Thank you, we are not called to "success" "wealth" and "comfort" we are called to follow our Lord Jesus Christ in love, service, and sacrifice. This world and the prosperity gospel lead to a wasted life chasing material things and treating God like a magic lamp.
I love your beard and hair, it looks like you could be an apostle! I am commenting for the algorithm, because this needs to be seen by more people, especially in these times...✝☦
recently I drifted from God. This world is so noisy and messy, Satan has created distraction upon distraction. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me, I'm a filthy Wretch.
@WorldRenounced Thanks mate. most of this really hard spiritual attack started almost immediately after I was received into the Orthodox Church. When I was more Evangelical the attacks where mild at best.

What would you say about someone who is Orthodox Christian but is still involved in political issues. Are they attached to the world to the deficit of their souls or are they doing God's work on Earth? I find that many saints (i.e. John the Baptist, St Paul and many OT prophets were involved outrightly in political issues - particularly when exposing injustices to the point of their own martyrdom).
Good question brother - like you said St Paul and many others were directly involved in issues of their time. Our Lord tells us “Render unto God what is for God, and unto Caesar what is for Caesar”. I think that the distinction between being in the world and being involved in political issues is when those issues directly infringe on Christian values. For instance, in my country, the U.K., there is an upcoming vote on whether we should allow Assisted suicide. I have wrote directly to my member of parliament to express concern and ask that she would oppose the bill. Matters that do not relate to our faith however, should be left to the state. God bless you.
@@Zoevandyne Good question! His timing was perfect at the height of the Roman Empire, and he revealed himself to a loyal few so that, the word could be spread in such a way where not everyone is forced to believe. That is the gift of free will, God does not appear to everyone right now, because that would be forcing them to believe, instead he offers us the choice.
Christ comes 3 times. First humble and poor to teach and call his people. In his time on earth. Second mysterious and loving, nourishing and fortifying his people, in the Eucharist. Third in his second coming that will be terrifying , to rightly serve justice and establish his kingdom.

Me too brother. Read the parable of the prodigal son again Luke 15:11-32 and it will help you to recognise that he welcomes you back with open arms.

why did Jesus appear live and die only in one historic moment, only in one geographic place, only after many other civilizations rose and collapsed?
