    Do you seal your blades before putting a new set?

    • @dfy
      @dfy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I have never sealed my blade because I’m afraid it will change the characteristics of the blade. I know it protects the blade when changing rubbers although, the cons still outweigh the pros for me, even if it psychological.

    Thanks for the video, I wanted to ask can we use wood glue or white craft/german glue, these specific glues are very overpriced in my country

    • @dfy
      @dfy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I wouldn’t use wood glue. But a lot of players use “Elmers rubber cement glue” - it’s very cheap, has a speed glue effect and comes off easy. Good luck

    How do you get the rubber surface nice and smooth? Mine is wavy on my latest paddle.

    • @dfy
      @dfy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Firmly in every direction possible, use a roller like the butterfly one depicted in the video. The rubber may have dips or waves after applying because of the sponge. Although, the rubber should work its way smooth after 2-3 days. I have had this happen to me a couple times and the rubber always smooths out. Lmk how is goes/ went..

      Be confident as possible on the cut. Smooth and steady. Consistent pressure. Each time you will get better. When I first posted this video, it was only my third time cutting rubber. Btw - I prefer an exacto knife

    I peeled off the old rubber, but some old glue is still unevenly stuck to the blade. That can't be good. How do I get it off?

    • @glennfriedman9507

      A thin layer of rubber, actually, in blotches all over the blade.

    • @dfy
      @dfy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Rub it off with your fingers, use your thumbs - the friction will remove the glue and the blade will be as good as new. Takes about 5 min. Or less to do
