Very inspiring channel. Like you, I have always questioned society and its values for women. In my lifetime (I'm 71, have been married and divorced, have had a partner for 25 years and I have grandchildren!) I am a professional musician and art is my hobby! I live in the USA and can't afford to retire from my job as a college professor. I'm still trying to design the life I have always wanted. I don't think I'm ready for van life, but your self reliance and creativity are really inspiring. Life is never easy for unconventional people. Probably the hardest thing to do is to figure out what makes you happy and then do it. I admire you and wish you the best.
I agree that a lot of women our age (I'm 62) are on this path of simplicity and enjoying our lives solo. We were all taught from a young age to take care of everyone else; partners, children, pets, neighbors, elderly parents, etc. Now that we have more time, we are embracing our freedom and enjoying our own company and interests...and it's GREAT!
You appear to me as a “Natural, Happy, Independent, Make it happen Lady” & I love to watch your videos because there is no pretending that life is any different from what you show for both you and Abbey. Keep on enjoying and I’ll keep on watching!
This was fun! You are truly a strong, open and authentic woman - and a Canadian too! Love your podcast and seeing Australia is a bonus. Also, Abby is such a sweet dog. Hope her leg heals quickly.
Aww dear sweet Abie. Big hug and love for her. Thank you Brenna for being so authentic. It really shows in your videos. Love the happy vibe that your art displays.
Hi Brenna and Abby I love saying " it's not always the way you start , but the way you finish " Personally I like comfort rather than luxury . I say too keep adding miles and smiles wherever you go Enjoy ( in joy ) 🕊 🎨🖌🐾🐾.....💌
Well, thank you for that, Brenna. I like you even more, now. I'm glad you are close with one sister. I had to go no contact with all my relatives for the sake of my mental health and survival. So good to see you thriving and loving life now.
🤗 bless you… I was born in ’64 - female- I have always questioned everything - non conventional - I am living a truly wonderful life - and I wish that upon all
I find you so interesting Brenna. It was fun to hear your responses to everyone’s assumptions about you. I’m retired and struggling to find something that I really enjoy doing. After working for 50+ years, raising a family and being a caregiver, it’s now finally about ME and i don’t know where to start. Hoping you do a video/videos on how you got started with your art and leaned to get in the zone. 🤗
What a nice video. It summed up my assumptions about you for sure. The only thing I didn't hear on the list is that you are smart. When you express your thoughts and feelings on life you seem very emotionally intelligent. And I just think you are overall pretty smart. Best of luck to you on your art. You do have a real knack for it, I think. And I wish Gabby a speedy recovery! God bless ! 🙏
I'm like that, I've never felt that I belonged, I tried to please everyone and be a good girl most of my life. it just didn't fit who I am, I love being alone I have two dogs that adore me and I'm good with that. I'm 72 years young I live in a 28ft Class C RV going on 3 years and I love it. So I can appreciate you and your lifestyle. Love your channel and videos.
So sorry to hear about dear Abby and I’m glad that she is recovering. We do love our fur babies. Good to see you again. Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. You keep on being you ❤you are amazing
Awwww, cuddles to Abby!!🥰 I am like you Brenna, I am extremely happy being on my own after a DV marriage, doing life my way with my doggies. Keep being happy in your life!
that was fun. love and healing to abby and thank you for sharing. i look forward to your videos. bit of a traveler myself so always enjoy your adventures or informative videos. great art. love to see anyone excited about art or whatever they are pursuing .
Hi Brenna, I’m more of a watch and thumbs up than a commenter, but I wanted to let you know that I really enjoy watching and learning from your videos 💜💜💜
I loved this video Brenna... most of the assumptions I agree with as I've watched you since day 1. I'd say we are quite similar... long time single women who's best friend is our dog... enjoy being independent and living life our own way. Peace, contentment and joy being high priorities in our days and nature and animals being very important. Our only main difference is my van life is not full time... yet 😊 I get so happy when I see a new video notification of yours yet in saying that I really respect you put them out at your pace. My best to Abby and her recovery ❤
Brenna, it's as if I'm reading from the same book as yourself... I'm 57, am Canadian, an introvert... unmarried, childless ..and definitely don't fit the mold either , never did confirm. I found this video, and your words comforting...to know that I'm not alone in this world and that there are others like us.
