  • Common causes for laser axis grinding. Limit switch issues are the most common cause of grinding during the homing sequence closely followed up by wires and drag chains getting snagged on rails and pulleys. Checking that all parts are properly connected, wired, moving freely is key to consistent operation.

    Good video! We had a problem grinding and moving past the limit switches. The limit switches were lighting up, but it still drove past the switch and grinding.. I watched another video that said to adjust the switch to make sure it' smoved closer to the metal that triggers the switch.. I did that and FIXED IT!.. Lights still coming on the same as before, but it doesn't over travel. There was nearly 1/8 inch distance when I started and very little after. Anyway, hope it helps someone!

    Thank you, I've been trying to work out what was causing this for about a week, watched this video and took less then a minute to fix

    Hi my name is Patrick. I live in England. I have a co2 lazer machine and put the rotters on but when I go back to doing normal lazering it still thinks it's in rotters mode can you help please.

    I really wonder how reliable these machines are.

    great video! So my limit switches are not red when i go into the diagnostics but when i put something over them they turn red. This means i just need new switches?

    • @BeardedBuildsCo
      @BeardedBuildsCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, if they are turning red when you have a metal object over them then they are working correctly. You need to make sure the rails are clear and there is nothing stopping the homing process.

      How did you fix your switch?

    Are the limit switches normally open or normally closed ones?

    • @BeardedBuildsCo
      @BeardedBuildsCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally open. If you look at the diagnostic screen they should turn red when they are activated.

    I can manually move my head to the limit switch and it activates. Red light shows on switch and it shows up in diagnostic. However, I can continue to move the head to the right even with the limit switch being red. It senses it, but doesn't stop the head. Any idea why this would happen?

      Is this after your machine has successfully homed? If you press the reset button on the controller what happens?

      @@BeardedBuildsCo it is when the machine powers on and it try’s to home. Mine is a large laser. A 5’ x 10’ bed

      @@BeardedBuildsCo I think I have either a bad sensor r he wire is loose. I noticed today that the sensor was flashing off and on as the gantry moved.

    my rear sensor quit working randomly, i replaced it and still did the same thing, what i found was the metal thats on the gantry doesnt trigger the switch. i ended up having to attatch a piece of sheetmetal to the bottom of the gantry o it would trigger. mind u this machine is brand new and it did this. im not sure if something fell off or what. it worked fine but when i ran leds around the perimeter it started doing this. i looked everywhere and didnt find anything in the bottom of the machine.

      Mine is doing this brand new off the pallet. X axis grinds into the limit as soon as I turn it on.

      @@BeardedBuildsCo I can stop the homing on X with a screwdriver over the limit switch. The metal part on the head of the gantry that's supposed to trigger the switch doesn't trigger it at all.

      @BeardedBuildsCo  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Impsucks is the switch set too low to be triggered by the metal on the gantry?

      When you turn the machine on put something metal over the switch. Did it stop the axis?
      If not then there is something wrong with the sensor.
