There's actually a very interesting reason why specifically the crust of new york pizza is so good! Each state has slightly different compositions of their tap water (varying levels of calcium, fluoride, etc.), and this can greatly effect how the dough, and subsequently the crust, turns out. Some pizza joints around the states will even import water from new york to get their pizza crusts just right!
There are also pesticides, chlorine, bleach, and other medical toxins (the only one i can remember is one that severely reduces testosterone) in the water supply, also kinda unrelated but in case you didn't know fluoride kills braincells
Makes sense why some of the cheeses they didn't like. Japan is known for having bad cheese, they didn't traditionally use it in a lot of dishes + the fact that the terrain makes it harder for cows to graze the quality of it tends to be worse unless you pay more for it. Edit: I have accidentally sparked the Great Cheese Debate in the replies.
additionally while it's not hard to get your hands on imported cheese, Japanese cheese more often than not boils down to processed cheese instead of natural cheese. Good proper imported natural cheese costs a small fortune and is more something you can occasionally afford.

Hey big guy I’ve been watching your videos since before the face reveal fan cam. I just wanted to say that you are amazing and your content has really helped me smile during tough times. Please take care of yourself bub, I enjoy seeing you thrive and I’ve enjoyed the journey along the way. Thank you for your time 💜
love this style of video from him, i feel like hes actually passionate about the topic but his personality still shines through
There's more of it on his 2nd channel Schlatt & Co ❤
5:05 tasting real cheese for the first time
More like cheese that isn't watered down

There’s this one pub in Tasmania Australia that makes pizza better than any NY pizza I’ve yet to try.
Believe it’s The Pizza Pub. They’re thick, not oily but not dry and still moist perfectly. They don’t pull on toppings like the things are loaded.
The company is called Schlatt and Co., but who are the others in the company? Schlagg?
His victims. He carries them on his conscience…
The train drivers
People don't know the lore anymore. Sad

11:07 hottest shot of schlatt in years
He looks like the Gambit
New York Gambit lol@@DieErsteKartoffel
He looks respectable in that shot
I’m obsessed with these videos of Schlatt basically just vibing
this video has such a good vibe. schlatt seems to be having fun and the editing is really good. this is schlatt in his prime.
6:49 "how bout I give you salty goodness in a couple of minutes"💀
Flabbergasted

This was sick as hell, the vibes were immaculate, hope "schlatt" does more things like this!
2:20 "Hello, I like the dog"
I like the dog, Ted
2:50 man what happened to the wallet how’s it a contractual obligation without the wallet ☹️
you know what day it is schlatt
Didn't Food Theory make an episode saying that it's the fluoride concetration in New York water that changes the consistency of the dough?
It’s true. NYC has some of the cleanest water in the US.
That new yorker fluoride stare

4:38 shoulda said atomic bc you know the bombs werent nuclear
🤓
They're still nuclear cause they just use fission instead of fusion
Genuinely nice to see schlatt interacting with people and not streamers for once
Another good jschlatt video?? What the hell?? I must be dreamin!! Dude these videos rock!! Hope you continue making them. Not sure why the view count is so low on this one but don't let that discourage you please!! No more Jslop videos PLEASE!!
oh my god ted’s new video better be “what works the best as the sauce on a pizza” or “what topping works the best on a pizza”
in italy saying that newyork does the best pizza literally would get you in jail💀
After visiting Italy I realized that they make a completely different style of pizza than what americans are used to. There's a far brighter emphasis on the dough and sauce than the cheese and it pays off. Not what I was used to but omg the dough was the best pizza dough I've ever had
This is giving guy fierri , dineing and dives. To that way he talks and descibes things, he should have his own show.
2:39 was not expecting jack to just appear
Achly one of the best and funniest vids I've seen all year, well done shlaticuss