Crikey, that was a brutally honest and candid upload. Ive been away for sometime dealing with prostate cancer but glad to still bebon earth 🌍 and moreso to see your channel has grown from 400 subs to over 11k 😱 OUTSTANDING!!! Well deserved for such a dte woman. Cheers 🍻 Yoshi
I’m 62 & in the last 6 months I have been learning lots about ADHD & have concluded that I do have traits. There’s nothing to fix but it helps me and others understand why I may react or say stuff. I mention this because I see similar traits in you Brenna. Not fitting in, erratically changing topic, easily distracted, overly anxious or over thinking stuff, etc. Nothing to fix, but it may help knowing more about it. The idea of an hyperactive boy in class is considered very out of date.
You are explaining me when you are talking about yourself and whilst it takes strength to be authentic and respectful to ourselves it’s worth it.I too adore my dog and the unconditional love she gives me love to you and your girl and hope she has a lot of healthy years with her mum🙏
I love this video. I couldn't enter the assumption bit, I'm not into assuming. I can see your awesome. A truly kind and wonderful person who has overcome lots in life and now chooses to give back. I really hope the universe crosses our paths one day. You have an incredible energy about you.
hey brenna omg you are so much like me i felt the same way growing up and still do. this would have to be the most honest video ive seen. iv watched you off and on over the years. absolutly love this. hope puppy gets better soon. you take care and thanks for shareing.
I’ve just started watching and hearing about Abby. I’m so glad she’s recovering well. What a stressful situation!! Lots of gentle pats for Abby from me, please?
Hi Brenna. I learned something - to check the community board. I would of said you are one of the most well balanced people I know - dancing through life with wisdom, intelligence, kindness and joy.
Saaddened to learn of Abby's misfortune but fingers crossed for a complete recover, and most of all, that she is comfortable. Lovely to hear your responses. Really helps deepen how I receive your videos, now knowing some of your hostry, struggles, delights and lifestyle choices. And I love those doodles in your art notebook. Absolutely gorgoeus!
I don't think people realise how much of a difference they can do in someone else's life. Especially when it comes to children, I have so many good memories from different people in my childhood, who made my life better. And I kept that in mind when I was working in childcare. Some of those children are adults now, and still remember me with joy.
You are also an entertainer, I am certainly entertained watching your videos, love your content. How wonderful that you can live your life on your terms. I have always been a bit of a rebel so understand your dilemma in conforming to society's standards. Being authentic and happy in your own skin is a gift.
Hi Brenna, sorry to hear about your beautiful Abby, I hope she is up and about soon. When I learned meditation years ago, it taught me not to assume anything and not to be judgemental. I still live my life by those teachings, also how to live my life in gratitude. I see a lot of similarities in you. I have a campervan but made the decision that I would always have my home base. This has been a lovely video. Cheers
What things have you enjoyed while you were so busy? I love going to films and galleries. When I first retired I did a Permaculture Design Certificate, which helped get me in touch with a few like minded people that became friends. I joined the local Friends of the Botanic Gardens group and helped out there on Tuesday afternoons. I also joined a local succulent and cacti group. I did my share of overseas travel as well. I also went travelling within Australia. Just keep exploring. Do some travel maybe. Try stuff. You will find your feet. Also just give yourself time to rest and breathe, without feeling you are lacking for doing nothing, or very little.
Sorry to hear that Abby has had more leg surgery. I hope she will make a full recovery. You strike me as a very genuine and sweet person. I am marginally older than you and also knew I didn't want kids before I had finished school. I stopped wearing make up in my university days and let my hair go grey by the time I was mid 30s. Not one to blindly follow anything. Lots of women in our age bracket have been ground breakers, Not the easiest of paths and lots of push back. No need to ever be apologetic for being your own person and defining your own path in life. It's not selfish to enjoy living alone and putting yourself first, as long as you are not harming others. You are not harming another soul! The best thing anyone can be is a good, kind and person, both to other people and the environment and other creatures and I assume that is true of you!
