I really love when grey said last year that he raise the goats are not for meat , I’m so glad and feel pleasure that the goats are so lucky to have human parent love them , what a great couple , I always admire them with all of their hard work, lovely couple , there is a bright path to success ❤❤
You guys are so compatible when taking on projects .🤙I live just outside of Asheville. We got hit hard . Are used to live on the outer banks for 30 years never ever experience quite the devastation that’s happened here.
I totally understand the noise cutting the metal with a skill saw, I did so much of it with my Tiny House build, 30ft long, 8 ft wide all exterior clad in metal and still have some more to do with the skirting, almost 200 ft to finish that. You guy's are killing that build and the goats are enjoying it too: Stay safe and remember, you're not alone, we all enjoy watching!!
Love watching the animals be themselves, love the work, and wood makes it pop. Looks really nice u 2. Glad Greg u have recovered from ur injuries. Yall work so well together. Great video as always.😊
Hi Katie and Greg! You accomplished a lot in this vid and are making good progress. I laughed out loud watching Steve wiggling through that fence opening in the opening scenes. He has grown so much, that just might be the last time he fits through it 😉 That closing scene sky was beautiful. Have a blessed week and I"ll see you on the next one. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Greg, you could put a door, screen door on the porch to keep the goats out!! I do enjoy the landscape scenes at the beginning of the videos. Very nice.
I'm in SE Georgia and we are still dealing with the aftermath of Helene, no power yet. The fedex lady had 3 Jackerys that i could see on her truck and she said she had more that i couldn't see!
Sometimes it’s the little things that make the most difference on a job that makes it look like a lot of work has been done! Looks awesome guys! Also, that saw cutting the metal made MY ears ring as well, lol! Love ya both 😊❤
Back in the day before carbide we turned the blade around to cut tin. With carbide blades on a finish blade it cuts much better without reversing them. And it cuts quieter. 😊
I say it everytime but it's true. Your animals are gorgeous This is why the mill needs to be covered. You mill ahead and store. Greg, of course, can build a drier shed But yall need to be milling ahead of projects
I have to admit, you've given me an idea for a new woodshed, front and back doors. Load from the back and take out for the woodburner at the front. Rotate as we go. Eddie
Lots of hard work in every episode. Katie, I'm so proud of you on being safe with ear protection, eyes and good gloves while working with metal cuttings. A small amount each day is making your home very comfortable. Big hugs from Santa Barbara. 🤗😘🌹👋🙏🍷🐐🤲😎
So glad you two decided to stay with the same color siding. It will look like it was all built at the same time instead of an add on. My husband I really enjoy you and all your animals. We have been watching from bus living to house. You both should be very proud. Bless you. Idaho neighbors ❤
I finally got caught up with ur video projects of ur beautiful house.. I'm Mikey from the Philippnes Islands... This is my first comment both do better jobs of it.. Thank for sharing to us, peace n God bless...
It is great seeing your building progression. That is really quite a grand home you are making there. Also, the goats and other animals help create a really beautiful environment.
Just a suggestion. When I cut longboards on my table saw like you were doing I've had that problem with the fence moving. What I do is I put a couple clamps on the back side of the fence to keep it from moving. The fact that when you're pushing really long boards it's easy to put torque on that fence and push it. You might give it a try only takes a few seconds to put those clamps on. Hopefully it keeps you from ruining any boards. Enjoy the channel. Keep up the good work.
You all are wearing Coats must be on the cool side... Your house is very pretty and well built and I really love it. You Both work together very well great team work.
Greg and Katie all the animals love you both and that is amazing, Stephen is such a character and love how all the Goats love a Chin Rub. Extension looking good. Xxxxxx ❤️💙
I agree with you Greg. The goats are so cute and entertaining. That goat that you were “petting” beside Steve, definitely wanted your attention. See they are so friendly. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely a Milwaukee Die Hard fan That only because my grandfather sold them tools The beginning of the company They've always been very reliable You two are doing an amazing job
