You are so deserving of everything. You help in so many ways. Everything you touch turns to gold. Oh and I cannot thank you enough for recommending the Wedding Bouquet flavoring. It is like liquid magic. I am in love!!!❤
I love the time and care you take with each cake. It really helps when you explain to look past the picture when tracing out the fondant. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜 PS i love the curlys.
Thank you so much for your tutorials Karolyn! You’ve helped me with so many tips and tricks for my own business! Could you possibly make a compilation of how much you charge for individual fondant pieces? I’ve gotten my cake pricing down but having a bit of trouble charging for fondant characters, stripes, ruffles etc!
Ooo😮 I ❤ your 5 pattern technique, wow no need to buy a pattern guide tool… This Minnie cake is super adorable, the best part about making custom cakes are the look on the customer’s face especially when the customer is a child, they’re reactions are the cutest!
Karolyn, I love you so much. I wish I lived by you, to take in person classes, or just become bffs!!!😂❤ I don't remember if you use a projector for anything? Or you just trace/cut it out. I seriously am amazed by you!!!❤❤❤❤
This is such a cute cake! I love watching your videos. I'm not a beginner decorater but I'm not an expert either. My mom loves Betty Boop and I've tried making her a cake with a butter cream transfer and it was ok. She loved it but i wasn't to happy with it. I've never made a cake with fondant i think i am intimidated by it. You make it look so easy.
I wasn't always this good at it! I was a beginner once. It takes time, practice and patience. But you will get better with every cake you make! Here's a video where I show some of my beginning cakes: th-cam.com/video/4KpfwiTrXNg/w-d-xo.html
I have loved watching your vids! I'm just a grandma learning to bake cakes for birthdays. Do you have a recipe for a white cake? Or do you mainly use yellow cakes , even for weddings ?
Let me just say that i look forward to watching ur videos. I have been trying to use these methods for my cake decorations and toppers. Its not easy..lol..but i know as i do it more and more it will get easier.
It's a simple process, but not easy (at first). But it really does get easier with practice! I know I make it look easy, but I've been doing it for years. Keep going, you got this! 💜🙏
I love the trace and cut method. So useful to make any image come to life! Have you thought about starting an Amazon store front? Anytime you recommend a tool I immediately go on Amazon and I put it in my cart. I would love for you to get credit for that sale. Thanks for all you do!!
Thank you! I'm trying to figure out how to set up a store front, I have a business account and haven't been able to figure that out yet. But in every video, I link all of the products that I use in the description box! So you can click the amazon link in the description and I would get credit that way. I appreciate your support!
I made your cake recipe tonight and it's delicious but I need your help. I used 4 , 8 inch cake pans and started checking after 30 min. Two sank ! I left in 5 more min but they were all different sizes. Do you decorate while they are still a Lil cool from freezer? I even used the wet pan wraps. I made two batches so my pans were pretty full. Maybe I didn't cook long enough. How much time for 4 8 inch cakes? Ty so so much !
When I bake, I use heating core nails in the center of the pan. The nails heat up and help bake the cake from the center, while the sides of the pan bake it from the outside. The cake will rise more evenly with the nails. Here's the ones I use: amzn.to/3JCRLFO
Also, I bake in 2" high pans. When I bake 8" cakes, I don't check on them until 45 minutes has passed. (Baking at 350F). If you open the oven too soon, the cake could sink. Also if you close the oven door too hard and it rattles the cakes, they will sink. I hope that helps!
Omgosh that helped me so much ! I will try again ! You're an awesome teacher! So for 4 ,8 inch cakes I use two batches . I should wait 45 min to check on all 4 , right? Sorry so many questions ❤
Do you ever use an airbrush on buttercream? Wanted to spray a pearl color over the white buttercream, and was not sure if it would work. I have seen it done on fondont.
Yes! Although, just be careful airbrushing in the warm months. You don't want the cake to sweat because the color will drip. If it's warm where you are, make sure you keep the cake in air conditioning!
I rarely make square or hex cakes because of all the edges! They are really time consuming (to ice in buttercream and get sharp edges) so I don't like making them. I'm sorry I can't help you with this!
It's just regular paper! If you're finding that it's ripping, your fondant may be too soft. Try adding a little more tylose / gum tex powder and see if that makes a difference!
@@KarolynsKakes thank you so much dear you reply my question.I wanted to make it for my daughter birthday party. Iam also home baker and taking orders so it will help me .Thanks a lot.🙏
I haven't searched all of your videos, but have you ever talked about using copyrighted images? At work, they are so strict on not using them. I had to do only bows on a Mini Mouse cake, We always say we can't do, for example, a Star Wars cake, but we can do a space themed or Star Wars-esque cake and they can buy a topper. If there were a way to know I was legally OK when using images, it would be great.
If you enjoy my tutorials, I'd be so grateful if you could Buy Me A Coffee!

Love youuuu!! 💜🙏
So pretty! I have a Minnie Mouse cake in June. I did recently make a bunch of curly’s for a cake, they are fun to make😁
They just make everything look festive! 🙌🙏
I’d love to see your ‘sketched design’ for a cake like this.

For your stencils do you use paper? I tried your tech ugh and the paper just rips and I don’t get the shape in the fondant 😢
Could you show us how to stack a hexagon shaped tiered cake? And also the best ways to cut and serve the slices please?
I rarely make square or hex cakes because of all the edges! They are really time consuming (to ice in buttercream and get sharp edges) so I don't like making them. I'm sorry I can't help you with this!
What did you print Minnie mouse out on? Was it a special kind of paper cause I tried your technique with regular paper and it just ripped on me. 😅
It's just regular paper! If you're finding that it's ripping, your fondant may be too soft. Try adding a little more tylose / gum tex powder and see if that makes a difference!
Can you make Bluey cake
I haven't had any requests to do Bluey, but if I do, I will film it!

Hi. Do you dry the toppers before apply it ?
Yes, I usually let them sit out at room temp, exposed to air (not wrapped up), for about 24-48 hours to make sure they can stand on their own. 😊
Why does my paper stick to the fondant?
Your fondant is too soft / sticky. Sounds like you need to add more Tylose / Gum Tex Powder.
$150 for fondant work alone!
