She explains the songs right before performing them on Long Pond. I suggest finding versions on TH-cam where the explanation is included, it makes it even better. If you want to continue with the Long Pond, I suggest This is me trying (you must react to her explanation in this one). Edit: whoops, I recommended that one before seeing you want a happier one 😂
I think y'all are doing great even without watching her explain before the songs because Taylor is big on people taking her songs and getting from them whatever it is that they personally take from it! ❤️ If you want a happier or at least more upbeat sounding song specifically from the Long pond sessions I recommend checking out these: The 1, cardigan, august, invisible string, Betty Also, when listening to cardigan, august and Betty go into them knowing they are all connected. So think of it like a movie split into 3 parts from 3 different perspectives ☺️ oh also: the last great American dynasty I will add a little info about this one though - it's about a real woman that inspired Taylor and you find out through the song what Taylor's connection is to this person. Happy listening 🫶
Yes I was going to suggest the Last Great American Dynasty if you want to continue on with Long Pond. Or Invisible String. She’s broken up with that guy now but it’s a lovely song.
These reactions to her just keep getting better. I love how you guys see just how amazing she is as an artist and lyricist. You guys are amazing. Love Jake’s raw and real reactions.
I agree- art is there for interpretation. If you’re interested in the artist’s intention, that’s great. But most great artists like for people to interpret their work in whatever way it speaks to them.
For a happier vibe, can I suggest Daylight (Lover in Paris concert), Ready For It, I Did Something Bad & Don't Blame Me from the Reputation Tour. The Reputation songs have more of a badass FU vibe and Daylight is a song about finding love.
I just discovererd your channel and am truly impressed at your reactions. I am a 78 YO Swifty,. I really enjoy seeing people's first reactions to Taylor Swift. She is a generational talent and as you dig deeper into her music you will become even more convinced she is the best songwriter/storyteller in the business. Keep watching.
You are so right! As a newer Swiftie, I like to formulate my own interpretation. I think one of the best parts of Taylor's lyrics is they are adaptable to experiences we have or are going through. Thank you for pointing out that the commentaries are only on the Disney + version. I kept looking on YT for them 😅 Long pond sessions are my favorite along with any stripped down live performance.
if you want a happy taylor swift songs you should react to “New Romantics” “I Think He Knows” “Lover” “All of the Girls You Loved Before” “King of My Heart” “Fearless” “Sparks Fly” just to name a few.
The pianist is Jack Antonof (not sure I spelled his last name correctly). He and Taylor have collaborated on song writing and these studio sessions. He’s a great friend to Taylor.
i really hope we get an All Too Well (10 Minute Version) Lyric video reaction one of these days. Loved the reaction as always! sorry if some swifties might’ve put you off, but i’m here to support taylor and this channel. love your reactions!
I am so happy you guys like hoax. It is so underrated and one of my favourites on folklore. For happy songs I would say last great American dynasty is a fun one that’s very story driven. Lover, Paper Rings, The Best Day (she wrote for her mom for Mother’s Day), Change. Long Live (I cry happy tears every time) but it’s such a positive song that’s become the Swiftie anthem, a song about her, her band, and the fans.
Thought I knew EVERY TS song. Didn't know "Hoax". And these guys truly letting themselves FEEL her lyrics/mood: So Good! Do "Ready For It" and "Don't Blame Me" live from Reputation tour. It will bring you back to (happy 😂) life! That's the thing about TS. Lol. Like life, she slays you, & then ... shocks you back to joy with a different vibe! That's her superpower!
Your reaction is excellent. My husband, who likes Taylor's music, once asked me to please put together a positive TS song list. I came up with a playlist, but there are probably others who've been fans longer who can help. The ones that immediately come to mind are Paris, Invisible String (if you don't think too hard about the fact that they ultimately broke up Lavender Haze), London Boy, and 22. Thank you so much for doing these reactions!
The guy playing the guitar and piano is Aaron Dessner. He is one of my favorite musicians. He and his brother wrote the music for the movie Cyrano which was amazing! I read that Aaron also owns the Long Pond Studio. He and Taylor spoke about Peace before the song and he relates to it because of his mental health issues and he said “he is a difficult person to be in a relationship with”. I see Taylor must struggle in relationships because she is so famous and can’t offer that peace. Aaron is also in the band The National and they worked with TS on the song Coney Island, a favorite of mine from TS Evermore album. ❤
I 100% agree that you should be able to listen, enjoy, interpret, feel the music in your own way. Your interpretations thus far have been fair. I think Swifties just like to note Taylor’s truth behind the song for informational purposes. Her story of her previous label basically stealing her masters (her stolen lullabies) is not unique to just her, and it was (and still is) a huge deal. Either way, welcome to the world of TS. She has a huge following for a reason. Enjoy your time, it’s wonderful here 🥰
I love that you guys try and figure it out, it’s fun! And I love that you follow up after in the comments to see what ya got right and not… You’re right about Disney, but you should watch them even if not with us 😢😉
The interview that she did after singing that song, you guys should watch that. She talks about peace, and why she wrote it and what it means for her. Essentially, she gets hounded by the media and she’s never not going to be in a press bubble. Her life is always gonna be in a chase. And I guess there have been guys she stated that couldn’t handle that.
