From all builds I've seen so far, this looks the most canon to me. The bleeding effect fits the precise strikes a witcher would land, signs are used less often and need preparation but have a significant effect and can change the outcome of a fight.
There's something to be said (in terms of immersion) about approaching this world with the precision and usage of signs as you'd mentioned. In putting yourself in Geralt's shoes, whom we know is methodical and seasoned in his approach to combat. It's fucking fantastic. A majority of builds that I've seen involve attempting to crank up the damage as much as possible, without regards to how Geralt might actually approach any given situation. This is a breath of fresh air.
I personally recommend ditching Focus and replacing that with the alchemy skill that increases your max toxicity level. This way you take a decoction and a couple potions without being overdosed. It helps massively more than having Focus.
The only thing I don't like about the set is the spikes, but the do make good sense being there since a witcher mainly fights monsters so it would help prevent grabbing and whatnot so it gets a pass lol
this is exactly the build ive been looking for since the update came out. I love sign-sword builds but hate the griffin armor, and the new wolven set bonus looked promising. thanks my guy
@@norzza had some performance issues before the hotfix but great since then. Same great game its always been, just a little remixed. You can feel it in the combat most of all. Seems to have more depth than before.
Thanks a lot for this build! It perfectly fits my playstyle. I already stopped my playthrough two times because of being bored. First time i created primarly melee cat school build, second time full sign griffin school. Now this is the build that brought me back to game so you are a hero to me
5:41 Your second form of quen doesn't work because you deposited skill points in it, but don't put it in a skill slot. That's a bug. You can use Potion of Clearance and do not invest your skill points in second forms of signs.
Finally got around the level where I have access with this build and it’s gear and I replaced focus with aquired tolerance so that I can at least pop ehkidna, troll and ancient leshen decoction on top of tawny and it’s glorious. Thanks for the quality build 👍🏻
I’m level 12 just clearing the velen side quests and question marks rn to level up to put a build together this is perfect for me, going full sword seems very boring same with overloading on alchemy. Fully investing into signs as well doesn’t feel very natural this look great
Could you do a video on the Runewright enchantments after the update? I noticed Rotation no longer has the nasty side effect "but no longer applies the burning effect" and Elation's adrenaline gain appears to have been increased from 0.1/0.25 to 1. I would like to see them all!
I'm happy with the new set changes never realized they changed them and tbh it's a great change the old set bonus was so bad, glad it now compliments a hybrid build using adrenaline as adrenaline is so op.
Yes!!! This is what I’ve been waiting for thank you! I just started with the griffin signs build and planned to make it a signsword build. Can’t wait to try this instead though, been interested in the wolven armor since I saw the changes
Im trying to make a close to canon Geralt build with signs being really useful but not powerful, actively use decoctions potions bombs and oils while still the bulk of the power is with the swords, any suggestions? Everything is on DM+ with upscaling because everything still dies fast.
This build is really cool I have to say! I myself prefer to use the wolf gear with piercing cold with some alchemy to get 3 decoctions active at once and still using the bleeding effects of course, and using only aard swipe without having a skill that uses adrenaline points because piercing cold is better the more adrenaline you have. With the wolf gear you can do almost whatever you want it is so fun
Hello! Could you please describe what skills should be queued above level 20 until you reach ng+? Now I'm level 21, but it would be nice to go further with this build! This is my first playthrough at beginner level! Thanks!
looks fun :) however euphoria could give more option to that - more toxicity to drink decotions e.i. hag+ekimmara+ekhidna,, boosted mutagens and overall more damage unless you are fighting more that 4 enemies. I know euphoria is boring but it is what it is :) And imo flood of anger does not fit the wolven armor as new armor bonus needs adrenaline points gainers not spenders.
Nice, fun and flexible build. Was looking for a Flood of anger build, congrats!! One question, how do u compare the wolf set with the Griffon one (2 signs for the cost of 1) upgrade?
