I lived in South Korea for three years and I used to wear a hijab. They were never aggressive, sometimes just curious, why are you wearing this, especially in summer. Sometimes they would just ask why are you hiding your hairs because for Koreans showing their hairs and styling them is quite common (They have hair salons everywhere). I think Korean Ahjummas and Ahjussis are quite open about giving compliments, young generation is a bit shy towards foreigners.

I'm hijabi and lived in Korea for 2 years for Master's Degree... How they react is based on the person itself. There are positive reactions, there are negative reactions. The positive reactions come from open-minded persons who's mostly been abroad or been encountered with foreigners. Positive reaction I got like: "it looks beautiful", "you got such a small face (because of the hijab)", one Ahjussi even pat my head... Negative reaction: weird stare, "don't you feel hot, just open it", "Here is not Indo (they thought we're Indian), so take off that thing." Yeah, some people made positive reaction and we can't be ignorant that there are also negative reactions. When sometimes we feel offended by their reaction, just think that it is because THEY DON'T KNOW ENOUGH.
I absolutely Agreed 99% I'd been in Korea on June 2019 just for 19 days but actually in Seoul was normal "people react" but in Dejon wasn't 🤔 in the area I was the only one wear hejap the way they'd staring was unpleasant & uncomfortable 😔

Allah (SWT) and only Him acknowledges their efforts. of course, these women should be encouraged to wear the hijab properly but to be putting these women down and saying things such as ‘you are wearing it wrong thus should not wear it at all’ is harmful as it pushes them away. we must advise them with genuine care. Ignorance and arrogance is worse than not covering your aurat properly; iblis was executed from heaven because he thought he was better than Prophet Adam (saw).

I lived in South Korea for three years and I used to wear a hijab. They were never aggressive, sometimes just curious, why are you wearing this, especially in summer. Sometimes they would just ask why are you hiding your hairs because for Koreans showing their hairs and styling them is quite common (They have hair salons everywhere). I think Korean Ahjummas and Ahjussis are quite open about giving compliments, young generation is a bit shy towards foreigners.
In Egypt.. some people attack women who wear the niqab like me, so Korea is much better than my country at this point unfortunately..

I'm hijabi and lived in Korea for 2 years for Master's Degree... How they react is based on the person itself. There are positive reactions, there are negative reactions. The positive reactions come from open-minded persons who's mostly been abroad or been encountered with foreigners.
Positive reaction I got like: "it looks beautiful", "you got such a small face (because of the hijab)", one Ahjussi even pat my head...
Negative reaction: weird stare, "don't you feel hot, just open it", "Here is not Indo (they thought we're Indian), so take off that thing."
Yeah, some people made positive reaction and we can't be ignorant that there are also negative reactions. When sometimes we feel offended by their reaction, just think that it is because THEY DON'T KNOW ENOUGH.
I absolutely Agreed 99% I'd been in Korea on June 2019 just for 19 days but actually in Seoul was normal "people react" but in Dejon wasn't 🤔 in the area I was the only one wear hejap the way they'd staring was unpleasant & uncomfortable 😔

Allah (SWT) and only Him acknowledges their efforts. of course, these women should be encouraged to wear the hijab properly but to be putting these women down and saying things such as ‘you are wearing it wrong thus should not wear it at all’ is harmful as it pushes them away. we must advise them with genuine care. Ignorance and arrogance is worse than not covering your aurat properly; iblis was executed from heaven because he thought he was better than Prophet Adam (saw).