peace is my favorite song from folklore. my tears ricochet and this is me trying as well. if you want something upbeat and fun react to Don't Blame Me from the reputation tour. that specific performance is so fun and good!
You want happier songs?? Medium: Willow New Years Day Your On Your Own Kid Mastermind Ultra fun Pop: Paper Rings The LOVER music video New Releases: Now That We Dont Talk Is It Over Now? Bonus: Her cover of Phill Collins "Cant Stop Loving You" at the BBC radio 1 live show. Thank you for your reactions!!
Give your tear ducts a break and switch from "sad" Taylor to "mad" Taylor. "Mad Woman" from the Long Pond Studio Sessions shows Taylor at her bitter best.
You guys are my favorites! Thank you for letting me connect with people who love her music and watch you experience it! I have so many to recommend, but I think Ronan would break anyone.
Please do last great american dynasty from long pond, exile and 'the lakes' really is one for breaking down the english language tbh her wording is beautiful especially the line 'ive come too far to watch some name dropping sleaze tell me what are my words worth' shes on about a place she visited here in the uk called the lake district which as the name suggests weve got alot of big lakes within fairly close range of each other surrounded by moutains and peaks which a lot of english poets moved to the area to write their works, one being william wordsworth which is what her line is about whilst having a double meaning, she visited his gravestone and was inspired by his work and the surrounding area she was in :)
Regarding the comments from the beginning about My Tears Ricochet - leaving a label you’ve been with for over a decade, and leaving before/after such a betrayal as Taylor suffered, that IS a breakup! Just not a romantic one, friendship and employment breakups can be even more heart wrenching than romantic break ups.
Taylor albums tell a story supporting an overall theme so this song makes a bit more sense if you knew the songs leading up to it as the finale. This channel made me want to download TH-cam and subscribe for the first time in my life because I love it so much! 😂😂
I love these songs. The whole studio session is sooo good. The only really happy one on that album is “the last great american dynasty” I think? But that one is a serious treat, definitely one of my favs by her. If you want to break down in sobbing tears, try “Ronan” or “Soon You’ll Get Better” or (possibly depending on your personal experiences) “Bigger Than The Whole Sky”. I listen to those when I need to have a cathartic cry. “Forever Winter”, “Never Grow Up”, “The Best Day”, and “Fifteen” also make me cry, but I think that’s just me. Happy ones from other albums: “Our Song”, “Mine”, “Sparks Fly”, “Don’t Blame Me”, “Cruel Summer”, “Lover”, “Paper Rings”, “ME!” (Unpopular, but *I* love it), “Karma”, “Paris”… there are others, too, but I like those best, haha. Her live performances are always in another league, though.
I hope by now you guys realize that she's performing with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, two absolutely brilliant musicians in their own right. I think her music has matured so much since she began working with them.
Taylor said in the Long Ponds interview that going through that with Scott was like someone going through a divorce so she wanted to convey those feelings too so ya’ll were definitely on the right track. ❤
Taylor's worldwide stardom makes it very difficult for any man to handle a very un-peaceful life. Constant paparazzi, negative articles from the far right, people like Kanye and Kim trying to ruin her or Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun making 367 million on selling her Masters without her having any say in the matter. But mostly, I think Taylor just doesn't live a normal life with all the guards around her all the time. She has a hard time just going to a restaurant for dinner. Some men would say I can't live this way and you cannot give me peace. That is her fear. Hope Travis Kelce CAN handle it! She deserves a loving relationship. Love you guys, you all seem mature for your age and introspective. I'm here for it.
Hands down recommending New romantics for a happy next song (also strongly suggest closure as a not super sad but might make a tear well next one too just cause it’s chaotic production makes the metal lover in me very happy)
Just want to say, I think for Taylor, she expected people who wanted to watch Long Pond have probably already heard the album and want more, so don't worry about it! I do love Peace's explanation, one of my favorites, so I suggest you do look into it for yourselves! I will also say that they totally do not explain the background to My Tears Ricochet, so don't feel bad! They talk about the oblique impact of it, but not details.
