I love this and I'm going to riff on it for my own anvil. The only change I would make is the lever you bend down to grab and pull up, I'd make that a pedal you step down on, I'm getting older too, and bending down gets less attractive every year.
I thought about that but I wanted a bolt that has threads all the way up so I could take the whole thing apart if I needed to. I did use an electroplated bolt not a hot dip so the risk is pretty negligible ( if you're only doing one bolt). I'm sure there's more crap floating around my body from the bag of microwave popcorn I had the other day. lol.
l'd like to see from start to finished product, like blacksmiths did in old times (before industrial revolution). l've seen several youtubers trying to do that, but l find them a bit lacking info and knowledge how to do it properly. But when you mentioned, l wonder if you (generally speaking) can heat normal saw blade, and cut it while hot without losing properties of good, springy steel?
You have a problem, you think about it, you solve it. Love your channel. Glad I found it.
your channel is an awesome resource. thank you
Very interesting work around to a problem. Thanks for sharing your insight and innovation.
Blessings friend
Crawford out 🙏🏼🔥⚒️🧙🏼
I drilled a hole from the side on the anvil and threaded and put a bolt, that works really good
that looks really useful. thank you for the very informative videos.

The thinking mans Tubal Cain 👍
Very neat idea! Elegant and works well...
Kind of scary to see you heat up a galvanized screw?!
Thanks for reminding me that!

@@df-intheshop330 Agreed, just take care :)
Can you make some time a video of making a saw blade for woodworking?
Are you interested in forging a saw blade or just need help with how to recycle an existing blade into something else?

Ah yes, the inevitable getting old. I just watched that Tyson vs Jake Paul fight. Even Tyson can't do what he used to.
Very nice idea Denis, should work well.
