I enjoyed the review ! I have a 95 in .177 springer. It is very accurate and powerful. I bought this gun new in the box, and is one of the better valued guns on the market. Keep up the good work my friend !
I just bought a 95 in .25 cal (spring version) as I’ve had a bad past with gas pistons. Hopefully it works out. Good review here and as always appreciate the honestly and real world reviewing
Hatsans gas pistons have a bad history of going bad. Doesn't mean all of them are but its fairly common enough its worth avoiding I think since they offer spring versions. @@MultiSkyman1
I have two Hatsan edge rifles I bought refurbished from Hatsan USA. I paid 69 for the spring one in .25 I was really happy with it so when they got some more in I got a .177 it was supposed to be a spring but they sent me a vortex for $49.99 so I'm happy with it. I going to keep my fingers crossed so far no problems and they both shoot great. And it's nice having some air guns with open sites. I wish I lived somewhere where I could hunt. Because of 25 caliber knocks the living crap out of my spinners. But I know you're taking a chance when you buy a refurbished gun sometimes you're getting somebody else's problems. Have a good one JC always like your channel I usually look and see if you have a video on something I'm interested in buying and watch it before I buy it!
JC - thank you for being honest with your review of this rifle and with refurbished guns in general! It seems many are reluctant to give a product anything but glowing reviews, so this is just another reason you're my favorite airgun channel! 🏆
Ive got two refurbished hatsan airtacts one in .22 and one in .25 The .25 is nice accurate and thumps never had any problems other than a broken stock screw. The .22 on the other hand, i have the iron sights cranked all the way to the right to the point its almost awkward to shoot. And the fromt fiber optic piece fell out. What does this mean? Idk just my experience but for $40 each ot was worth the risk
I know a person who works for a major scope company. He has told me that buying a refurbished scope or one that you have sent back to the factory for warranty is the best scope you can buy. Even though his company makes high quality high dollar highly rated scopes he said they are still manufactured on a assembly line and very little quality control goes into the scope after its put together that they focus on QC of individual parts and not so much the assembly process and the buyer is basically the final QC, and keep in mind these are $500-2000 optics we are talking here. He told me that scopes that are refurbished are actually gone through by a expert technician from top to bottom and anything they don't like is replaced or fixed and they go through actual rigorous testing before being sent back out to the customer or for sale. And the refurbished and warranty work scopes are by far better QC and more repeatable. I believe him as he is my friend and not a salesman to me. I think it might be that way for other items but its company dependent of course. I have bought 2 Hatsan refurb guns 1 flashpup 25cal PCP and 1 a airtact 25 springer and both have been phenomenal. If I tried to brag about my flashpup groups with RWS Superdomes you would call me a liar. And the side lever action is so butter smooth if I close my eyes it feels German. When I first looked at them new in person in no way did that side cocking lever feel as buttery smooth on the new one it felt kind of clunky to be honest. I think Hatsan does a good job going through these refurbs.
Hi JC, I really enjoyed this two-in-one review., I completely agree with your opinion, sometimes problems are easy to solve, sometimes not., so for less a few dollars it's not worth taking that risk. Hatsan 95 said everything this airgun is, Keep up the good work my friend, all the best. Cheers
Good as to the details of what goes into "refurbished"....My concern with refurb has always been the warranty which is always less than buying new but now I see what could be missed in the refurb process, also what you say about inheriting SEP....great info' of the process which appears could apply to any rifle. Hello everyone' if you look down in the comments you will see one made by a person named dark horse and i have to agree with him. That being said, i also have to say that the Hatsan 95 gas piston qe is a remarkable shooter ! I have had 2 of these rifles and both were spot on dead accurate right out of the box. The one i have now {,25cal} is a real tack driver an packs one heck of a punch. My son and i were plinking around at the cabin with it and shooting at those thick old metal cans at about 50 to 60ft out using JBS exact king heavy diabolo pellets and they were going through like butter, both sides. Absolutely am very pleased with the price on this bad boy. Beautiful stock and great quality steel. And NO i don"t work for Hatsan. LOL

Hatsan gives you a 1 year warranty. I say if you don't want to clean up and turn a wrench or screwdriver, spend on a New. Now someone like myself that really loves to tinker to kill time, it's perfect and saves money. All air rifles should be gone through, cleaned and adjusted to your liking from the get go. Unless it's a bad barrel, most can be taken care of in 2 hours time of tinkering IMHO .. BTW, depends on the rifle too. Some of the refurbished ones you can save $300 or better compared to a new Hastan at one of the distribution partners. On the cheap rifles, I'd say it's not worth it. On the high end models, I'd say 2 hours of my time to save $300+ is very well worth it. How much you get paid an hour?
