I'm glad you're enjoying P5T! This is a game I was super excited about since it was announced (because I love TTRPGs) and this is a vibrant and exciting new game in the genre. The "One More" ability - the ability to take another turn after KOing an enemy - is uncommon in the genre. In other games specific characters might gain a similar ability after levelling up / unlocking the skill, but I've not seen it presented like this before, where every character can do it from the start of the game. I think that helps with making the game more accessible to Persona fans who don't usually play TTRPGs, and makes P5T stand out for everyone picking this up because it's a TTRPG and have never played a Persona game before. Atlus got the gameplay balance perfect. There are a few areas where Atlus dropped the ball - starting the game feels like turning on the TV halfway through a movie, there's been zero persona relevance (they only appear when summoned in battle, with no introduction or explanation on how they are connected to the characters, and basically work just like Demons.) I do like the use of the Demon fusion from the good ol' SMT days.
It sucks to hear the one more mechanic is pretty well distinct to this game at least how it’s used. But also, as for persona, just kinda existing in battle time, they’ve always been in this series they just act as means for the characters to fight with, and if you felt like you were abruptly thrown into a story, that’s because this takes place during the game (I don’t know the exact but it’s seemingly either right before the final boss or right after it) But I’m also glad the game is relatively accessible for those who are new to the franchise. I’m glad you’re enjoying it as well.
😴😴😴😴😴😴 All the phantom thieves are using their standard personas. Morgana gets called a cat and is angry. Yusuke is weird. Sakamoto is an idiot. Ann eats too many sweets. Makoto acts more like her sister by acting strict. Futaba is a gamer. Haru acts clueless and passive aggressive. Akechi and Kasumire disappear from existence-plot after their DLC. I haven’t played the game. How accurate am I. After loving the real game and seeing the characters develop… the spin offs turn them into the Simpsons. Cartoons with funny clothes!
I mean you are right but that’s also stripping these characters to their most basic traits and while they are less developed in both Strikers and Tactica they don’t feel super flanderized. I’m glad they didn’t become pastiches of their former selfs
I wish this game could have more success since it's really good, but the overwhelming negativity from the Persona community is making it difficult.

I hate that they basically reset the characters i the spinoffs. the worst offence of this was the Persona 3 cast in P4A
Why shouldn't they be simplified. Phantom thieves are not the main focus of this story but Toshiro and Erina
