I just ordered my first Ocoee River knife. Ox Horn trapper. Looking forward to actually getting it in hand.

You have a gem there, I have never had a Sunfish but between you and Tobias, the urge is growing.

Love the fishing flys engraved into the caps and bolsters. Ox horn/ram's horn are natural materials that shrink and expand, so it's good for the covers to have space for that.
My favourite folders are whittlers but your sunfish is very close to the top 👍 excellent pick K.D 👌

Ocoee River and Canyon Creek are both Frost Brands and some shields re shared by both brands. Some beautiful knives there. I'm not a big fan of the "stitch bone" jigging on the red knife. O know it is very popular. No doubt the Ox Horn is really fantastic and yeas I would like it. I actually like the bolsters on this one as they don't do it on every knife made. I like the shield but at the same time it takes away from the ox horn. You got lucky with it. And I will be on the hunt for one, But still does it top a Store Display? It very well might for some people. But we both know, we really want both knives! I guess it comes down to the person with most knives when we die, gets crowned the winner!

The Ocoee River is in Tennessee; it is Whitewater River that offers raft trips and whitewater kayaking and is also famous for being a great fishing river. Tobias is using a similar knife hunting technique you perfected. He likely has used it longer than you; he just failed mentioning it like you have. As knife collecting goes you could call him The Silver Fox of knife collecting. Mentioning you and being bested by him is a compliment. Your Sunfish in Ox Horn is a dandy of a knife. However; his has to be considered a find seldom out done by other collectors this time. The size of that Sunfish is amazing to see; you just can’t dispute that fact. I certainly never saw any Tortious Shell covers bigger. Just be glad you don’t have to carry that thing in your pocket. And am sure he will give that go if I know him.✨🔎✨😂

Yes, I too don’t mind being out-foxed by him :) I probably would also carry it in my back pocket :)

Wow, that horn is beautiful! I think Tobias may give the engraved bolsters a pass on that knife. You detected a great knife there!

Nope! I like it! They look good. Unlike Rough Ryder, Ocoee River doesn't slap that lure on anything so it makes it unique. They've also done the O/R on some bolsters and that looks pretty good. It's when you slap it on everything, that it becomes annoying and over done.

I’ve always stayed away from frost brands cuz I don’t really like Pakistani made knives. But I’ve noticed some were made in Japan and china, so I’m assuming the quality is better. I have a little first trapper made in Japan, but I think I might have to look into these! Love the sunfish pattern, it’s a shame everyone else does too, as it drives the price of the vintage ones up considerably. I was gonna take a loan out for a case sunfish, but decided to sell my first born instead. lol cool video man
