2023 update - w avast there was no magnifying glass and ability to upgrade to a deep scan. I just used the smart scan because that was the only option.

Then I have Macintosh HD Volume Group (done), Mackintosh HD APFS System Volume - APFS, Macintosh HD APFS Startup Snapshot and Macintosh HD - Data volume. Should I also do RUN on the Fusion and Container?
I recommend AVG and Trend Micro. Avast scored well on av comparatives testing, but I have heard, not sure if it's true, that they ad adware to your Mac from their webpage.

You have to click on virus scan. That’s where it’ll show deep scan.

try going to launch pad and find the folder titled 'other', it should contain disk utility :)

you can try to factory reset your Mac. He has a video on how to do that!
