This is the entire 3 months of chaotic building boiled down into one video, showing the whole process from start to finish. Thank you all for being a part of this first build and adventure! I’m psyched to finish editing and share Part 1 of the next build by Dec 21st! 😃
It’s so funny because the day before this video came out I was just looking at your channel and was thinking there’s no way it’s already been six months since his last upload and then bam new video with a peek at the new build. I’m here for it and can’t wait
I remember watching and finding bro in IG back in Summer of 2023 and me an my mom watched dude every morning at 5:30AM last fall an Winter while she survived some of her last days on earth and her watching you ski brought back so many memories of her an my dad going to Vermont to ski in the late 80s an 90s when we were babies and it was nice sharing those talks and memories with my mom before her cancer inevitably took her life on Jan 20, 2024… Watching this vid brought back memories of me an her her last few months her man and I’m excited for the new build and adventure!
I have watched loads of DIY camper/truck bed camper videos on TH-cam, but this one definitely takes the cake! You went super in-depth about the project, and have created something I would love to have myself!
I love seeing people take so much effort to go on adventure. I love seeing new experiences from their perspective. Sweet ride you have there buddy, I wish I could go on an adventure like you.
Great video. Most long diy videos are boring after 5 minutes. Not the case here. Enjoyed it very much. I like the remark about how much weight the truck can carry. I'm in the same boat as I just finished my diy truck camper. Apparently you're not concerned about gas prices or gas milage, I'm not either. Enjoy your rig. Stay safe.
Loving the build, im jealous of the creativity you guys in America have when it comes to vehicles, that build would have been stopped at the first 2x6 here in Germany. Just suffocating here, but i guess our rigourous safety standards do help reduce accidents. Maybe.
I was actually a little disappointed that your original build videos were as in depth as they could’ve been. This is a cool recap and I’m looking forward to build 2!
Your living equipment is really what makes the difference in being able to be out there and do what you want. We weren't able to do this until now unless you were the roughest and the toughest guy in the world and therefore considered a real man. It's incredible to think of what you have on the road with you and how you're able to have it, and there is room for improvement. 1. There are still certain walls that most people never try climbing and that seems to be the use of raw tesla batteries to upgrade your power station. One single tesla model s battery module is 3x12x25 inches 55lbs and anywhere from 4.5 kwhs to 6.1 kwhs of straight juice. On the lower end of things 4.5kwhs is still 2.5x what a bluetti 200lmax is because a 200lmax is barely 200ahs at 2kwhs. One 4.5 kwh tesla battery module is roughly $300 dollars on eBay if you want cool ways to save money and still make a suitable power station. This much power could mean an induction hot plate that's probably just a tad bit smaller than your gas stove but it eliminates the bulky 20lbs LP tank. It could mean running a small portable AC system on your rig. It's a little bit of an undertaking because tesla battery modules need DIY BMS modules, heating pads, charger, and inverter that you have to wire up and test all on your own, because if you let bluetti or ecoflow do it in a nice little streamlined package, then they will charge you the extra $1000 dollars and you will only get 2kwhs of juice which is the problem. My thing is as intimidating as electrical can be if you're already taking on DIY projects then the electrical side is the final frontier. If you made your own toy hauler so that you didn't have to rely on Jayco, then it's just a matter of time before you won't have to rely on ecoflow or chin for a power solution. 2. You can also get a 12v lithium car battery for your rig because they're a lot lighter, hold more juice, and perform a lot better with really high cca, but they are about $300-500 bucks for 60-100ahs. 3. Cassette toilets are intimidating because of the impending hassle. It's a turn off. You think it's the smart move carrying it but it's just taking up space. The best toilet is probably a dry flush especially a portable collapsing camp toilet and a separate pee jug. They take less space and don't have any hassle in fact you would be tempted to use it and that's something you want in your rig. The key to a dry flush toilet is poo treatment powder which unfortunately some were unaware of but is necessary for human waste disposal. It's inexpensive, plentiful and worthwhile. Paying attention to this stuff just means maximizing space on your rig for things you actually want and keeping more of your money where you want it too.
The diesel heater pump is quietest if you make three circles with it and the line like a spring and allow it to dance as it pumps. I made a small box for it and suspended it so it doesn’t transfer any vibrations or much noise. It’s placement it only a few feet from my head when sleep so it drove me nuts. Doesn’t do that anymore since I gave it special attention. I don’t post any of my stuff I build but I’m good for a tip here and there.
The diesel heater is a nice option, but I've been quite happy with a gasoline model because it works with my main gas tank and I didn't need to fill a separate tank. That way, if I bring extra fuel, it works both for the van and the heater.
I just Tripped over ur channel ☆ Absolutely outstanding ☆☆☆☆ , all of it, my compliments, put it all 2 geather & just left?!?! Then? On the way? U decide 2 do " it" All over? & bigger& better!!!! Very cool!!!! Well done, full marks....🎉
I saw you parked on the opposite side of a highway, last winter, when me and my wife took a road trip to Colorado from California. I think it was around Vail if I remember correctly. Those orange skid plates on the back of a silver Tacoma stick out anywhere
Great build. You should consider getting the car charger thing for the power station that way you never run out of power. Also if you read this, could you provide the dimensions of the area where you put the bike, I am considering to buy a van to transport the bike around, would be good to know if the thing will fit.
I thought the same thing. The frame itself looked massively heavy, then with the finished product and dirt bikes, I think it doubles the payload of that truck. Good thing it was a salvage truck, but still pushing his safety with that set up. Came out great though, I might build something like this for my work truck, but with 2x2 frames to transport my floor machines while I travel from job site to job site

Stoked to see another video! You're an inspriation man

I clicked on this video so fast! ❤️

Now show us you struggling to loading your bike in your narrow unweatherized plywood box.

Overkill is underrated

LETS GOOOOO
I watched someone else build a truck like this you need to reinforce the frame if you are going to have a lot of weight toward the back
I thought the same thing. The frame itself looked massively heavy, then with the finished product and dirt bikes, I think it doubles the payload of that truck. Let's go bro is back ❤❤❤❤
U should make some videos of daily life out of the truck. How the van life people do
clean af. nice job, gg
Bummer thought you were back again
YES!!!!!!
Did I just go back in time....
Bug out vehicle: check! 👍
You should make be bring along a couple of spare truck 😅 transmissions 😂
hell yeah
Absolutely incredible. How did you learn how to do all this?
wait bros from mass? thats whats up, i remember the beginning of this build on tiktok
I would’ve put red guard on the inside and outside of the wood frame and then painted with exterior paint
This is super cool, when fully loaded what type of gas mileage are you getting out of the Toyota?
I understand you're using what you have, BUT you could drop a 747 on your truck and the camper shell will be the only thing remaining .
Tru tho
