I got Bipolar too and have tremendous respect for people who choose to be in relationships with this type of disorder. It isn't easy juggling the two considering how all consuming bipolar can be.

    This is a great video
    Thank you for making it
My ex got rid of me before I was diagnosed Bipolar, im doing great now and on my third wife. The first two lasted 10 years each, i have the right meds (25 years now) and born again more than 30 year's. I got kicked off Facebook from a online Bipolar support group for being a felon, it was a big blow to me I can go on but I'll end it here with I'm doing great now. Bless the both of you.

Thanks for sharing your story. The mark of character is not how you act when things are going well, but when facing challenges. The great thing is that you have each other and you've overcome your problems, rather than throwing in the towel. I've had to deal with this terrible illness on my own because it's ruined my attempts at starting new relationships and become a major hang up. Even so, I'm really well and I'm not on any meds- haven;t been for years. The world hasn't ended.

You guys are awesome....as a bipolar type 2 I struggle a bit with acceptance. Its getting better but this story helps. Also I prepare and more aware of when a episode is about to occur. Im forever grateful for finding this video.

Steven Arthur, I am bipolar too! It took me a few years to accept it but after I did, I was able to free myself in a sense that I don’t feel ashamed about it anymore.

I wonder if the bipolar condition affected their child’s development?

My severe depression lasted 8 years from 2005 to2013. I could not work during this time. 2016 was a lot of cycling between depression and mania. I have had hypomanias where I go on shopping sprees which my husband doesn't understand and is angry about. I had to drop out of college and did a lot of jobs in phone work like customer service and surveys over the phone which I now do. We can't make ends meet because my husband had to take a pay cut with his new job. It's hard to go on dates and have a regular sex life with the depressions and hypomanias. I cannot work a lot and I cannot get on SSDI . I was denied 3 times.

Keep trying for SSDI, it took my father 6-7 tries to finally obtain it. Eventually they have to relent.

You all sound like you have good intentions. However, I'm certain that the psychiatric drugs actually caused many of the problems that you encountered. Being locked up in a psych ward is a very traumatic event in itself. What you refer to as illness and sickness all boil down to problems in living. Unfortunately, psychiatry is there to offer a label to give you a false sense of understanding the problem. Your problems in living cannot be fixed by psychiatrists prescribing mind altering drugs. I'm glad that you recognize the power imbalance that is created by the system in place. Many times this power imbalance occurs in combination with malice on the part of a supposed loved one who has bought into the lie of psychiatry. The result is broken relationships and broken lives. Long term use of psychiatric drugs will ensure your inevitable return to the psych ward. The best thing to do is eat healthy, exercise, sleep, and practice healthy habits and minimize unhealthy things in your life. Make sure you have trusted Jesus Christ as your savior, or you will burn in hell forever when you die anyway.

Have you ever experienced clinical depression? My husband has battled with it for over20 years. It is finally comforting to be told this is a disease. Not helped by people making you feel guilty. Many churches have made it worse. It is finally comforting to be in a church where people realize that in this life we will have tribulation.
