Love your videos,Rick. At 73,I'm constantly challenging myself. After studying with Jim Chapin and Ed Shaughnessy, expanding my jazz and big band skills,I amassed a collection of rudimental recordings, some really old ones..From the 30's to the 60's.One of my gigs a couple of years ago, they gave me a drum solo,( with a rock band)I played ;;''The Connecticut Half-time'' as a drum solo.I added tom accents after the opening 4 bars, and got a standing ovation.thanx to guys like you, and your videos,I keep getting more ideas...Keep up the good work and God Bless.
Played a few solos from this book in high school. I so wish I could've met Anthony Cirrone. Would've been great to ask his thoughts on what he'd written -- get his specific interpretation.

P.S. Never seen that choking trick. That's actually pretty brilliant. I could see using that quite often for extremely quiet passages.
If you get the study guide you can read about his interpretation.
@rickdior Hey, Rick. I didn't know there was one. Headed to consult Google now.
Do you have a favorite recorded version of Ravel's Bolero? Just curious which one it would be since there are so many out there. Thanks. 🥁
I love the Buddy Rich version, jazzy and tasteful.
