    The way I see it is what do you intend to do with the kayak? If you want to spend the day outside paddling and maybe taking pictures of the wildlife, a sit in kayak would be better. As you said, they paddle better and provide a better paddling experience. However, if you intend on fishing and maybe a bit of swimming, sit on kayaks are much better. Sit in kayaks are normally slimmer and often feel tipsy to a beginner. Sit in kayaks are also notoriously difficult to re-enter from the water when compared to a sit on kayak. Finally you can buy very light kayaks, but you are going to have to get a second mortgage on your home. Eddyline makes excellent lightweight sit in kayaks but two will be pricey (I say two because when your spouse sees it they WILL want one). Hurricane makes some lightweight sit on tops that are not inexpensive. I think they are in the Native umbrella. I love their kayaks! Great video as always!

    i got sit on top cus its easier to get in and out of and easier to recover from a flip