From the same long pond studio sessions: invisible string & the 1!! I know you don’t want to watch what the song is about beforehand but maybe listen afterwards? It’s so awesome to hear her inspiration and what she put into the song!
If you’re worried about being copyrighted, even just to understand what message _she_ tried to convey, you could consider just reading the explanations on Genius
I would say react to “I know places” from the 1989 tour and “I did something bad” from the reputation tour, showing a whole other side of Taylor. I promise you would cry but be shocked how good it is!
If you need a little break from high-intensity emotion of the folklore and evermore albums, there are a couple of things I could recommend: - Don’t Blame Me (live performance from the Reputation tour) - Getaway Car (also the live performance from the Rep tour) - The music video for Blank Space. (Important to note on this one that it’s Taylor’s satirization of the way the media portrayed her as some sort of unbalanced, “serial dater”. So the video is very tongue-in-cheek.) - The music video for Look What You Made Me Do. (Important to note on this one that it’s taking shots and Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and the media whose brutal backlash, along with the Kim and Kanye “phone call frame job”, heavily contributed to Taylor’s “cancellation” in 2016. There’s A LOT going on in that video, but if you know that, you’ll at least have a general idea of what’s going on. Also helpful to know that during the phone call frame job, Kim called Taylor a snake and encouraged people to bombard her Instagram with snake emojis. After the “cancellation”, Taylor disappeared for about a year. The video for LWYMMD was her way of announcing she was back, highly pissed off and wasn’t going to take anymore s#%* from anyone. It, along with the Rep tour, was an ICONIC comeback. This video is another that demonstrates Taylor’s sense of humor and that she’s also willing to take shots at herself. 😊
A lot of ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ were written w Joe Alywn, her ex, who is an actor. Anyway, there is a reference to him in her new song (sad, fyi) ‘You’re Losing Me’. There is a line that goes “how long can we be such a sad song”. Basically all of them were! Their relationship died a sad, slow death. After 6 yrs, she wanted to get married and have kids. He said he never wanted to marry her.
I didn't see anyone tear you guys apart in last video 🤷♀️. I just everyone clarifying that Taylor already admitted she wrote My Tears Ricochet dedicated to Scott Borchetta, her old record label. Also, i LOVE having the same thumbnail look bc it's easier to spot your Taylor videos! ❤
Your video came up on my recommended videos and I’m so glad I watched. I so appreciate you as men being vulnerable with your emotions and really thinking so deeply and critically about how the song make you feel and getting the most from the music. I really look forward to your reactions in the future! It’s a heavy song, but tolerate it is absolutely amazing and will crush you but hits so deep. Some more positive songs can be found on reputation, 1989, lover, and midnights!
Paper Rings is amazing and I vidded it. I'm one of those who can't stand Stay Stay Stay though. She's glorifying being a toxic/abusive girlfriend as if it's a fantasy or at least a joke and to me it hits too close to home.
@@VioletEmerald I can totally see that for Stay Stay Stay. As English isn't my first language, I sometimes listen to music more in the sense of melodies than lyrics and I think that's why I like this one.

After listening to hoax with you guys (her most devastating song btw...well maybe loml has taken that medal now with ttpd) it started to sound to me like maybe her partner broke up with her or cheated but then came back to her. And she took him back even though what he did truly broke her. So so sad.
Something funny to me about the lyrics to Peace- Taylor says "there are robbers to the east, clowns to the West"- the W in West is capitalized, refering to Kanye West, the robbers to the east refers to Scooter Braun who bought her masters out from under her when she wanted to own them and had begged her former label head Scott Borchetta to sell them to her.
Lisa here again! You guys should react to my last recommendation which is the trilogy that is totally fictional. I intentionally picked it last time since I broke you guys with “my tears ricochet.” I promise no tears. Stick to the Long Pond Studio and do Cardigan, August, and Betty in that order. I wanna give you guys a hug….especially Jacob. Thanks for sharing your touching reaction. 🫶

But you may need to go with "Shake it off" for the next one 😂 "You Need to Calm Down"... and I like Blank Space. Lol. Those are fun!
They finished Peace like “glad that one’s over, I almost cried” and I saw the next song was hoax and then I really felt bad for them 😂

I will add a little info about this one though - it's about a real woman that inspired Taylor and you find out through the song what Taylor's connection is to this person.
