We’ve all been there. I really liked them together but one can never know the real dynamics. Love TS but we don’t know his experience and feelings. Gossips are not facts.
This was in a theatre-2,000 seats, all free. They were all like…prizes raffled to folks who bought the album or entered contests and stuff. She paid to perform that for everybody. (Since she had to pay for the theatre, pay her backup vocalists/band, etc. Not in this song, but in others.) I just think that’s cool. I mean, imagine buying an album and then winning a ticket to see all those songs performed live for the first time. Like…fuck, man, I would lose my mind.
I can't get over the fact she says "an arrowhead leading us home" and now she's with Travis who plays at Arrowhead Stadium. She manifested that man while singing about another man. 🙃
This song gives me chills. I was born on Cornelia Street, I lived on Cornelia St., some 18 years later my best friend lived on Cornelia St and later I was married in a church on Cornelia St. I am now in my 70s and live over 1200 miles from that little city in NYState. Her lyrics are so amazing. Btw you guys are awesome.
Taylor played this hour long concert in a theater in Paris two weeks after the Lover album came out. Most of the songs are from that album. The theater holds 2000 people. They could only get tickets through online contests or buying a vinyl album. The pandemic started after this concert. She never got to really promote or tour for this album. It was the first one she "owned."
This was performed at L'Olympia in Paris, which has a capacity of 2000-3000 people, so definitely a small venue for her. This is my absolute favorite live performance of hers. The emotion, passion, and energy she puts into it is just....🤌🤌🤌
All of her acoustic songs are her best imo. For each show of her Eras tour she always does an acoustic song on guitar and one on piano and they’re all brilliant.
If I remember correctly, her Lover tour was going to be a European tour with just a few stops in the U. S. Taylor was going to play in small theaters and festivals only - no coliseums. But COVID hit and her Lover tour was cancelled, so Lover never really had its moment.
It was stadium and music festival tour not theatre. She had a heart shaped stage for stadium, theatre crowd is too small to pay for Taylor performance unless there is live broadcast like this live from Paris.
The US was supposed to be Loverfest, it was 2 shows on the East Coast at Gillette Stadium and 2 shows on the West Coast at SoFi. I had pit tickets for Loverfest East night 1 😭
Today has been a very emotionally hard day for me I didn't think it was possible to smile. I got the notification that you posted this video not only is it one of my favorite Taylor songs but your banter with each other had me smiling and even laughing so thank you for doing what you do. I really needed this today. Love your videos every time ❤️ what you do changed my day.
Now I need you to react to the other two acoustic songs from this "live in Paris" concert, they are: Death by a Thousand Cuts, and Daylight... It has the same vibe and ambience, probably some of her best live acoustics...
It's interesting to think the reason why she did a theater stop in Paris was partially because she hadn't truly cracked the French market yet at that time, France was one of the only countries that resisted Taylor's music for quite a long time. She exploded in popularity over there the last 2-3 years, the Eras Tour's next stop is in Paris and everything is sold out, like everywhere else. The Louvre has fallen!
I'm going to continue talking about illicit affairs, my tears ricochet, champagne problems and tolerate it for the eras, because they are very good performances (and the truth is that I started to like these 4 songs because of this tour)
they don’t know, but there’s a person in Chile 🇨🇱 who loves their videos and enjoys their reactions very much, especially the Taylor Swift ones, and yes, that person is me :) I hope my english isn’t that bad, but I just wanted to say thank you for your channel cause you make me (a latina swiftie) very very happy
i just love to see how passionate she is singing! and what can i say about you guys??? always sooo light and casual in your conversations, i always feel like im watching three friends of mine just talk 🫶🏻 keep it up!
I think that Taylor is at her best in these settings. A relatively small venue with good acoustics and just her and an instrument. It really allows the power of songwriting to shine..
Jake bro, we're on the same page. Metal Taylor would be a dream 🤘 and there are definitely some of us that really enjoy and relate to the muso metal talk haha
This is the place she is taking about in You’re Losing Me, when she sings: “Remember lookin' at this room, we loved it 'cause of the light Now, I just sit in the dark and wonder if it's time”
This was from 2019 and she was playing in a very old Historical Theater for 3,000 fans. These types of performances with just her and the guitar or piano makes it feel so personal.❤ Stay safe
OH HELL YES this is one of my most favorite performances of her. rather than the Eras Tour, i would kill for an intimate acoustic concert. idk how much the ticket is 😅😅
Yes for Iz Somewhere Over the Rainbow! Best song ever. And this is one of my all-time favorite Taylor Swift songs. I even went to NYC to her apartment on Cornelia Street (after she had moved) to say I had been on Cornelia Street where she wrote that song!
