Butterfly rackets don't have to varnish.. It makes racket feel dulls..
You'd think that if you're spending $167 bucks on a blade, the least they could do is seal it for you. It's just silly but I guess it is what it is.
I know some companies sand down their blades to try to prevent as much splintering as much as possible. But that only does so much.
I believe the viscaria comes factory sealed. I have one and have glued many rubbers without splinters
Do you varnish the handle too
