I think this would make a great series. Going over every Gym Leader to discover the hidden information about then. Misty and Wake would be the ones I would be most excited to see. Misty I feel gets a good bit of characterization for a gen 1 gym leader. We know she likes to travel and is a romantic with a temper like her anime counter-part thanks to her Jotho appearances. We also know her title of the "tomboyish mermaid" which might be interesting to explore.

I never forgot about the fame checker, I worked hard to complete it because I wanted to learn more about the characters, it was a cool feature, expanding on already existing characters, I hope you go through all the gym leaders and mention the fame checker more.
Brock's depiction in the games and the anime creates a Jiraiya type of dichotomy that I find really funny. But the idea of game-Brock being a dedicated or semi-dedicated Buddhist is honestly kind of cool

IMO game Brock always had that strong disciplined centered demeanor. In all honesty I find it surprising that he’s neither a fighting type trainer, or a disciple of Bruno. I wonder if Brock had a current Gen 8 meta team would he strictly have fossil Pokémon, or a healthy balance of different Rock/carbon variants.
This isn't talked about much, but I think Jasmine has a crush on Erika, in Masters she says she admires and respects Erika a lot, and hearts appears on the screen. Jasmine and Erika also hang out a lot in Celadon city and Erika says she would like to see Jasmine in a skin tight outfit similar to Clair's.
That probably isn't a crush, not in the traditional sense. Its part of an anime trope, like the infamous hot spring gag but just straight up girls doing cute/suggestive things together.
Many of the Kanto gym leaders have some really interesting quirks hidden just below the surface. Some, like Brock, Misty and Sabrina got their characters expended on greatly in the anime, whereas others, like Surge, Blane and Koga are still so mysterious that hundreds of fan theories have been made about them. Giovoni probably shouldn't even count as a gym leader though since he's the big bad boss of Team Rocket and running a gym is just a side-gig.
I'd love to see this become a regular series! Super interesting to find out deeper lore about Pokémon characters that I didn't think have much lore to them at all.
I would love to see more videos about gym leaders. The role of gym leader has always been one of the most fascinating details in the pokemon world for me.

It would be cool if you did Misty next. I remember in HeartGold/SoulSilver you can find her along with a man outside her gym. If you get to close, the man runs away, Misty gets angry at you and she goes back to the gym. It's obvious they were in a date, but I always found it weird why the dude ran away the instant that a kid showed up. Did he not want to be seen with Misty? Maybe he found Misty wasn't his type during the middle of the date and use your characters appereance as an excuse to end the date without offending Misty.
I like both versions of Brock, in fact I feel the game versions still has the quirks as the show version, he just doesn't let them show as much, which is neat that you mentioned that when talking about his hair. He's a Buddhist, is different and more balanced than his show self, but because it's also part of who he is his love for women is the hardest hurdle to jump over, so he refuses to shave.
Game Brock seems like a pretty chill dude. I hadn't noticed nor made much effort to look for character or personality traits beyond what I'd seen depicted in the anime within the games, and I quite like this expansion of Brock's character.

If you look at the index numbers of the ingame trainer sprites, Bruno is the first character to show up after the player, rival, and professor, well before the other Elite Four and right before most of the gym leaders. It's speculated that Bruno was originally going to be the design for Brock and the Brock we actually got in the game was the artists toning down Bruno's imposing figure a bit to make him more in line for an early game boss rather than an end game boss. Hence their well-expounded upon visual similarities.

I was literally working on a fic about all the gym leaders and such meeting up during the Galar game era (which is 18 years since gen 1) and I wondered what Brock would be doing with his life now that he's in his 30's? Now I'm imagining Brock with a more deep connection to his faith, his Gym now has a temple in the back (brock promotes battling as a form of meditation) and while he is mostly secular (not acting as a monk, getting married, holding down a job outside the temple, etc) I think it would be interesting!

