if I had placed myself in that bush, half the enemy team would have blindly shot me in the first minute of the game xD
Plus: nobody would have shot any enemy tank that I spotted.

Thats the basic for heavy and middle and td artys know where are best spots for lights and open fire to the bushes no matter what
It's usually possible to look back in hindsight and see what could've been done differently. Almost 10k spotting is a great game, no matter what. Great video, Claus!

My Word! this is so needed. Spotting wins or loses matches most of the time.
Usually it loses matches. When I'm spotting, my team seems to think it's a good idea to take shots when they're out in the open, instead of getting themselves 15m behind a bush.
That and good artillery!

I think you are 1 of a very few CC that really shows how to play AND explains what you are doing, most of the others fly through the game going "bang, bang, that's how you have a great game". Love the reasons behind your actions and the blunt way you put things, "a muppet is a muppet". Keep up the great work.

Yesterday I uninstalled it. Bored to death playing the same maps with the same way, losing the same way or usually wining by 15-2 depending on matchmaking. Taking a break or a long break or forever time will tell. Still love the videos of Claus on the other hand. Not bad to watch here and then.
The game is getting worse, not better. So if you take a break now, it probably will be long haha. Longest break I took was 3 years. And the time I play vs. the time I take breaks is definitely getting shorter :D
But honestly - in War Thunder (Realistic/SImulator Battles, not arcade...arcade is total crap) it is not so much better - and I have to play one of both because I love tank games.
@@Duke49th I think i am through with the free to play concept generally. I have downloaded Call of Duty Warzone, which is free to play as well. There you have cheqters with aim assist and wallhacks. There are weapons that have almost zero recoil and incredible accuracy. Of course these weapons are available only for those they pay or have played a million hours. Which brings me back to World of Tanks again in different style. So I would rather pay once to get a balanced game and demand to be fair rather than be "free to play" but being unplayable by an average player and have to spend more than 5 games together only get some kind of average experience. I get it that nothing is free actually. They designed it and their goal is money by making the standar experience unbearable. For me that's over. I went back to my favorite Company of heroes 2 where usually the guy that beat did it square and fair being better. Almost free or play and if you pay for a commander you pay 3 euro not 60 for a tank. I installed single player best game ever Max Payne 3 and that's it for this year. I am done with the free to play-free to pay games. If I had time I would have started a total war game which are legendary but require too much time that I don't have anymore.
@@georgiospapahatzis9910 The concept of "Free to play" hides the intention to literally clean your wallet. WoT is no exception, on the contrary, it has taken it to a higher level. In my opinion, their "sister" sites offer plenty of "forbidden mods" to make the game available to beginners, place them in some rank of "successful" and to move from "weekend warriors" to the status: "pay and win" ... etc. ever come back, I only play with Tier III no higher.
I remember this game form the stream: (1) super unicom advices on the chat: “shoot him”. Yeah, right! What a m…ns. (2) you could just relocate to left side of the bush after the blind shot but I can understand that you came to the conclusion that there was nothing else to be done at that position. HUGE GG BUDDY!!!!

I was trained as a scout IRL and can't play them for Shit. And it's all about not being able to control my twitching trigger finger. Your Patience is magnificent.
Who trained you as a scout?
Of course, the topography of the map, plus no arty, helped prolong the game in terms of people being able to shoot.
You may have lost, but that is the BEST Light Tank game play I have seen in a long time... Too bad the rest of Your Team could not shoot very well !

This game is an excellent example of how rediculous the spotting/vision mechanics are in this game.
one one end tanks arent lit up bare 100meters out. and the other game you cant get closer then 250meters or you'll be guarateed dead.

He was only lit once ...after that he probably didn't realize he still was

When you said you can't shoot because you will be dead in 3 seconds from the first shot. Not if they are comparable marksman to your teammates lol. Great video Klaus. Patients is key

That was a great game on your part. I believe that a lot of the player base can't cope with these 15 minute games. Hence players say gg on the 3 minute games when I say they were shite and boring.

I have also switched off chat (something I periodically need to do for my own mental health) and have stopped my premium account (WG and allegations of money laundering). So I am healthier and richer.

I am pretty sure Claus began the shout of RUSSIA when firing...years ago.
If that doesn't work you can get a Russian Reach-around.

Not many people have the patience to passively spot. I run into this all the time when playing. People have to understand that lights increase the view range of the team. You can see them...they can't see you. If the lights on you team get killed too early, then the team is at a handicap. Great example and great game Claus.

