Bruh how have you never heard of the Pulitzer price? It's older than any entertainment award including the Grammys or the Oscars. It's like as prestigious as winning the Noble peace prize but for a writer. It's on terms of being allowed to put Sir or Dame in front of your name after being knighted
The thing that no one is talking about is Kendrick’s raw talent and intelligence. During this whole battle he released numerous 6 minute diss songs and none of them sound the same. Zero. And to expand on that, Kendrick took a New York style, an Atlanta style, and a more vicious California style to attack Drake. People got it twisted. This wasn’t Kendrick against Drake. This was the United States against Canada. Drake been holding that rap belt for years and to take it back it had to be on the strength of someone with the intelligence to unite the coasts to attack him. K Dot is smart AF.
💯% I still have difficulty identifying which musical sounds/beats belong to which state. However, there's no doubt Kendrick ticked every box and catered to every generation and every type of musical listener e.g. Hip Hop purists, casuals, trolls etc. Funny thing is I was thinking if Drake had a time travelling stone I genuinely don't see how he gets the dub. K Dot left no weak points and covered all basis he would just be stuck in a loop💯😂
Kendrick Lamar isn't a normal hip hop artist with ties to a street gang. He has family ties with the bloods out of LA which is the birth place of the bloods. He was born and raised in Bompton (part of Compton that has been bloods territory since the 1980s). We're talking about a guy that if he ever got touched by someone they would have to deal with 15,000 active blood gang members all across America and even some overseas on them. Only artist that ever had that much protection from the streets was MC Hammer and no one wanted trouble with him. Didn't matter if they were Ice Cube or a Redman who had a certain reputation especially back in the 1990s
@@Plutosmoon660 yh tbh the way people go on about dude it's as if he's this ultimate holy grail of a rapper with the ultimate protection across the all states.
@@Plutosmoon660Still, Drake should have took him more seriously, not cause of the gangs, cause even Kendrick doesn't talk like he is a gangster! But he definitely a top tier rappers, Drake thought it would be a walk in the Park, and it kinda was, but he was on a leash.
Just because Kendrick seem like a small guy mean he can't hold his own he grew up in Compton doing the LA riots between multiple gangs his parents made sure he will have a fight and he was professionally trained to beat the crap out of you with his own to fist he's not weak and small jokes does not penetrate him at all

An article On April 16, 2018, the Pulitzer Prize Board awards the Pulitzer Prize for Music to rapper Kendrick Lamar for his 2017 album, DAMN. It was the first time the award had gone to a musical work outside the genres of classical music and jazz, a watershed moment for the Pulitzers and Lamar and a sign of the American cultural elite’s recognition of hip-hop as a legitimate artistic medium.

🤷🏿♂️I asked some of my friends when the diss came out and they said the the same thing, may be a generational thing💯