You lose the ability to apply 3 instances of bleed to the one target which is pretty huge. But the further you go into NG+ Aerondight will start to be stronger as the damage scales.
Would it work as well with other signs rather than Igni? I wanna try it but all my Witcher games playthroughs were heavily reliant on Igni and I'm tired of using it
Fairly new to witcher but have finished and making my way through the dlc and onwards to NG+ but I have been running 3 griffin and 3 cavil. Been having alot of fun with it, not sure if its the best best build though? Any chance you could make a dual set build? Or are they not really viable?
My new gamer advice? But many older players say the same: just enjoy yourself! Make it personal! Of course, you can just copy the most op buid +armor, but where's the fun in this? I'm watching these videos mostly to learn about signs/potions/skills possibilities, and the way to maximize their effects, but I fully intend to build my own mix in the end, fitting my playstyle 🎋 (a mix of combat and signs, with potions/Decoctions added in when needed). I'm so sad I can't get to the original Wolf armor without following the story, so for now I've got the Forgotten Wolve and Griffin whole set in the stash. I enjoyed a heavy beautiful armor for the time I spen in Skullige's islands, bought before the wake.
What's your fav build to play out of all the ones you've made? I assume the cat melee build is the most powerful, but is it most fun? I was looking to go an alchemy build for a new playthrough but the inventory management turned me off it, looking for something different that's fun doesn't have to be the most powerful but good enough for death march.
Flood of Anger just doesn't seem to work for me. It also takes longer to get three full adrenaline bars than I'd like. By the time I get them full, most enemies are dead. Maybe my build isn't optimized and I'm not playing on Death March, so I know that matters, but still.
I can't remember what skills Id use to do but I always used wolven armor. I was sword and sign, mostly sign. Literally never touched the other trees. One half would be red skills and the other blue I think.
Im on my first play through of Witcher 3. Im level 43 and I don't know what play style, armor, or build to go with. Im still using Mastercrafted Griffin. I dont have the time (irl) to farm multiple sets of gear, endless mats or money. I like this build in your vid it looks great as it has combat and sign. Can i do everything in game with this set and build ? Is there a similar build but using Yrden Arrd spam ? Forgive my noobiness, im very new to this.
To answer your first question, I'm currently using this build on Death March and it's been pretty effective. I'm level 25 and I'm killing up to just under red skull enemies with ease. Red skulled enemies (enemies that are level 6+ more than me) still go down but, due to the level difference, they still take a bit to kill. To answer your second question, his Henry Cavill build uses Aard and Yrden as the primary sign abilities and it's similar to this build. It also uses alchemy too. If you want a sign focused build, check out his End game sign build that uses the Griffin set.
I’ve used this build on normal difficulty and I’m planning on starting a new game plus very soon, do you think this build is powerful enough to play deathmarch?
@@norzza i would really apreciate if you would made a tesham mutna build, i think it has potential and is unique. More than that, i didn't find any build on internet....
@@FiddyWoow I would just do a standard Ursine tank build if its heavy armor. Also, looked it up and Hen Gaidth is another type of that armor with the exact same effects but a higher armor stat. You can only get the Hen Gaidth armor through the Unseen Elder questline though

And i want to know, how i can boost all level 1 sings, without using the ability points?
since the release of the Next-Gen Update I`m a fan of the "Forgotten Wolven" set on Grandmaster-level ... next to my "Ursine/Bear" set I don`t rely need more at the moment
ursine might be okay because it helps build adrenaline, but you'd have to retool the light attack buffs to heavy buffs and maybe play around quen instead of igni. obviously switch griffin school perk to ursine as well. theres something there but i dont have the stats in front of me right now so thats all i go off the dome. keep in mind heavy armor decreases stamina regen, so it would be a slower paced playstyle. maybe think about switching the adrenaline rush mutation to conductors of magic since you wont get as much out of it when playing slower.
