I feel like focus fire happens a lot on table top wargames. Regarding the little bit about wargaming simulations and all that, for the most part it's actually more effective for tanks to each acquire their own individual target rather than concentrate on a single target, because more often than not a single penetrating hit is all that's needed to render a tank inoperable if not outright destroyed.