Teamwork makes the dreamwork!!❤ Love the soffit work and trim, the siding will look fantastic. Steve is quite the character, he's a boss..😂😅 Love ya'll ❤️
I know you’re glad,& relieved, to have all the tedious jobs out of the way. The siding should be a breeze putting up. It’s gonna look so nice, can’t wait. Stay safe, healthy, happy, productive,& blessed.💯👍🏾♥️😀🫶🏾💜✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
The only problem with the table saw I have is you have to definitely have a good power source that might not be good for you because if you don't have a good power source the cable jumps bounces and you have to stop
It’s been said many times, but you two are quite the team. Thanks for sharing all this hard work, letting us have an adventure too without all the aches and pains 👵👋😉Ottawa
Hi both, all these fiddly little bits sure do take sometime but at least they are nearly all done and you can move on to the cladding or siding as you call it 😊😊😊😊
Something you can try that I used very successfully is to cut both aluminum and vinyl siding and soffet with a mini grinder with a zip disc. It’s very fast and clean.
Nice work on the house. It reminds me of the work that I did when I was young. Also, living in an apartment, I get to feel like I am outside working right along with you. Thank you for that. Regarding the goats, I like them a lot more now than I did before. In general, I like animals but, I've never gotten a chance to spend time with goats. They seem like really good pets. Thank you for your videos.
Turning the blade around to cut aluminum and plastic is also a better way. It cuts through without leaving bursting on the finished product and doesn’t throw metal chips everywhere. Alan
Greg you need to come to Courtney to get yourself a good table saw like the one I have sitting in my bus rusting up it's an old Sears from maybe 1980s it's cable driven it's a big saw unfortunately it's not very portable but I'm sure you could get the portable bracket on wheels for it also have a bandsaw cut off saw combined I paid$99 for it back in early 90s maybe need the new blade but I think they're about $20 maybe more used to cut meat on it with a saw blade the wood blade cuts metal too if you put it metal blade on it right now that saw is going for over $800 exact same saw a king also have an old jointer planer that used to be my dad's it needs new blades but it still works good so if you're ever in Courtney on Vancouver Island drop by you may pick up some free tools I have three generations of tools here And have no one to leave them to😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Nothing wrong with using the store bought lumber, just added cost. The rough cut milled wood needs to sit about 1yr per inch thick, and that is just a wide estimate. How is the current solar setup working for you? How do you think winter will affect it, in terms of less light? It’s all looking good.
I don't know if you guys would be interested, but Tiny Shiny Home recently installed a gate actuator and a camera so they can manage their front gate. I don't think it was all that expensive, so I thought you might want to take a look and see if that is something you might want to do. There are probably other things you want more - I just saw that system and thought I'd mention it to you.
That addition is really coming along nicely. It's a shame you didn't have any of your own wood to use. Store bought always turns into a squirrly mess when you try and saw and plane it. It sure looks like you will beat any storm coming before you get the roof done. Soon you will be able to sit in your yard and admire your work like those of us following your progress. Take care, jack
You folks are doing a great job! Just wanted to suggest you get some "over the ear" hearing protection. It's a pain but in the long haul it will save your hearing and keep you from getting tinnitus. Believe me, I know! :):)
Love everything you two do! Can’t leave without mentioning all your pets: dogs, cat, chickens and goats. 😍
When you post your videos it’s like having close friends dropping by for a pleasant visit! I love them!
I really love when grey said last year that he raise the goats are not for meat , I’m so glad and feel pleasure that the goats are so lucky to have human parent love them , what a great couple , I always admire them with all of their hard work, lovely couple , there is a bright path to success ❤❤
That is one determined goat. He wouldn’t give up on getting through the fence.
🌼 the Canadian couple living my dream🇨🇦
🌼Your place is perfect and gorgeous. Be proud 🌼
I think the goats really appreciate the new house you are building for them. Can't wait to see them on top of the freezer!

