Hi, Selena an Mom- great to go on a trip with you 2! Selena, remember that i live in a house from 1898? That tapestry/ needlepoint thingie you found is a bell pull. It was used to summon servants waiting for orders in a nearby hallway. So it would be a real conversation piece in your Victorian!
Yes...maybe it signals for the next course of food to be served. I was told it was a servants bell.

That long Victorian tapestry is how rich people would summon their servants. They’d gently tug that tapestry, and it would ding a bell in the kitchen/servants quarters.

I love the "it might fit for you but not for me!" 😅 She cracks me up!! It reminds me of when my Grandmother and I would go out together all the time when she was alive! She was like a second Mother to me and we always had a blast! Eating out was our favorite part! 😊

You two are too darned cute! Selena, I have gotten much comfort from watching your videos from a couple of years ago. I was diagnosed with breast cancer about 3 weeks ago and it sure has been an emotional roller coaster since that afternoon when I was given my results of a biopsy. Watching you fight and conquer and get back to a wonderful “normal life” again has been so very inspiring and comforting to me. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It is appreciated ❤️

I think the silk kimonos might be something that was brought back by someone in the military. Service men would bring these presents back for their wife’s and sweethearts. Those kimonos are definitely vintage if not possibly antique. What an awesome garage sale find! Priceless

I have needlepoint bell cords that my aunt from Holland made me. The Dutch call them schellekoord.They hang in my dining room and serve as the dinner bell. My grandkids love to ring the bell before Sunday supper.