There are few things more frustrating to me than when I spot and no one shoots.
Yeah, this is main problem playing light tanks. You can spot whole enemy team and may get no assist, because allies don't pay attention...
Good morning buddy, I love the video but I suffer from lack of control trying to play lights and turn into a muppet and start shooting and then back to the garage. Unfortunately your team was like most of my teams, spotting gives you information on when and where to push but most teams never look at the map and can’t figure out where and when to push. GG, had those exact type of games on this map on the SEA server. Last 3rd of the game I need to go into yolo mode when I've figured out my teammates won't move. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
Most players have no patience and rush forward like headless chickens; then blame glass cannon TD's for "camping".
"Reeeeeeeeee, I went over the hill, why didn't you follow me, reeeeeeeeeeeeee".
Most games on open maps are lost or won by spotting, good spotters are extremely valuable.

Wait, Claus! You were in one of those Call Of Duty Light tank Bat Chats with the machine gun. You were supposed to run around the map like a maniac, fire-hosing everything in sight like all the other light tank players. Besides, Wargaming gave the Bat Chats a cloak of dispersion just like the Russian tanks as well as special armor which make them particularly effective at Call of Duty game play style. But really, thanks for showing how light tanks are supposed to be played, not like the vheeled wehicles! To bad your team wasn't able to take advantage of the spotting.
Note to self: Don't dare screw up big time if you're on Claus's team..... it's not just the loss of the battle .... you also become TH-cam material of what not to do. (Frankly I couldn't drive a light tank to save my life... lol😁)

I think you passed on a great opportunity to shoot that LT 432, when the enemies were all lit 😉 since they were all panicking at that time. But that was your call, you thought it was safer not to. Great game anyway, old man!
Yeah I kinda agree. There was few times when almost all enemy tanks were lit and no one was watching/aiming at his position. Could have used that time to push out and shoot 2 times to take out the low hp LT 432. Great spot game anyways!

Those two bushes are where I fire my shells as arty pretty early in the battles... and hey - no arty here!
Great patience shown Claus and good game. I'm pretty sure there was no one who could hit the LT-432 for a good while as he was behind a rock in depression, but it must have been frustrating!

Nice Lessons on spotting and “Bush Mechanics”, and for those that tell you to “just shoot ‘em” - they’re NOT PAYING ATTENTION”! Game: We are only 1/15th of a group of random players against the same. We need to stop using “TEAM” - there are NO teams. Improve your odds of winning: Join a clan, platoon often, accept criticism, play in Premium vehicles, read everything WG publishes and watch Kellerman videos.

My best scouting game was in that tank on that map just the opposite spawn. Probably 3 years ago but I still remember it.
That was rough! I was silently urging that AMX M4 and Somua to relocate to a spot they could actually have a shot on things you spot. Where they were they were not going to hit anything unless that spotted enemy was dumb and came out from their hole. And that SU-130PM was not in a great spot to shoot much. They could have moved to a better spot too.
Great spotting, I love to passively scout but it is a lost art with many of the maps WG makes. Only a few where you can do really well passively. This is one. Though your spot is well known and I often blind shoot there. ;)
I did almost the same, but no one would fire on any target I called, because they had a platoon with another light tank and only shot when he called targets, sometimes it sucks to try and play as a team.
Am addicted to a daily dose of Claus. I need a doctor.
I have basically given up on passive spotting. Nobody from your team shoots, and on many maps WG have no passive spotting locations of note to basically force you to do active spotting. Example is Cliff. Everybody knows that the only decent spot is on the hill, so you are forced to expose yourself trying to climb the hill, and an EBR will beat you on active spotting every time of the day. So you are forced to hide like a pussy until the clown dies.
To be fair there were opportunities for shots towards the end you could’ve taken. The frantic yolo at the end proved that more so
Sometimes you get crappy players or ones think they are good but stink. You did better than me in spotting, I couldn't have sat that long without firing.

Man, as a TD I wish I had spotters like this. Every game I play is without, and usually the games with good spotters are easily won. Such an important role that I am trying to learn myself, so I can help the team out

Situation with LT-432 shows, why CVS should be used on light tanks. Even if this LT-432 would have stock view range, with CVS he may spot Claus.

