So I saw this in previews 20+ years ago with my mom. It is my most fond memories. Mom and I had no idea what to expect. We saw the show for $65 in orchestra. I remember at the Act 1 finale just sitting there with my mouth wide open at Idina singing Defying Gravity! I have loved the show ever since!
@@doyouhearthepeoplesing2Girl Idina was the original Elphie for a reason!! She’s the voice of Elsa, played Nancy in Enchanted and is a world renowned Broadway and film actor! Let’s not be delusional now just because you don’t like her lol!
@brackthomasfischer6139 all of that was done in a recording studio with tonnes of autotune lol and actually she wasn't the original Elphaba that would be the legend that is Margaret Hammelton if you are going to be that picky also just because something is " original " don't mean it is the best
@@doyouhearthepeoplesing2 She was the original Elphaba on Broadway! Margaret Hamilton played The Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz (Which is my favorite movie!) Despite Elphie becoming The Wicked Witch of the West her character from the 1939 movie and the original book by L. Frank Baum couldn’t be more different! Also I’m a performer in musical theatre and I didn’t hear any auto tune in her voice in any of her recordings for Wicked, Frozen and Disenchanted! Also I’ve seen bootlegs of Wicked and she was amazing! Of course I’ve seen some of her off performances as well but everyone has off performances.
I was able to finally see Wicked for my 18th birthday and it was the most magical surreal show I’ve ever seen! Seeing videos like this always make me tear up because this show has had an impact on me and millions worldwide ❤
Ugly cry commence! I was in the last row of the Gershwin on October 30, 2003 and my life was so profoundly changed for good. Thank you so much for sharing this and rekindling the emotions I felt twenty years ago!
WOW, 20 years of a masterpiece that continues to inspire people in the way on how we see the world today as underdogs and standing for what is right. WICKED has been a huge part of me growing up and figuring out what I wanted in life. Lucky to have witnessed it 4 times on Broadway...... Going back for my 5th time on 3/5.... the first night of the new cast change..... Mary Kate Morrissey, Alexandra Socha, Brad Oscar, Donna McKechnie, and Natalie Ortega who are going to SLAY!!!! As an actor, it's still the goal and the dream to one day be part of this SWANKIFIED cast telling this story 8 times a week both at The Gershwin and on the road. "Boq" is my main persistence dream role. Not giving up!!!
I’ve been a Broadway wicked fan for years my first time seeing wicked it was November 2003 it’s been years I’ve been seeing wicked my favorite musical of all times I know the songs the lines and I feel wicked and it’s coming back to Detroit will soon
I got to see this is 2015! And it changed everything! I’ve been a fan of wicked since the beginning. It has allergy’s been my favorite Broadway show! Shoutout to those who made it what it is!!!!! Always sad stay defying gravity on stage!!!!!!!
Avenue Q is far more fun than this, and I'm glad it won the Tony Award for best musical. Wicked is a grand technical spectacular but nearly devoid of joy; good music though.

And then you heard a proper Elphie sing it and realised how BAD Idina is

I really hope you get it one day!
How boss would it have been if Kristin walked on and said "it's good to see me isn't it?"
I WOULD HAVE DIED
Omg lost opportunity right there
I think she's done this joke before elsewhere
I think she said that in the grand reopening.
@@vicentehizon6202 she didn't
the way I would've balled if Kristin Chenoweth went on the stage and said, "it's good to see me, isn't it?" omg I cant

I didn’t think that was Idina on stage at first. She’s one of my favorite vocalists.
I love Kirstin's outfit so much oh my gosh
It's so cute!! Thrilled Kristin & Idina were there!!
I would have loved to see the original cast of Wicked but blessed to experience it on the big screen!

Wait, wait.. look back.. I just went to Jersey Boys lmao 🤣... the title said 20 curtain calls.. shouldn't the proper title be the 20th Curtain Call?
Kristin looks like that Chloe Grace Moretz meme lol
How is Kristen walking in those heels???
Carefully. Very very carefully.
haha...... i wondered the exact same thing!! lol

They shoulda let Idina and Kristin sing or do something besides just wave. How fun was Kristin’s outfit?
Just saying, I’d have them sing something after they came out at the end
WTH with Kristen and Idina's outfits!??
Sorry to be the annoying comment, but please next time, keep your phone Still!!
But yet, they should’ve casted them for the movie instead.

@@barbraseville8984 Wicked does have a good story, for sure. I just found it dark and sour, for want of a better term.
