- I made rivet nut tool from profile pipe and bolts because the instrument i purchased in the store was useless and i needed fast solution. Material list:

But you can use a bolt with a nut to do exactly the same thing! Yes i tried but if the bore is not very accurate then rivnut turns and do not tighten.
4:23 i found out that so called "high tensile screws 12.9 (black color)" are way better as bolts (because i tried M3 , wehere normal screw just breaks, and where you need high tension bolts so it works), just google on ebay or amazon for it, they arent expensive

This looks awesome, it's far more compact than riv nut insertion tools and it looks more accurate than the threaded coupler method shown in several in several other videos.
But most of us don't have all the equipment to make this. You should sell these things, they would be great for van life people.

It is simple,but not for non diyer's. I need control to keep from rocking as I install.just used old method first time in my truck bed,awkward to reach over top rail and keep stable,this with thick handle has great potential will be sure to copy! Thank you.
Get a hex threaded coupler for a larger diameter threaded rod as a spacer tube.
Epoxy a pan washer on the bottom end. We all have some of these that we never use for anything.
Epoxy the closed end of the matching size box wrench from a cheap set over the coupler as a handle.
Add the bolt and a loose washer.
Use it with a rather or a low speed power tool

I bought the same rivnut tool......now I also need to make one of these. Mine lasted for 7 nuts!
But its only for 1size. And im lazy to make another size. Im consodering to buy proper tool, because i almost earned enough with this video to buy one 😄

This reminds me of the insert tool that the company bought when I drove truck 30 years ago to put the threaded inserts in except that use the T handle instead of the ratchet it was made or sold by a snap on tools yes I’ll copy this and have a better deal than the hand tool I’ve got now

My english is not that great to talk in video. the problem with the wrench and rivet method is that often the rivet rotates with the nut and it fails to fasten. the rivet does not rotate with this tool
