EN | Climate-neutral heavy-duty transport with fuel cells from Bosch

Heavy-duty trucks with battery-electric drive systems are reaching their limits, particularly in long-distance transport. With current technology, the battery required for a range of several 100 kilometers would weigh several tons and thus noticeably reduce the available payload. In addition, the battery would have to be charged regularly at very high currents to keep downtimes to a minimum. This is where the fuel cell has an advantage. It enables long ranges with shorter refueling times.
Bosch has been working on fuel cell electric drives for several years and will be bringing its fuel cell drive system for trucks into series production in 2023.
