  • Take a look back at the last hundred years of hair accessories, from the decorative pins and combs of the 1910s and the bobby pins of the 1920s, to the afro picks of the 1970s and the scrunchies of the 1980s, here's how hair accessories transformed over the last century.

    • @prismaticqueenx
      @prismaticqueenx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      According to Wikipedia, the bobby pin was invented by Luis Marcus, a San Francisco-based cosmetics manufacturer, after World War I. WW1 ended in 1918 or 1919 (1918 if you consider the end of the fighting, 1919 if you consider 1919 Paris Peace Conference that set the peace terms for the defeated Central Powers). It was created between the end of the 1910s and the beggining of the 1920s, but made popular in the 1920s.

    I can’t be the only one that likes hair jewels, headbands with bows, and a really neat hairstyle where you just do a neat row of rubber bands on kind of like a long ponytail and make it rainbow colored. The style only works on long hair. I love hair combs and cute hair clips. I also like braiding my hair overnight and crinkling it and letting it fall in a ponytail in the morning. my mom also used to braid my hair with a ribbon and it looked really pretty afterward.