Great to see you back and glad Abby's on the mend. I have the Evaploar light plus too and definitely love it. I found using my Ryobi fan with it circulates the cool air around the van. Always enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing. P.S thanks for introducing me to Rinske Douna, her art is fabulous. 😊
Your art is lovely Brenna. I gave taken up sketching in ink and water colour again which I'm finding pretty relaxing. Thanks for the insights into your lovely soul. Sorry Abby is not well, hope she gets better soon. cheers :)
Poor little Abby. Cuddles for both of you. I loved this video, Brenna. Sometimes you made me laugh, which is nice. I have a lot to think about. Thanks. ❤🩹🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
Amazing video, Brenna. I think you need to be my teacher . I hope Abbey is recovering well and you too. Thanks, so much for sharing some of your experiences. With so much thanks, Harry
Brenna I bet we would be hangout buddies if we didn't live on opposite sides of the planet. The things you say on this video also describe me. Always curious and questioning. Valuing authenticity, even though we don't fit in with popular culture. You are a true inspiration. ❤❤❤
This was such a great video. It was really interesting to hear what others have assumed about you, and very cool to hear the things you could relate to and the things that were way off. I know what you mean about the TH-cam thing, too. I’ve been re-evaluating how I feel about my own stuff, and wanting to make sure that I’m doing it for the right reasons. ❤️ And thank you for showing us your recent art! I do love seeing all the cool stuff you make. 😊
thanks brenda ❤❤❤ i can relate to you in so many ways... you are great inspiration to others. enjoy your very own choices in your very own life... greetings from qld tablelands hugs ❤💚💙
Great video Brenna; we should not really make assumptions - often wrong! I wonder if you are familiar with Don miguel ruiz (Toltec wisdom) and his book called "the four agreements" one of which is - never make assumptions. After reading that i often stop myself from doing that! happy days xx
That was another very interesting video and as always, when I watch your channel, it made me think about myself. Your artwork has developed so much in the last few months where do you find room to store it?
Loved this video Brenna. Confirmed what we all assumed about you (mostly). Gentle hugs to Abby. I love your art and am interested in you saying you would like to teach art, for the Joy it brings....as in that we are all capable. I used to doodle in my youth, never any good but enjoyed it. Nowadays I'm like you said uptight, not relaxed about it to even try. Would like to change that. Not sure where to start but start I must., stop procrastinating 😄
One of your most entertaining and interesting videos. Thanks. I'm amazed how similar you are to me, but suspect there are many of us from the same era who questioned everything. Had to smile at your description of straight woman, but different. That's me. Moved into a new community and excluded from girl's nights because not girly enough. Also of course excluded from the boy's nights because I'm not one. Duh! Sit home in the van with my dog 😂.Watching TH-cam 😅
I'm from 1964 too and also question everything. I'm also pretty outspoken and have a tendency to speak as I find things and some people take me as offensive. Luckily I don't give a feck what anyone thinks 😂😂😂 In southern Australia evaporative air-conditioning is very popular for whole home ducted cooling.
I enjoyed all their descriptions. I have always felt that you are both a left and right brain person, so you are capable of anything you put your mind to. Do you have trouble switching off your brain at times, too?
To me , we are kindred spirits …sister from another mother …love nature, animals and time alone….I was born in 1963 so same generation - women to be a teacher, nurse or secretary and marry and have children… 💯 being authentic and myself is calming. I tried marriage, parenhthood and overworking…Im now 61yo and want to get off the hamster wheel.
Hi Brenna, appreciate the information on EvaPolar. Is the 30% off special time sensitive & does it only apply to the mid-range cooler? I’m interested in the little mini one for my CaddyMaxi. Thank you & safe travels.
I had to look up neurodivergent. Seems people have to have a classification/quantification/identification for everything human. It comes from having to bill insurance using codes...I was a coder...in order for medical professionals to get paid. Now it permeates our society and I find it so interesting people need to be able to label. Does it seem that way to anyone else? Love your Channel!
For an Autistic and ADHD woman who was not diagnosed until I was 50, correct "labels" are VERY important. I was disabled by my Autism and ADHD and in severe burnout and not wanting to live. The labels I had been given and that I gave myself (lazy, strange, stupid, too much, too sensitive) made my symptoms my fault, made my overwhelm up to me to calm, when overwhelm is my normal. If I did not find out I am Autistic with ADHD, I would be gone because I hated myself and the world. This is a common issue for late diagnosed women, who were seeking answers their whole lives for why they never fit in, why we always questioned society, how we wanted to live differently than others, how things and people overwhelmed us to the point we often sought solo time in nature or pursuing our passions. And when I say all this, I want you to understand these needs are more intense than non-neurodivergents feel and neurodivergents also have way more debilitating symptoms on top of these common traits, so no, not everyone is Neurodivergent/Autistic/ADHD. Finding out made my life make sense and actually saved my life. So yes, very, very important!
Yes I agree with you. It's getting ridiculous people having to label anything and everything that's a little different. We're all different and that's great, interesting.
