Greetings from Tasmania. I totally agree that a good sleep works wonders. I was just thinking today about the alternative of living in my van and house/pet sitting and decided that I am glad I chose to do what I am doing. Like you, I will stop when I know it's time to. Nothing is forever. Glad Abbie is much better as well Brenna.

Great video, I’ve been travelling for 4 years with my bestie Border Collie, I too stop when I feel she is not enjoying the wheels moving….I’m a little bit different,I bought a Motorhome to be my home, at the moment after two trips to the Daintree in NQ, I have decided to stop for 6 months in a beautiful CP by the beach…..here until March and then I’m off again to do coastal NSW……
Yes life throws us challenges weather In sticks and bricks or on the road…that’s life , love it you are alive….

Impressive trees Brenna! This was a really interesting vlog. There are seasons in our lives, and sometimes those seasons must come to an end in order for a new one to begin, but when in doubt, definitely sleep on it! 😉 It's amazing what clarity we have after a good nights sleep. I hope Abby is feeling much better. Thank you for the beautiful scenery too. Thanks for sharing & take care. ❤❤❤

I echo your sentiments and feelings exactly. I recently went out on a month-long test camping trip and I encountered lots of challenges physically. Lots of labor as you said. My back was killing me and I kept thinking how am I going to do this? There were also times that I was quite bored which was interesting. There were times where it got way too hot inside my rig and another time where it got down to 42° and was way too cold. I was challenged. I also had a homeless person bother me at 10:30 at night. Needless to say, I was tested for sure. But even after all that, the day that I went out to check out the snow and touch it, I thought wow this is worth all of the challenges to be close to nature like this. To me it is worth it. I am not full-time yet but that is my goal. I will remember your wise words to not give up too easily. And never make a decision when you're in the middle of an upset.

It doesn't matter what life we live, we all deal with the occasional existential crisis.
I've learned that everything that happens to me in life presents two choices: take it or leave it. If I choose "take it", I acknowledge it is my choice. If I choose "leave it", I figure out what it is I want to do about it and focus on that. This applies to everything. People, hobbies, lifestyles, clothing, food, entertainment... At the end of the day, if I'm not happy with something around me, it's because I haven't changed it. From there, I figure out what it would take to change it and if it's not worth the effort, I acknowledge that I have chosen "take it" and it no longer bothers me. It's either something I'm willing to put in the effort to change or it's not. If I'm not willing to do what it takes to change it, giving it any further thought is an exercise in futility and mentally bashing my head against a wall.
Abby looked so happy playing in the water!

I really enjoy this video, I have those feelings sometimes I'm lonely and having a hard time sometime, I think 2 puppy dogs but I still need to see my family and friends. Thankyou for your honesty and showing us all that we are human and experience all kinds of emotions at times. Being patient with yourself and kind is so important when things are hard. I totally understand how you feel I have a puppy golden retriever who doesn't really like travelling all that much so I tend to stay home or leave her and just do day trips. It would be SO different I think if she loved travelling. I think its just the initial getting in the van but hopefully she will learn to love it once I go more often. You are so inspiring to people and im sending you a virtual hug. My daughter lives in Broome and her favourite place is Nannup WA which Ive just looked is about 40 mins away. It looks beautiful and can see why it would be her favourite place, reminds me of the south coast NSW x

As you say, house living isn’t easy either. For me, the uncertainty of how I’ll survive once I reach retirement is a concern. I’m certain I’ll be moving to van life. So I’m enjoying having a home and garden for now because one day I won’t.

Thanks Brenna, that's a lovely spot you're in. I think anything we do in life is a day by day thing. Certainly if we're feeling emotional, that's never the right time to make important decisions. When I start travelling, I doubt I'll be on you tube, and if I were, I'd probably only post every other month. If you start off posting daily or weekly, it's what people come to expect, and sometimes, you just don't feel like it. I follow some who only post every 3 months or so, and because I like following them, I wait, I know they're coming back at some point. It's a huge commitment, so better to give yourself some breathing space. Glad Abbey's okay.

Brenna, for future reference..I had a wonderful vet up in Bundy years ago when I lived there and my dog had diarrhoea and he told me to give her a teaspoon of liquid mylanta ( which I always have on hand ) anyway, it fixed her right up. She even had blood too. Hope this helps you in the future. Cheers Non

One Tree Bridge: having a bridge was far easier than crossing on the log. :)
Having a sick pet is no fun, even in a house. Three times, in as many weeks, my old cat was spewing from both ends. I was sure she was dying, but each time, I cleaned up after her and told her to sleep it off. She survived, but is probably down to 6 lives.
Abby is lucky to be an adventure dog, so many new smells and many interesting walks. Plus, she gets to be with you a lot more, not alone while you go for groceries or to work.
Seeing her drink while standing in the river, then shake once out, was precious. :)

I wonder if you would sometimes consider doing a house sit and both of you have a break for a couple of weeks. There are always people looking for someone to look after their homes and it is often all the more so in the country or at regional remote places that you might love. Just a thought. A change is a good as a holiday.

I know, currently out on my first serious trip, and it's difficult.
Driving from the cold north, towards the more livable south, driving in a country where I don't speak the language, doesn't understand the written signs and are winging it constantly. 😂
There's been so many sleepless night, either waking up cold, or just not feeling relaxed enough to fall asleep (not sure if my park up was allowed)
I went with a car that wasn't finished, so no heater installed, just the cars own system, which means the engine needs to run and get warm.😅
This is the first night where I didn't wake up cold, but it's raining and cold now, so wondering if I should just head on south.
It's been 6 days since I left Norway, and I have driven around 2500km so far. (1553.428miles)
So my body is pretty exhausted, but I don't find any peace.
The easy part is driving, then I feel like calm for a while.
I need this, to go thru this experience, to push myself out and into uncomfortable feelings, to learn that I can.
It's so easy to just hide away at home, burry my head in the pillows and just not deal with fear.
Luckily I have viking blood, the need to travel, is always present. 😂
    And I don't like Norwegian winters. 😉