Jake is so sweet 🤍 what a lover
Speaking of you guys would love lover
I agree- art is there for interpretation. If you’re interested in the artist’s intention, that’s great. But most great artists like for people to interpret their work in whatever way it speaks to them.
For a happier vibe, can I suggest Daylight (Lover in Paris concert), Ready For It, I Did Something Bad & Don't Blame Me from the Reputation Tour. The Reputation songs have more of a badass FU vibe and Daylight is a song about finding love.
hoax is her most underrated song ❤
I just discovererd your channel and am truly impressed at your reactions. I am a 78 YO Swifty,. I really enjoy seeing people's first reactions to Taylor Swift. She is a generational talent and as you dig deeper into her music you will become even more convinced she is the best songwriter/storyteller in the business. Keep watching.
Who is the emotional brother? I get you, man. Real men are not afraid to be emotional.
😂 the emotional brother is Jake
You are so right! As a newer Swiftie, I like to formulate my own interpretation.
I think one of the best parts of Taylor's lyrics is they are adaptable to experiences we have or are going through.
Thank you for pointing out that the commentaries are only on the Disney + version. I kept looking on YT for them 😅
Long pond sessions are my favorite along with any stripped down live performance.
if you want a happy taylor swift songs you should react to “New Romantics” “I Think He Knows” “Lover” “All of the Girls You Loved Before” “King of My Heart” “Fearless” “Sparks Fly” just to name a few.
Yes to all of these!
omg new romantics is genuinely one of my favourite songs ever
The pianist is Jack Antonof (not sure I spelled his last name correctly). He and Taylor have collaborated on song writing and these studio sessions. He’s a great friend to Taylor.
I just love Jake, bless his heart. ❤️
i really hope we get an All Too Well (10 Minute Version) Lyric video reaction one of these days. Loved the reaction as always!
sorry if some swifties might’ve put you off, but i’m here to support taylor and this channel. love your reactions!
"all these people think love's for show, but i would die for you in secret" is her most powerful line about love
6:30 love mr Aaron Dessner ❤️🩹
"we subject ourselves to the comment section" awesome. I am enjoying you experiencing Taylor. Thank You
Your reaction is excellent.
Peace is my fav song it was my no. 1 on Spotify wrapped up songs
And I love that you follow up after in the comments to see what ya got right and not…
You’re right about Disney, but you should watch them even if not with us 😢😉
Disney will steal our souls one day lol. Thank you for the love!! -J
I love your guys reactions. If you react to Taylor Swift, I promise I'll watch every single video you react to, Taylor Swift.
I second this
I adore Jake. So much. Folklore is his album. Love all these reacts.
You need to listen to the studio version of Hoax. She adds harmonies and it makes even more haunting.
You guys are too cute! It’s ok to show your emotion, that’s what a great artist does. Go ahead……..🤗
peace is my favorite song from folklore. my tears ricochet and this is me trying as well.
if you want something upbeat and fun react to Don't Blame Me from the reputation tour. that specific performance is so fun and good!
You want happier songs??
Medium:
Willow
New Years Day
Your On Your Own Kid

Ultra fun Pop:
Paper Rings
The LOVER music video
New Releases:
Now That We Dont Talk
Is It Over Now?
Bonus: Her cover of Phill Collins "Cant Stop Loving You" at the BBC radio 1 live show.
Thank you for your reactions!!
also for the ultra fun pop, new romantics
i always cry to new years day 😭
@@flor.mariaa new year's day is sweet and soft.
“thank god. i almost started crying” and you have no idea what hoax is gonna do. 😂
Give your tear ducts a break and switch from "sad" Taylor to "mad" Taylor. "Mad Woman" from the Long Pond Studio Sessions shows Taylor at her bitter best.
"REPUTATION" !!
Bless Jake and his tears, us Swifties get it! ❤
You guys are my favorites! Thank you for letting me connect with people who love her music and watch you experience it! I have so many to recommend, but I think Ronan would break anyone.
Really enjoying your reactions to TS guys. Keep them coming, I'm thoroughly invested now.
Please do last great american dynasty from long pond, exile and 'the lakes' really is one for breaking down the english language tbh her wording is beautiful especially the line 'ive come too far to watch some name dropping sleaze tell me what are my words worth' shes on about a place she visited here in the uk called the lake district which as the name suggests weve got alot of big lakes within fairly close range of each other surrounded by moutains and peaks which a lot of english poets moved to the area to write their works, one being william wordsworth which is what her line is about whilst having a double meaning, she visited his gravestone and was inspired by his work and the surrounding area she was in :)
oh poor guy :( so sweet
Regarding the comments from the beginning about My Tears Ricochet - leaving a label you’ve been with for over a decade, and leaving before/after such a betrayal as Taylor suffered, that IS a breakup! Just not a romantic one, friendship and employment breakups can be even more heart wrenching than romantic break ups.