Great game Claus! People just don't want to take risks to try and win a close game any more. They would rather keep the other team from winning by drawing.
That was definitive TH-cam Worthy Claus - but you say that when a player shoots and don't pen a load of ammo is a bot? -well the I guess I am - I am even not a regular shmo... I might be a new bread of shmo - maybe a micro-shmo? *lol* - Nevertheless: Nice game.... sad to see that the rest of the team didn't follow up at the end (or at the middle) of the game. - AP in Norway.
Off the topic of the video but does anyone else notice that the match making usually has a team of mostly members of some clan vs a team full of non clan members? Also that one teams average win ratio is an average of 5% higher then the opposing team? Yet we are told matchmaking isn't manipulated.
They patented the MM, and WG's "Wiki" does hint that team rosters are indeed manipulated.
If you play vanilla without XVM, easy to identify the better team by scanning the count and rarity of accomplishment "badges" next to names.

That happens a lot on the ASIA server too.... Imma TD, enemies must come into my draw range, I cannot press W... I cannot risk my full HP TD to try and win!
I find a lot of TD players more frustrating than arty players. At least with arty you expect them not to move. The IQ of a lot of WoT players is questionable.

Made almost 9k in ltg in campinovka recently. Maybe it would have ended the same, but by my surprise when I pinged to cap the enemy base to secure win and drag out last enemies from spots, one of my teammates did it. 10k is 10k, it doesn't matter at this point if you get those Victory fireworks at the end, after such performance you just know that you did everything.
Damn I wish I could be that good at Spotting since Every time I drive to a spot you did I get spotted and blasted by half the enemy team

Regardless, I am forwarding this video to my brother, he loves darting around in light tanks, but is way too impatient. Constantly caught extending out too soon, then getting predictably eliminated, by every enemy looking for an easy mistake.
He doesn't listen to me, perhaps this light tank tutorial will help, thanks.

That "stock" AMX is a premium. Thats why he's in a tier 8 battle with only 2400 battles for his entire account. That battle really sucked for you. Do almost 10k spotting and it's a draw. Discouraging, to say the least.
However, that map has drastic topographical variations. An excellent job of spotting on that map can still result in a draw, or even a loss because your teammates may not be in topographical positions to shoot the enemies you light. That's why that LT-432 survived as long as he did. Not because your teammates just decided to let him live, but because they had no angle on him. Same with that group of 5 tanks you kept lit and why there are so many shots and so few pens. That map is littered with hull-down spots that show only turrets when lit. Even spamming gold "LIIIIIKKE A MUTHA FUCKA!!!" will just bounce turrets.
Not saying that's what must've happened but it is plausible. Now, if all those non-pens were just misses, then I say that that battle was a preordained loss by mm and rng and it was a miracle that it was only a draw and the enemy team failed to take advantage of the opportunity that the game provided. I've been in SOOOO many battles that I knew as soon as the second consecutive shot missed outside of my reticle that mm and rng had already decided the outcome.

What I love, is when players on your team egg you on to move when you sit in a position like this, I turn off chat for a good reason.

The lancen c shot at somua and hit you, you could stayed in the Bush with no trouble. Was just a lucky shot, a mistake to leave Bush as so many does from a unintentionally shot and then dies.
I can explain! I can! Your WR is 49% cuz WG sticks u in 'low win possibility games when you're WR get's too high, and similarly, puts you in 'high win possiblity' games, when your WR tanks.
At least that's my 'theory' based on tracking a few hundred games. I think WG keeps a running avg on your last 100-200 games and sticks you in games to maintain a WR close to 50%.
That way the game never gets too easy when you get good, and never gets too hard when you suck.
Anyway, that's my take.

The problem with taking that position on Maninovka is that you lock a lot of attention of your own team and prevent them from taking the important positions fast.

Hey Claus, want to punish yourself and show us how bad it is? Try the French Tank Destroyer line. It is being promoted now, so start with the Bathtub at tier 4 and work your way up. Take plenty of alcohol as you will need it. Also, take some tissues when you cry over how abysmal that line is.

Spotting is fun but takes month to make a spitting tank or real money! My bc12t is my best at 48% camo and it has camo,bia crew. Camo net, exhaust camo and a binoculars and yet only 48% camo. Takes shit load of time to build up a spotting tank

So many times in a prime spotting location with the batchat and just watching the team either not shoot at all or just miss over and over. Used to love playing lights but it's almost useless now.

Welcome to Wattsound on the EU server Claus. 30 shots and only 5 penetrations are quite common here even for players with 30,000 battles.
