Hi Maria, to be honest we didn't even see that this text was on the back of the trucks. The workers drove to the factories themselves, i was really had to understand what there work entailed due to the poor translation on our phones. Awesome video. It inspires me to make better bicycle touring videos myself. Touring like this is one way to truly experience different countries. Taking a bike on a plane is always a bit of a pain. You did such a goos job packing them up with what you could get your hands on. Lately we've been using bike bags (big plastic bag) and so far it has been very successful and saved us most of the dismantling and reassembling. However, in Colombia they initially refused to accept them. We had to stretch wrap them at the airport (worst idea ever, but bikes made it home intact). Happy trails. I'm hoping to tour in Thailand too with my wife (next winter hopefully, if Covid is done with).
Hi Jorg! Thank you! So do you always take the bags with you while you're on tour? And do you also protect the front fork etc? Thailand is great for touring, you will love it there (if you havent already been there) 🙂
@@WheelstoWander The last couple of tours we did, we found someone to hold our suitcases and the bike bags for us. Each time we were in Colombia for two months. I usually secure the fork to the frame and ad some padding to the derailleurs. Pedals come off and the cranks get secured in a position where they are least likely to get dinged. We've never been to Thailand, but my cousin always raves about it. Do you get by with English?
Hi Jorg! Sounds like a good packing strategy 👍🏼 We (I Eric) perhaps overcomplicate things here and there 😉 People are very relaxed in Thailand so even if they don't speak English somehow you will get your point across or miraculously somebody appears to translate!!

I look forward to watching your trip across South-East Asia. I cycled thousands of miles in the area over the past 10 years. I really enjoyed Thailand. Laos and Vietnam. But in recent years the increase of pollution and road traffic make the cycling experience less enjoyable. Ah ah a night at the Wat comes along with barking dogs and chanting monks... A clean room in the Thai province costs less than 10 euros for 2 or 3...
Haha, you're experienced... yes actually this was one of the few times we camped in SE Asia because the hotels are so affordable! Very busy indeed... especially Vietnam, it was not pur favourite country. Luckily there are still a few unspoiled and quiet gems...
