attempt to toss it thumb-less, but I won't throw hard rubber again either. But I feel ya. Kinda like the 3-pointer in the NBA, but what you gonna do? Cry or get behind the stripe and launch it? Enjoy yourself. 🎳
      Peace.

How can handling the mask on and off every shot be healthy for anyone? He's free to do as he pleases, but there's no way that constantly touching that mask doesn't transfer any virus to his ball and those he bump fists with.