@@sanecrazy12 One thing I have to add..Hatsan has by far the absolute worst piston seals on the market. I own about 10 breakbarrels. I have replaced the seal in every one. They get about 500-600 shots. I will have to say, once you tune these up, polish the trigger, and use aftermarket seals, they are really a nice shooter! @@AirgunDetectives Ok well now I gotta know which seals you are using as I can see myself getting past that number in a month. I would very much appreciate any info on your upgrades. Btw, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I grinned Everytime I seen her. The body in the back of the truck was comedic gold! Again so sorry to hear.
I think you are one of the fairest reviewers on TH-cam, and I love all your videos including this one. But I gotta say, to be fair, I own 3 hatsan factory refurbs and could not be happier with them. My last was a .25 125 and it exceeded the accuracy and power stated on their inspection sheet. But I could've just been lucky and I'm also not the average buyer. I happily buy these at their 30%+ discount with ever intention to tear them down and tune them up out of the box.
Yes, not a bad deal if you want to go through the rifle. I turned that .25 into a pretty good shooter. I appreciate you watching and thanks for the comments 😉👍
It's kinda of a toss of a coin. I personally would avoid refurbished airguns. They had issues at one point, and it is a question if they actually corrected the problem. Not worth the hassle in my experience.
I agree. It's tempting sometimes to roll the dice. I usually end up tinkering on them at some point anyway but I don't want to get into the more major repairs. I have the capability to do the major repairs but I'm trying to enjoy my retirement and cut down on frustration. I enjoy your videos a bunch. Thank you sir .
I bought a Hatsan refurbished - .30Cal BIG BORE CARNIVORE from Hatsan for $239.99. Saved about $90 at the time and the gun looked brand new. Im a VN era Marine and have shot many shot out old WW2 M-1's, so I know what a well used gun looks like. ;o) The refurbished Hatsan I looked over close and could find nothing wrong with it. I would recommend buying one, IF you can get one, they don't always have them in stock.
The odds are extremely rare you get a decent "Refurbished" rifle. I am glad you got lucky and got a good one, but as I stated in the review, your experience is the minority and occasionally you get lucky. But my time and experience is not worth the chance. BTW, you have to love the .30 caliber. One of my favorites 👍😉
@@AirgunDetectives I have a Black Ops and a Bone Collector both in 22. Very nice guns, but I am drooling here, waiting for my next check, cause I am buying a Blitz 22 Next. And maybe some stock in a pellet manufacturer. LOL

No...Hatsan has eliminated that on the newer pistons. I think that was a good move. Most people over pressured the piston and ruined the performance of the rifle. It is very challenging to match the pressure to get the ultimate accuracy combined with power.
I agree I have a vortex piston rifle Hatsan 89 QE I prefer spring piston rifles and PCP, to much torque reverse recoil and the Dove tail rail grooves are not quality control in constant, the power on my Hatsan 89 QE and accuracy at 30 yards is poor what this Hatsan rifles need is a good tune field and stripped clean and polished compression tube, question is why?when can spend less money a have fully tune rifle from Flying Dragons and Mike Melick stand behind his work. Purchase two rifles one CO2 and a break barrel. Had one issue with the co2 rifle and mike took care ASAP with out question mike a great guy to work with a man of his word and a good gun Smith's.
I have a older spring 95 in 22 . it is a scope killer i now shoot it open sights. it is not that accurate I don't use it for pest control .just use it for plinking cans.
Seems a bit underpowered. I've got a refurbished Swarm Maxxim .177 first gen that apparently had some trouble with the trigger because it's been replaced, but so far it's been a good rifle.
