I think a lot of people will be wondering this and of course I’ll have some time to heal (my back is not great at the moment) but in the final reveal I will be explaining what we are doing with the passion project and why we came to this decision. That being said I have an idea of something big for the channel….. yoI’ll just have to wait a little bit longer!!

Your shutters look so good after filling, sanding and painting. Many other chateaus have very rough ones that could the same as yours. Those little hardware extras are what adds 👍🏻👏🏻that little ‘extra’

Before you start sanding the paint off the door handles, try rubbing them with rubbing alcohol. It will lift any water base or acrylic paint very quickly and save you a lot of work.
Don't you need brass door plates too keep the handles from being loose and wiggling around? Impressive work Ed and Anna, well done, little tip from Les Jeromes TH-cam channel, they grind up any unused facing stones to a sandy consistency and mix it with colour correct lime mortar and use it to repair missing chunks and chips of stone on the facade of their chateau, would be great for the holes left by the old shutter wall hinges.

When I was in France (not far from Bordeaux), I loved the shutters being closed at night for light control. The curtains just didn’t block enough light. Also, for security, shutters serve well. From sunny and hot Brisbane.
The bells sound pretty. The shutters look so beautiful and I love the little ladies and the blue painted shutters. The blue with the color of the stone is so French. The antique doorknobs are pretty, and the design is not only clever but they saved many a knuckle. I hope your back continues to improve, Edd. Love this episode, curb appeal makes such a huge impact. Did you see Peter and Anna’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” episode when he built new huge barn doors in this style? It was amazing too. I love the French blue color.
Although the windows are much more secure, I can see that it would be desirable for functional shutters. In case of strong storms, etc. I think you do a great job. Really appreciate all the attention to detail. Thank you for sharing!!
There is a lot of work in those shutters but they will be beautiful. Putting the jewelry on the house is the finishing touch. I learned something new about door knobs also. Hugs

Have you tried cleaning paint off hardware in a crockpot? I’ve never done it myself but I’ve seen in on rehab shows of historical homes. They cover the hardware with water in a crockpot, a couple spoons is dish detergent, cover and cook overnight on medium. That just fascinates me some reason. 😂 I imagine you’d close the shutters if the home were unattended for length of any time or bad weather to protect the windows. It’s all looking amazing.
A am sorry about your back. I have a disorder that causes bones ligaments and dislocations so lots of pain. I take frakensense and myrhhh tablets it helps and use frankensense and myrrh andcopiabia essential oil . Found it on Pinterest when I was desperate you can make a cream.