Stand to the side when working around your table saw then if it kicks it will not ram you. House is lookin great .
I love seeing Steve and the gang. The goats are so cute. Great job on the addition; looks wonderful.

Love seeing you two working together and funny seeing goats getting evicted from inside.
🌼 you guys having to run into town does suck but the positive is look what you get to return to every single time🌼
Greg, you could put a door, screen door on the porch to keep the goats out!! I do enjoy the landscape scenes at the beginning of the videos. Very nice.
I love watching your goats! Especially Steve, such a cutie. House is looking so awesome great job!

@@ThisOffGridLife thanks, me too =)
You rock carpenter Katie, Coming from 42 year experience carpenter.
Greg agrees~!
i use to cut 4 sheets at a time and installed 5-800 feet per week by myself for 20 years. structural aluminum contractor for 36 years so far
On the exposed timber frame, get a brush and push the water sealant into the cracks, that should help there. Looking forward to that next one.
Thank you, Greg and Katie, for explaining the rain screen and other methods. Your simple explanation, Greg, is perfect!
Good morning Greg and Katie, love your opening to the videos. Steven won't fit through the fence soon..
Nice job on siding preparation 👏 👍
Saturday afternoon here in Sheffield UK is always made better by your videos thank you
eviniz cok güzel oluyor.. sağlıklı mutlu hep birlikte yasayın. türkiye samsundan kucak dolusu selam olsun. sizleri cok seviyorum

I really enjoy your channel. Plus, I admire the love and respect that you show each other. Solid relationship!
You have come a long ways as a builder. You do very good work. Greg is lucky to have you to help him.I love your goats. I still want Steve!
Back in the day before carbide we turned the blade around to cut tin. With carbide blades on a finish blade it cuts much better without reversing them. And it cuts quieter. 😊

Steve squeezing through the fence so funny, I thought his mum was going to grab his tail lol. The soffits look great, you are so nearly finished x
You're goat's smile a lot hi from Colorado Springs 😀
Looks like all the fussy stuff is almost done - looking forward to the siding!! Great Job - you two have come a long way!
Katie is a good worker!
Watching from Salerno Italy! Looking fantastic!! Steve is going to be so mad when he’s too big to fit through the fence😂😂
The addition is looking great .
You can actually move your current front door and put it on the new addition and leave it open if you want it to
We think that is what we are going to do
@@ThisOffGridLife smart move I think
I love the fact that you two not only love all of your animal you respect them too your the best.
Greg and Katie all the animals love you both and that is amazing, Stephen is such a character and love how all the Goats love a Chin Rub. Extension looking good. Xxxxxx ❤️💙
We enjoy watching your progress. You all get things done.
This certainly does NOT look like a DIY house!!! You guys have done a great job!!!
we are learning lots as we go!
Busy,busy as a bee,looking great😮🌼🌾🍁🍂🇺🇲👍
Absolutely love the goats and the dogs
Looking good, the cabin is wonderful, love your idea of having animals around. 💞💖💕❣️
Great work on the addition guys, love it! Your goats are just like dogs, I’m jealous! ❤️🙏🏼

I think if you made a cheap DIY 20 t00t long high tunnel and put plastic on the ground to eliminate moisture you could dry pre cut wood in it.
Two things- 1) you guys are SO SMART & knowledgeable about all the house stuff!! and 2) those sunset shots were amazing!! ❤
September and early October are exciting times for sunsets!
Yay soffits done, boards done!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Steve cant escape much longer, getting big!
we thought he was happening today, don't worry we will take video when that little dude gets stuck
You can buy diamond edged blades for the saw that works much better for cutting metal.
Looking good. Nice work.
Another great video! Addition looking great.

Good morning from North Ontario Canada I am also off grid

Thanks for the comments Jack! i dont like using store bought, but we are low on lumber until we do another gathering from the woods.

we 98% of the time use our hearing protection. we are music lovers and couldent imagine a life without sound.