I like how you covered Dole juice while drinking it,, Anyway that Air Rifle I would get in heartbeat, if it was available to me Hatsan 95s are awesome air rifles en par with Diana’S to which I also don’t have access to…Canada sucks for air rifles with their restrictions,,unless you have PAL then you just buy real firearm…
Agree that 10yds is saying we don't make quality barrels. Seems that 25 cal is the worst. Have Bullboss that went back wouldn't group. They agreed and replaced the barrel. Will now group well out to 35 yes. Factor that has not been released in USA yet. Well if mine is an example of what you will get. Don't bother bringing them out here. Wouldn't group consistantly at 10m. Hatsan USA wouldn't even answer my request for service. Not even showing on USA website. I removed the barrel as borescope showed something wrong with crown. I'll say! Had a raised burr at every land and groove. Like dull cutter was used with too high a speed. ISO 9000 plus company. Poor quality control is all I can say. I recut the crown to 11° and polished it with 1000 grit wet/dry enmery. It will shoot well out to 35 yards now with most pellets. Slugs are a no go past 25 yards. This is the second 25 cal barrel with issues. No more Hatsan for me. Triggers are great. Maybe 22 cal barrels are better. Not going to find out. Spend your money on something better. Shame on Hatsan.
Hi I like the review on the Hatsan 95 QE.but I own the hatsan 89 QE vortex composite stock its total junk shot several 100 rounds in 22 cal broke the scope tore up my mount came with the dreaded barrel drop install compensator mont with stop pin recoil tore it up too used blue like tight on the mount threads. Never will buy a hatsan vortex rifle again total waste of time and money stick with flying dragons and mike melick I bought some of his rifles very pleased.
Do you know what Hatsan does to "refurbish" a rifle? I tried contacting them, several different ways, no response... Really bad customer service. Actually' zero customer service...
Generally, they get the return, they shoot it and if it works they put it back in the box and sell it as refurbished. I show you the check list in the video. They do occasionally do more extensive repairs but that's the norm.
The QE versions only have a 10” barrel starting at the chamber to the beginning of the noise suppressor. They are less accurate than the original. The only advantage is a slight noise reduction like 15-20% not worth the extra money
I enjoy your channel. I wish you would shoot cool stuff see what these airguns can do . A cool target is to put water or corn syrup red food coloring in an old medicine bottle or bottle has to have a cap . It really shows the the hydrostatic shock especially on a slow motion. I like the specs and the info. You gotta liven it up a bit. Kinda like demolition garage. That’s not your style but you could make it a little more interesting. Love the bi pod. One other suggestion is to get more powerful airguns. Like PCP no 4.5 mm to small not enough hitting power. I know you have used up to 30 cal on the hatsan break barrel. There are air rifles that can take down African buffalos North American 🇺🇸 bison and in between. Hunting with air rifles is a lot less noisy and the animals aren’t used to the report of the rifles especially the really suppressed ones . I want you to stay to have more success with the channel. Sometimes you gotta change things up a little. Good luck and good job I enjoy the content keep up the good work and may God bless you and your loved ones...
i agree with this. it would be cool if you used something that would explode when hit in every review of yours and using the same shaped pellet every time when doing so so we can have an idea of what the power will do to an object.
Crapsan air rifles are usually low budget guns that has a bad fit and finish and they use a lot of cheap plastic, like on the trigger guard my first hatsan mod 70 had a plastic trigger and it was absolutely terrible to shot, one of my all time favourite air gun is a slavia 631 had it for about 17 plus years now and it still works perfectly. I also have a weihrauch k97 Blackline a air arms tx200 hc air arms pro sport and some umarex walther guns, I have only one hatsan left a 135 qe that's the only one of my several crapsan guns that works as it should and the finish is OK
Actually, there are only 2 seals on the rifle. The piston seal and the Breach seal. You can replace both for about $25.00. The only issue is if you don't know how to do that it will cost around $100.00. Hatsan does not have great seals. I have rebuilt most of my Hatsan rifles. Occasionally you get one to last, but I have spare seals for them all. Thanks for watching 👍
Yea..I know I'm disillusioned but that's the truth for me...I can't remember how much hatsan quoted me..but it half of what I paid for the gun including me covering the shipping

Hi Mike... Gen2 Bipods airgundetectives.com/product/gen-2-side-mounted-bi-pod-kit/
I've been curious about Hatsan's refurbs. They have some great deals on them.
Good video. Always amazed a shot is literally never missed at 40 yards in any review. 🤔
Nice honest video. How did you fix the cocking mechanism?
A Dremel and some good lubrication. Had to take down and smooth out the latch pin 👍
LOL
@@BirdWhisperer46 I have been tempted on that blitz. I saw it on a major discount recently. My only hesitation is the 9 lbs trigger. 😉👍
@@AirgunDetectives Can you share the discount? The best price I found was $799 for a refurb .30 cal, and $937 for a 22 new.