@AuntyJack123 Autism and ADHD aren't just "a little different"... the whole structure, chemistry, and function of your brain and nervous system is different, in your own unique way (just like neurotypical people are not copies of eachother). It's a disability for most- there are many invisible symptoms that go on inside an Autistic person's experiences, so it's not just about being different. The increase in numbers of diagnosing Neurodivergents is because the stereotype of a Neurodivergent person did not include many of us, especially girls and women and because it can cost $$$ and doctors are very uninformed about the wide spectrum that Autism can display. Diagnoses are not "labels" and are very important for understanding these types of invisible struggles, but only if people don't dismiss them as labels just because they don't understand what they mean.
Watching you here, I lost count of the number of autistic traits that you exhibit. Classic stereotype. Anyone born last century is likely to have not been diagnosed, unless they are in the high support needs category. And the diagnostic criteria changed in 2013. For many of us, our knowledge and understanding can be quite outdated. So it's very common for women of our age to have not been diagnosed. We are very skilled at masking. For me, finding out about this only a few years ago, has been truly liberating. It's explained so many things. It's nice to see you're very much loved here ❤
Im same decided at 40 no relationships for me, 57 now happily single havent changed my mind. I also decided no children at a young age, also havent changed my mind. Ill be starting my lap of oz in December with my 2 cats
Accountants for small businesses generally deal with income tax while bookkeepers are more about the daily running of business with things like payroll, invoicing, gst etc
Another great Vlog, yes I was born in 64 too, I love your outlook on life, joy comes from the simple things in life, sorry to hear of Abbeys illness , hope she has a speedy recovery, and being single has its own set of benefits, (single here 30+ years), best wishes, cheers from Downunder 🦘🦘🦘❤️🇦🇺
Very true. Being caregivers constantly for years can stifle creativity.

Doodling is the best!
Hi Brenna so sorry to hear about Abby.
Thanks, she is doing better.
Fitting in is over rated!
Beautiful Brenna. I love your videos ❤from Central Queensland ❤
Glad you like them!
I'm from 1964 too and also question everything. I'm also pretty outspoken and have a tendency to speak as I find things and some people take me as offensive. Luckily I don't give a feck what anyone thinks 😂😂😂
In southern Australia evaporative air-conditioning is very popular for whole home ducted cooling.
1964 was a great year to be born!
I enjoyed all their descriptions. I have always felt that you are both a left and right brain person, so you are capable of anything you put your mind to. Do you have trouble switching off your brain at times, too?
I used to have trouble switching off my brain but since I started meditation no more.
Brenna, I assume nothing about anyone.
As the old saying goes: assume makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me.
To me , we are kindred spirits …sister from another mother …love nature, animals and time alone….I was born in 1963 so same generation - women to be a teacher, nurse or secretary and marry and have children…
💯 being authentic and myself is calming.
I tried marriage, parenhthood and overworking…Im now 61yo and want to get off the hamster wheel.
That is exactly how I felt.
Hi Brenna, appreciate the information on EvaPolar. Is the 30% off special time sensitive & does it only apply to the mid-range cooler? I’m interested in the little mini one for my CaddyMaxi. Thank you & safe travels.
I'm not sure about the discount code but just try it and see.
@@BrennaLivingJoyfullyI did some more searching & have decided to stick with my Sirocco fan & wet towels for now. 🌸
QUESTION PLEASE: Hi Brenna, Jen here . I'm 70 and hate the heat . Can I ask you what regions you hang out in in summer to stay cooler .
South for the summer and North for winter. Tasmania is the best for the summer months.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@audhdcreativity5899 outstanding answer!! Thank You! I have a better understanding...kudos to you and your strength
@exploringnext1111 thank you! Kudos back!!!
It's nice to see you're very much loved here ❤
Everyone on TH-cam only shares a certain side of themselves therefore it would be pretty hard to know you ! 😂
👍👍👍
Big kiss for Abby....l asked no questions...you know what you want

Awesome!
I’ve never known the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant. Help!
Accountants for small businesses generally deal with income tax while bookkeepers are more about the daily running of business with things like payroll, invoicing, gst etc
@ thank you.
💕💐💐💐🐶💐💐💐💕
How the tax work on TH-cam maybe do video. The type of expenses you can claim as TH-camr. Be very interested on what expenses ato allow.
Be a lot of expenses that you claim
You can look it up on the ATO website if you’re interested.
No your mac 😢😢😢😢😢😢 lol
Please stop talking about what you will do when Abby passes! Treasure your time with her now, while she is still with you
I can do both.
Look it up in your funkin wangle 🤣
That was how it went!
