I have plenty of papaya in my tree but my problem is when ripening it’s full of live worms. Reading about it was able to understand that they are the fruit fly pupas. The flies lay egg in the flower and as papaya grows they hatch and become pupa. Some fall prematurely and it’s affecting every single fruit on that tree.
Also read that by cutting the tip of the main root, the plant will produce plenty of fruits and not just flowers. Haven’t tested it though.
If you have any tips to make it worm free, please share. It seems this is a problem with all papaya farmers in Florida.