Two good examples of meditation while moving are yoga and kinhin also known as walking meditation. Yoga was originally practiced to limber up so one can meditate in full lotus.
Raihan has a lot of dragon elements as a character. His clothes, his city, the sponsors he has, his duty with hammerlocke vault and even his own desing with the sharp teeth and his battle style focused on weather. I bet an interesting video could be made about him.
Meditation is actually quite complicated, most would think it’s about shutting off all external stimuli but one of my former professors who taught a class on it and is a trained meditator, by actual monks, showed me that it’s not entirely correct, it’s a sort of in between state of pushing out stimuli while letting stimuli in. You push out the noise of the world but you don’t fully ignore the noise either. Like all things it’s very complicated.
LT Surge has PTSD from the Great Pokémon War along with his Raichu. That's why they're so competitive and "gung-ho" and destined to beat anyone who challenges them. I have service connected PTSD and I always tried to compete with others for no reason. I always had to be better, no matter how insignificant it was. LT and Raichu also have underlying anger issues stemming from the PSTD...They're hiding their pain

Many of the Kanto gym leaders have some really interesting quirks hidden just below the surface. Some, like Brock, Misty and Sabrina got their characters expended on greatly in the anime, whereas others, like Surge, Blane and Koga are still so mysterious that hundreds of fan theories have been made about them.
Giovoni probably shouldn't even count as a gym leader though since he's the big bad boss of Team Rocket and running a gym is just a side-gig.
I'd love to see this become a regular series! Super interesting to find out deeper lore about Pokémon characters that I didn't think have much lore to them at all.

I would love to see more videos about gym leaders. The role of gym leader has always been one of the most fascinating details in the pokemon world for me.

It would be cool if you did Misty next. I remember in HeartGold/SoulSilver you can find her along with a man outside her gym. If you get to close, the man runs away, Misty gets angry at you and she goes back to the gym. It's obvious they were in a date, but I always found it weird why the dude ran away the instant that a kid showed up. Did he not want to be seen with Misty? Maybe he found Misty wasn't his type during the middle of the date and use your characters appereance as an excuse to end the date without offending Misty.
I like both versions of Brock, in fact I feel the game versions still has the quirks as the show version, he just doesn't let them show as much, which is neat that you mentioned that when talking about his hair. He's a Buddhist, is different and more balanced than his show self, but because it's also part of who he is his love for women is the hardest hurdle to jump over, so he refuses to shave.
I do wish they brought the Fame Checker back, it was such a fun item that expanded on characters :/
Game Brock seems like a pretty chill dude.
I hadn't noticed nor made much effort to look for character or personality traits beyond what I'd seen depicted in the anime within the games, and I quite like this expansion of Brock's character.
Nice!! Yes please check into the other leaders. These videos make me like Pokémon overall much more. If nothing else it makes me think more about their possible ways some leaders chose Pokémon and makes me try more variety of Pokémon on my teams

If you look at the index numbers of the ingame trainer sprites, Bruno is the first character to show up after the player, rival, and professor, well before the other Elite Four and right before most of the gym leaders. It's speculated that Bruno was originally going to be the design for Brock and the Brock we actually got in the game was the artists toning down Bruno's imposing figure a bit to make him more in line for an early game boss rather than an end game boss. Hence their well-expounded upon visual similarities.
Blaine is super intresting, just look at his earliests apperances in the media and his sprite development in the game files of beta RG that got leaked

I was literally working on a fic about all the gym leaders and such meeting up during the Galar game era (which is 18 years since gen 1) and I wondered what Brock would be doing with his life now that he's in his 30's? Now I'm imagining Brock with a more deep connection to his faith, his Gym now has a temple in the back (brock promotes battling as a form of meditation) and while he is mostly secular (not acting as a monk, getting married, holding down a job outside the temple, etc) I think it would be interesting!

Two good examples of meditation while moving are yoga and kinhin also known as walking meditation. Yoga was originally practiced to limber up so one can meditate in full lotus.
Raihan has a lot of dragon elements as a character. His clothes, his city, the sponsors he has, his duty with hammerlocke vault and even his own desing with the sharp teeth and his battle style focused on weather. I bet an interesting video could be made about him.
Meditation is actually quite complicated, most would think it’s about shutting off all external stimuli but one of my former professors who taught a class on it and is a trained meditator, by actual monks, showed me that it’s not entirely correct, it’s a sort of in between state of pushing out stimuli while letting stimuli in. You push out the noise of the world but you don’t fully ignore the noise either. Like all things it’s very complicated.
Also if you think about it maybe that explains the age old question of why he gives out Bide as the Tm in the 1st games

LT Surge has PTSD from the Great Pokémon War along with his Raichu. That's why they're so competitive and "gung-ho" and destined to beat anyone who challenges them. I have service connected PTSD and I always tried to compete with others for no reason. I always had to be better, no matter how insignificant it was. LT and Raichu also have underlying anger issues stemming from the PSTD...They're hiding their pain
eric stuart used to actually be a singer, and i always wondered if he loved or hated singing as Brock lmao their voices were VERY similar so it wasnt like a strain on him or anything