Taylor albums tell a story supporting an overall theme so this song makes a bit more sense if you knew the songs leading up to it as the finale. This channel made me want to download TH-cam and subscribe for the first time in my life because I love it so much! 😂😂

This was beautiful ❤. Her voice and music are soothing.
Whenever she says "My Kingdom Come Undone " just absolutely brilliant i had never heard it said like that and it made so much sense.
If you want to continue with Long Pond, Exile w/ Bon Iver is amazing.
Just here watching some of yalls older taylor reactions 😂 Jake I'm with you 🙌💯♥️
Taylor said in the Long Ponds interview that going through that with Scott was like someone going through a divorce so she wanted to convey those feelings too so ya’ll were definitely on the right track. ❤
peace is my favorite Taylor song
Him crying made me cry 😢 love u guys
Jake is amazing!! Thank you for your honesty
Next from her studio sessions that you guys should react to --- August, Invisible String, and Seven, these songs have joyful vibes...
Seven KILLS me, that was my childhood. Like it was from the perspective of one of my friends who was trying to save me from all of it.
@@sarinasoren7818meeee
Seven is DEVASTATING what are you talking about 😭
Hands down recommending New romantics for a happy next song (also strongly suggest closure as a not super sad but might make a tear well next one too just cause it’s chaotic production makes the metal lover in me very happy)
I love you guys, this reaction was so good and amazing 😍😍 Taylor swift is amazing and such a good song writer💕
Cant name a happy folklore song, i think the least sad is the last great american dynasty, invisivle string and the one
Listen to Vigilante Shit. I love that song. It's sexy and she's pissed off. It's so good and it's a true story...again about her record label.
If you need a little break from high-intensity emotion of the folklore and evermore albums, there are a couple of things I could recommend:
- Don’t Blame Me (live performance from the Reputation tour)
- Getaway Car (also the live performance from the Rep tour)
- The music video for Blank Space. (Important to note on this one that it’s Taylor’s satirization of the way the media portrayed her as some sort of unbalanced, “serial dater”. So the video is very tongue-in-cheek.)
- The music video for Look What You Made Me Do. 😊
just want you to know that I never skipped even 1 advertisement on your reactions 😅 I really appreciate this.
Thank you!!
Do the NPR tiny desk next!!! It’s live and she plays 4-5 songs I believe.
SNL performance of false God is also great and isn’t like terribly sad.
Love your Taylor reactions! Keep 'em coming :D
Paper Rings and Stay Stay Stay are probably the songs that make me smile most
Paper Rings is amazing and I vidded it.
She also directed a short film for her song "All Too Well". Its incredible. Its supposed to be about Jake Gyllenhaal. That one is so magical. You get all the feels
I think peace is about her asking him ( Joe) if she will be enough. Even if they have to deal with the fame and her celebrity the rest of their lives.
After listening to hoax with you guys (her most devastating song btw...well maybe loml has taken that medal now with ttpd) it started to sound to me like maybe her partner broke up with her or cheated but then came back to her. And she took him back even though what he did truly broke her. So so sad.
A happy one… do “dress” from Rep tour ❤️
Ooooh, good suggestion
Ooo yeah
begin again is a beautiful and happy song, or maybe hopeful i should say
Something funny to me about the lyrics to Peace- Taylor says "there are robbers to the east, clowns to the West"- the W in West is capitalized, refering to Kanye West, the robbers to the east refers to Scooter Braun who bought her masters out from under her when she wanted to own them and had begged her former label head Scott Borchetta to sell them to her.
And she rolls her eyes for the clowns to the west as she sings it here.
Calm Down will Crack you up! Great video & song 😂
Hahaha I love the reactions! I love her 10 minute song about her short lived relationship with Jake Gyllanghall called All Too Well! Check it out! Beautiful story telling! But you may need to go with "Shake it off" for the next one 😂 "You Need to Calm Down"... and I like Blank Space. Lol. Those are fun!
Two heartbreaking songs in a row - oof
One of the best poets of our time.
I think you guys would love the "Exile" long pond studio session!
We sure did! Make sure you check it out! -J
I love when the men cry
Happy song, The best day, Mine, willow, sweet nothings
I really like your opinions and thoughts.. Love from Assam, India..😇😇🙂
you should definitely react to i visible string long pond studio & mad woman !!
