    I wanted to get sulawesi but the C02 mixing put me off a bit. it's nice to know you can just heat the water up to dissolve it.

    • @RWAquariumPages
      @RWAquariumPages  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can also use salty shrimp 7.5 then add seachems lake tangyika salt to boost the ph up to 8.5

  • @trueblu8
    @trueblu8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    4:55 I have had great success using Sulawesi 7.5. It's easy to work with and instantly dissolves in the water. And my Cardinals are breeding like crazy with it. I also use Bacter AE and Shrimp Baby once a week.

    • @RWAquariumPages
      @RWAquariumPages  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      7.5 works well for cardinals but not for the other sulawesi shrimp

    • @trueblu8
      @trueblu8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RWAquariumPages Ah. That may be why I'm having trouble getting these yellow cheeks acclimated. I just got some in but I am having some losses. Meanwhile the Cardinal population is thriving like crazy!

    • @RWAquariumPages
      @RWAquariumPages  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trueblu8 for sure, cardinals are such easy sulawesi shrimp, they're comparable to breeding cherry shrimp. When you venture to other sulaweso shrimps besides blue legged post and white orchids you'll soon realize the difference 8.5 and 7.5 makes, 7.5 doesn't mimic anywhere close to their natural habitats conditions

    • @trueblu8
      @trueblu8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RWAquariumPages okay so I have arrived at a conclusion. I'm sure the other varieties of sulawesi shrimp could be just as easy to keep as Cardinals one day. But the fact of the matter is there's not enough people keeping them yet. So the only ones available are wild caught, which as I'm sure you know, are extremely difficult to keep. Once there are more homebred available of the other sulawesi varieties I'm sure they will be easier to keep, and could probably even be kept in sulawesi 7.5 like the Cardinals. Peace. ✌️

    So I finally got around to testing my water to see what shrimp will do well in it, and i used a test strip, but I def plan on getting liquid to double check, because my well water comes out somewhere in the ballpark of ph of 7.5 to 8.5, 6.7 dGH, and somewhere between 4 and 7 dKH. TDS is 120 to 180 depending on rain, as im on a well.
    Now correct me if I'm wrong, but this water somehow is fine for easier sulawesi shrimp?

    • @RWAquariumPages
      @RWAquariumPages  ปีที่แล้ว

      Itll work for easy sulawesi shrimp like cardinals or white socks, or else it'll work well with neos like bloody mary and blue dreams. Or you can do zebra or green balbulti
