For an expansion, USD$40 seems reasonable, specially coming from this company. I just hope for more bosses like Maliketh. Funnily enough, my 2nd and 5th playthroughs were the best. Not having to do everything meant that I had control of where I wanted to go, explore what I wanted when I wanted. Learning boss patterns and sticking to pure melee showed me that, in fact, anything is viable. And co-op is just hilarious, that's worth another couple of hours.
@@Abstrahues considering level design is Fromsoft's speciality, I think you'll get lots of that. Genuine question, why is Elphael one of your favorite dungeons?
Judging from the trailer, I feel like as if we won't get something like Leyndell/Elphael because of the color palette being used in the DLC, they went dark again like Dark Souls 3 which I don't like. I like the brighter color palette in the base game. High Fantasy > Dark Fantasy basically. I hope they never revert back to the old art styles. But to answer your question. I loved the level design, so much verticality as it opens up the more you explore, the atmosphere and music is almost the best in the game. No other level in the game made me feel that way even though I truly enjoyed Stormveil and the underground levels.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to play ng+ in ER. It’s a misguided decision people make out of ignorance. It’s not like in the souls games where ng+ offers exclusive items. In ER, making a new character and going thru the game with a new build and new weapons is the best way to get the most mileage.
Outside of DS2, NG+ never makes meaningful changes nor add meaningful content to justify. It's always about using your endgame tools to destroy most of the game and struggle a bit.
