The book is also "Period correct" when sitting on a Preserved Railway platform or on preserved passenger coaches. And you can thank books for coach lighting...
It was great to see on all the ultra-realistic setups, with tri-ang and early hornby railways designs! A bit of weathering and they blend in fine. Just proves that they aren't quite toys and that the new options, that you mention shall burn any pocket, aren't always necessary to make a superb layout come to life. Hopefully see you at the middy over the next week or two Best wishes Will
There were some excellent layouts this year. I particularly liked the Old Elm Park layout with its view inside the steam roundhouse shed. The train fun continued after the show as we went to watch Clun Castle doing its Polar Express runs with a heritage diesel assisting on the mainline by my house.
Someone in the UK did the entire Norfolk southern heritage units That is some serious dedication not only to get all those models, but get all of them in England
Cheers for the glowing review of Brian Street, still very much a work in progress, the helix were a necessity for our clubroom, all built from scratch by a couple of us over several club nights and is pretty unique for a exhibition layout
Wonderful thank you for filming this Laurie so much inspiration. I have never managed to complete an entire layout, they just have so much going on in them, I might just build a micro layout just to say I have completed one. The trouble is I have started a 16mm scale garden railway and that is epic, but the problem I have with that is it is either too hot, too cold or too wet at the weekends!
I thought I saw you wondering around the layouts, just wasn't sure at the time. Thanks for sharing your footage, plenty of layouts I didn't manage to see that weekend as I was too busy looking for a Black 5 and beer 😂
Interesting that you had an early fascination with the Tay Bridge disaster. The very first text that I could read by myself was the page devoted to it in the Ladybird book The Story of the Railways. With particular emphasis on the last sentence "There were no survivors".
I have some of the ladybird books I was given to me by my Uncle. One is actually on how the railways are run (in BR blue era) and a general one about the locomotives inner workings. I love them for the beautiful painted pictures in them.
Some really neat layouts there and definitely gave me some inspiration. How excited was Lawrie about Rapidos Y7 announcement? I'm really stoked on it. Cheers
Wow, can't believe you got Davros to voice your ad. Thought he'd be busy exterminating with his Daleks. Great ad and great vid, mate
We go way back me and Dave (as he used to be known)
Lawrie's Mechanic LOUIS SHIRLEY love 😍 😍 😍😍😍😍😍
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you Lawrie for a most entertaining video - everything just right - great shots and unobtrusive commentary.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

That's good points for the next one!
Lovin' the train sets, same as you. Plenty moving to keep people's attention and I bet the kids loved them!
Yeah, it's just fun. What things like Triang started off doing

Oh really? That would have been something else!

Still got my Lawrie smiles upon you card. Great to meet you 👍
That'll become a collectable one day 😂
Was really cool to bump into you and have a chat. I was bloody knackered after 2 days wandering.
I bet! It was a big show!

Ah, that's a shame, should have come said hello!
Perfect slow TV 👍
Good to have in whilst you do something else!
I was there on theSunday operating DAventry MRC's 0n30 layout 'Snowy River' I'll try and be there for both days next year. With a big wad of cash...
I think I might have missed that :(
If your travels ever take you to Hamburg, you should pay Minatur Wunderland a visit.
It is massive, I spent the whole day there.
I'd like to do that!
Interesting that you had an early fascination with the Tay Bridge disaster. The very first text that I could read by myself was the page devoted to it in the Ladybird book The Story of the Railways. With particular emphasis on the last sentence "There were no survivors".
That may well be the same book as I had!

i know the club that owns that massive O gauge layout their called sour valley model railway club
Oh really? It was super impressive!
The book? I love that product!
Amazing bit of technology isn't it
Awesome video! I went there on the Sunday nd it was great! I met a couple of fellow TH-camrs which was great as well! 😁👍
It was a great day out!
Lovely video
Thank you very much!
Go look at Chadwick model railway on TH-cam to see his layout with two helix at both ends of the layout and Mckinley railways where there are several
I will do

Very excited! I've driven both of the survivors!
Well lawrie goes retro might be a good idea for a new series lawrie and the railway book review
Have thought about it
How many times does Lawrie get thrown out of model railway shows for staying too long?
Too many times but I guess the event at Statfold Barn Railway was a exception as he was a exhibitor.
Everytime
@53:30, what kind of bogie vans are those?? and can i buy some for OO?
I think they're GWR Siphons. Pretty sure you can get them in oo
@@lmm welp, time to go spend even more money lol
😎😎😎👍
👍
Goes a little Loco
If I was having a go, yes
I have a US outline layout, and I live in the UK.
Oh that's cool! Not that often you see it over here
Great coverage although the introduction left a little to be desired, fortunately fast forwarded rather than switching off.
People don't want an intro, they want model trains!
