Many countries in the world are participating in China' s Belt and Road Initiative which, in a nutshell, is an economic development project. Its goal is to improve people's lives. The Philippines, under BBMarcos leadership, has opted out and sided with the USA' s goal of maintaining its hegemony , hoping that it will be assisted by the USA and its vassal states to likewise improve its economy. For me, whether this is right or wrong is not the point. The critical issue is the avoidance of armed conflict in the Southeast Asian region and that the Philippines WILL NOT be used as a proxy or a tool to further the USA' s imperialistic goals that have brought so much death and destruction in many parts of the world.