@@BirdWhisperer46 several weeks ago Midway had them for $100 off. They are back to $939 now
I recently purchased a Umarex origin refurbished and so far I'm very pleased
That is good! Occasionally you do get a good one😉👍
@@AirgunDetectives it came with a 30-day warranty So within the first week I shot about 1500 rounds through it LOL it was either going to Make It or Break It
hay airgun detectives just want to say thank you for all your hard work you put in to your channel for this growing sport in america also thank you for the refurb info have a great day V p.s. five star!
Thanks Buddy! I really appreciate the support and the kind comments! Classy individual like you are what motivates me to keep this channel going😉👍
Cant you add some psi to the vortex piston, max it out to 150 psi?
So you refurbished the refurb. Did you send it back?
I didn't purchase it. It is my friend's rifle. However, we have it shooting pretty decent now. That's his choice to keep it or not.😉
I have a older spring 95 in 22 . it is a scope killer i now shoot it open sights. it is not that accurate I don't use it for pest control .just use it for plinking cans.
Glen, thanks for sharing and I appreciate you watching 👍
Great vids man, Can we get a RWS 54 air king review ?
I don't have one but it is the identical rifle as the Diana 48 but it is in a floating stock, which reduces the recoil.
@@AirgunDetectives I’ll go check it out, 👍
Seems a bit underpowered. I've got a refurbished Swarm Maxxim .177 first gen that apparently had some trouble with the trigger because it's been replaced, but so far it's been a good rifle.
Actually the velocity was right on Par as stated by the MFG. You got luck on your rifle 😉
I'm about to order this rifle!
So accurate!!!!!
I like how you covered Dole juice while drinking it,,
Anyway that Air Rifle I would get in heartbeat, if it was available to me Hatsan 95s are awesome air rifles en par with Diana’S to which I also don’t have access to…Canada sucks for air rifles with their restrictions,,unless you have PAL then you just buy real firearm…
I'm glad there's nobody else in his house who drinks that juice LOL!
I didn't want you guys thinking I was pushing a specific brand of juice😉
@@AirgunDetectives Now how'd think a thing like that! LOL!
Thanks for the review , very helpful information , God bless
Another great video
Thanks Cory, I appreciate you watching as always👍😉
Do you know what Hatsan does to "refurbish" a rifle? I tried contacting them, several different ways, no response... Really bad customer service. Actually' zero customer service...
Generally, they get the return, they shoot it and if it works they put it back in the box and sell it as refurbished. I show you the check list in the video. They do occasionally do more extensive repairs but that's the norm.
The QE versions only have a 10” barrel starting at the chamber to the beginning of the noise suppressor. They are less accurate than the original. The only advantage is a slight noise reduction like 15-20% not worth the extra money
Hi Mike. I agree I have a.22 caliber "NOT QE" and there is not much difference in the sound level. I will review that one in the near future😉
Just found your channel and subbed. Thanks.
Hatsan USA has THE WORST customer service, so no matter how good they are, I am DONE with them.
Do you repair guns just like this.
I don't right now because I am just too busy. But I really appreciate you watching 👍
I was waiting for your wife to slap you silly for drinking from the OJ carton.🤣
Thanks Jorge👍😉
@@AirgunDetectives 👍🏻🇺🇸
i agree with this. it would be cool if you used something that would explode when hit in every review of yours and using the same shaped pellet every time when doing so so we can have an idea of what the power will do to an object.
It’s a review not a video game. The FPE calculations provide a clue as to power.
You have to love the TX200 👍🏻
HAPPY ARIZONA AUDIT DAY BROTHER :)
Let's hope for some real results!🙏👍
@@AirgunDetectives i know you meant hope
@@woofman4796 I fixed it...fat fingers on these phones gets me in trouble 😉👍
@@AirgunDetectives yup,, i can relate
Haha!!! You did it.
That pole juice 🧃 😆
I just bought the refurbished one . Hope it's good
Still on the hunt for the Carnivore.30cal
Fun rifle!! Worth the wait👍
Do not purchase unless you want to trash it .. o rings will last for about 100 shots.
@@AirgunDetectives PLEASE make a tutorial laying out the whole process of repairing leaking vortex pistons on Hatsans. All Hatsan owners, especially the ones with beautiful but leaking Hatsan 135 Vortex QEs will be eternally grateful.
you shouldnt purchase a new one let alone an already junk piece of hatsan junk why chose this junk to many guns mine was over bored 5.54 at least no quality control JUNK