I have just realised!!! 2:18 “As if the street lights pointed in an arrowhead Leading us home” Arrowhead Stadium is the home of The Kansas City Cheifs - Travis Kelce plays NFL for The Cheifs and is now dating Taylor!!! 😱😲👏😊
Thank you Carrie for the songs you suggested. Sometimes people suggest the lamest options for people who aren’t that deep into the lore 😅 and I’m just like, why?… lol why?? But her suggestions have been pretty great for coming into this “journey” 👌
Due to COVID, Taylor had to cancel the tour supporting her album "Lover," so it is believed she replaced the tour with a performance in September 2019 from the Olympia Theater in Paris. It was later aired on ABC in a one-hour special titled "Taylor Swift: City of Lover." The album "Lover" was written while Taylor was in a relationship with Joe Alwyn. It is thought that she wrote "Cornelia Street," and other songs on the "Lover" album for Joe. After they broke up, Taylor leased her townhouse on Cornelia Street for $45,000/month. The townhome was later placed on the market in 2023 for just under $18M.
I had no idea about the house!! That is a lot of money per month for a home. Geeeezzz!! So she put it on the market after she started to date Travis or right before? Just curious about the timing. If Travis helped her move on or if she did it on her own timeline. Everything is her timeline… I hope you understand what I’m trying to say. Poorly. But trying. 😂
@@NYandAZ I actually don't know the exact timing about when it went on the market. I'm just glad she is in a better relationship and appears to be so happy. Good for her!
The Olympia near Opera in Paris. Legendary story behind the venue; I've been there (not for Taylor). It holds maybe 2000 people, if it's a seated show.
Aw, I hope no one rips you guys apart in the comment section. You are just giving your opinion, respectfully. You are learning as you go. I, personally, love the dynamic of the three of you. Regarding this song, it is one of my favorites. Taylor gives really good acoustic performances.
Someone else recommended this but you should watch Wildest Dreams from the Grammy Museum because Taylor plays electric guitar there! Another suggestion, if you’re ready for petty Taylor 😂 is I Bet You Think About Me
Ps, she rented a place on Cornelia street while her place in TriBeCa was being renovated. She was living on Corneila street when she met and fell in love with Joe. This song basically means, if we break up, I’ll never walk this street again thst we are waking everyday while we fall in love. Pps, corneila street is the shortest street in all of NYC. It’s only as long as 1-2 buildings I think thebwhile street was as long as the place she was renting,
How did you guys know it was my birthday last Sunday?! I’ve been asking for Death By A Thousand Cuts and Cornelia Street literally for months but I’m a broke asssbtch and I love you guys so much for (unintentionally…but still very much appreciated) giving me one right before my birthday, and one right after! I’m gonna take it personally, regardless of what you say, Evan! Thank you so much! (You too Carrie/Kerry…I think it’s with a C but I’m not sure…I appreciate you!)
another AMAZING acoustic guitar performance from her is [Remastered 4K] I Don't Wanna Live Forever - Taylor Swift • Super Saturday Night 2017 • EAS Channel, one of my fav live performances from her, I know you guys would love it. It's from her reputation album era but funny enough she's using the same black guitar, so you're right it's definitely well used/loved
If you want to see hints of ‘Rocker Taylor’ react to Haunted LIVE on her Speak Now TOUR in 2011. AND less hinting and more straight out rock, do the remastered 4k version of We Are Never Getting Back Together on the 1989 tour.
Haha you guys ARE it! Y’all bring personal knowledge of music that a lay fan like me really appreciates. As well quips and banter that a comedy aficionado like myself approves of 👏 #totalpackage

Since you're enjoying the stripped down versions, you should watch the Grammy Museum performances. I think you did Wildest Dreams already? That one is just her and an electric guitar. There's also Blank Space, just her and a guitar and Out of the Woods, just her and a piano. There's a super interesting talk first about the making of 1989. Not sure it makes for a riveting TH-cam reaction video but since you enjoy the behind the scenes stuff, watch it just for fun if anything ;)
When a mega touring artist do stripped down acoustic solo performance, then u realise why they are the superstar they are.
Well said!
Absolutely!
She started this way though since 14
She went from “I’ll never walk Cornelia Street Again” to now or soon to be “So Long London”. I’m so excited for her new album!!
and from ''I don't wanna lose you'' to '' stop, you're losing me''
I cannot wait for TTPD reactions omg
