I have both the SHPs/vmoda boom pro and before that the PC37X. Both are great headsets, and the PC37X is a great all round set, but for me I prefer the SHPs/Vmoda. Its a much lighter clamping set, and also the PC37X can feel a little cramped on the ears as the cup openings aren't that large, unlike the SHPs. Mic on both setups is great. Sound wise they can of course be EQd and theres not lots to choose from between them tbh. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either.

Im glad you finally found these. Ive had these for 2 years and they sound and look new. I wouldn't worry too much about that slight bend you were talking about on the swivel mechanism, I have never heard of one breaking through normal use. The mic-cable you were talking about is the V-moda boom pro, they usually retail for $30. I've been using that with these headphones for 2 years (I bought them together) and it is a well worth it upgrade. The mic sounds WAY better than any other built-in mic I have ever heard (my old team mates noticed IMMEDIATELY when I switched to it). So for under $100 these trump most if not all gaming headsets IMO. I can suggest to try the ultra cheap Syba Sonic USB dac amp for under $50 (i got mine for $40ish) it pairs so so well with these. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either.
should i get these or Logitech g pro headset for gaming
SHP9500 or Status Audio CB-1? For music and gaming
do u have the same but closed ?
I need help choosing between shp9500 + vmoda boom pro and hyperx cloud 2
I saw it comes with 3rd party Bluetooth adapter, does it works?
Can use the balanced cable for better sound on this 9500?
would this be fine if i dont have a big head haha given how big the earpads are? i just think this is amazing for uts price but i wanted to know how it would be for someone with a smaller head
why the music in the background?
I’m not sure weather to get these with the boom mic pro or get the gsp 350. I don’t like how they leak sound and aren’t noise canceling but there a lot lower profile than the gsp 350 and probably sound better. If anyone has experience with these or the gsp 300/350, please reply
Do you have a 2.4G wireless solution for this? (Not Bluetooth)
I'm thinking about these headsets for Xbox and I mainly play COD. Do you recommend them for that? Also will that mic work on the Xbox One X?
Did you ever find out if it worked
@@micahlang7560 yes it worked, my only complain about the headset is that it doesn't clamp too tightly, feels a bit loose
@@tmx8686 And it wasn’t to quiet? A lot of these comments say it is quiet.
@@micahlang7560 well I connect my headsets with my astro mixamp
@@tmx8686 okay thanks
Getting these headphones in a few days :o
How are they? I'm still on the fence l
Michael Gorry honestly great headphones I would recommend them, I can pin point footsteps in game easily, I am running them on pc direct y splinter and they are very good
@@tonyrodriguez2938 Video games like Call of Duty?
@@marswaters4974 yes they are great for call of duty
If you don’t have an amp yet, you should get one so you can test a wide range of headphones.
Also, these are pretty good for their price. The only thing wrong with them in my opinion is the obvious graininess ;(
this is the one I use >> th-cam.com/video/jIofGekzbC0/w-d-xo.html and the G6 for console
Hi Adam, does the Razer Mic you mentioned work on the xbox one and ps4? Greatly appreciate this review man as I've been looking at these recently.
yes it does
Thanks Adam for the swift reply! But I googled and it says xbox doesn't support USB mics. Did your razer work on your xbox?
@@OMGitsMarkkus okay so I just plugged it into both consoles (ps4 pro & xbox one x) it worked perfect on ps4, on xbox it powered up but didn't register
Ah ok thanks so much for taking time to answer my questions Adam, really appreciate it! One more thing tho, how would you rate these Phillips Shp9500 against the Cooler Master Mh751 you reviewed previously?
@@OMGitsMarkkus no prob always glad to help! as for these compared to the 751's, both are great, but honestly I would go with these.
Tried using sound blaster with it?
I did test it with the G6 and the AE9
Difference in cloud 2?
Cloud 2 is close back this is open back im tellin you this is far superior from close back for me, I had hyperx revolver s too bassy and its eating other instrument , when I bought this shp it is my first time trying a open back and the hype is real in shp9500 especially on jazz music damn the seperation of instrument it makes me smile the bass feels far away away from you I feel sometimes its like there is subwoofer somewhere far. Shp9500 is cheaper too but far far superior on sound quality I use eq on shp and it enchance overall sound.
MIZOPAYA A what are your EQ settings?
@@Pompey_Sr www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/4pny6y/philips_shp9500_tuning/d4mvwdq/
If you already have eq apo just copy the settings on the image, and if you dont have eq apo yet there is a specific instruction you can follow somewhere on the threads but if you follow the settings of the values its wrong so after you follow some of the instructions when you will put the value you can just copy the value on the image given.
Just a sidenote. The bag they include is for your old headphones :D
damn thats exactly the same comment on Z Reviews' video from 3 years ago
Would you recommend these Phillips SPH 9500 or the artics 3 or 7s?
Philips shp9500 + vmoda boom pro
I love the 7's
Didnt try arctis but shp hype is real especially when you eq it, there is a good eq settings on reddit and it enchance the overall quality of sound specially the bass. Shp on jazz is so so good. And its super comfy too
In terms of sound quality and gaming, Hyperx cloud core, logitech g pro, or these? Pls advise.
I like gpro 2019
The sph9000 by far.
Shp9500 is far superior on sound quality you can eq it for more bass.
best youtuber
wow, thank you so much!!
how does the sound compare to redragon h510 ?
not even close. redragon is pretty bad
i am with some douds to choose between shp9500 and the beyerdynamics 990 pro. can you help me?
both are great, the 990's are built much better, and sound a bit more detailed.
@@TheTechne but if I buy the 990 pro I need to buy an amp and for the SHP9500 I don't need to buy an amp
@@rapha5479 correct, PS: I will have a great option for an amp with tomorrows vid ;)
@@TheTechne ok thanks men, love your channel
@@TheTechne PS: I am from Portugal and on amazon.es the SHP9500 is the equivelent to 100$
Hello techne, i was thinking to buy this headphone, I don't know if it will fit my small head. Ear to ear distance is about 16 cm(straight line). Do you think it'll be too loose on my head...
they were fairly loose on my head. so might not be a good fit.
@@TheTechne Got it!
Can i use the razer seiren on ps4?
I use them as headphones and speakers. If you just max the volume you can hear most things fine just having them sit by you somewhere (my monitor doesnt have speakers)
After watching the video 10x i finally decided to buy this one...
What made you decide? I'm still on the fence between this and the ad700x since they're nearly the same price where I live
My pair will come in a week
Its comfortable
@@farithroshhow's it hanging 4 years l8r?
Sorry to bother but I'm searching for a headphone to play fps game and competitively so I'm really confused between hyperx alpha and fnatic react and philips SHP9500
what platform, btw scratch the alphas off

To gamers nice?, phlips shp9500 or hyperx cloud alpha or steelseries arctis 5?
Hey techne, so which one would be better :-
1) shp 9500
2) cooler master mh751
3) ATH M40X
I don't know about m50x, people say that m40x is better than the m50x. Have you tried it?
now I love love love the M50x, I have a pair for gaming and video editing. just an all around perfect headset. I am personally not a fan of open back headphones.
I don't need a mic, this or a cloud alpha
Damn I tried the m50x and I hated them, I tried them on at a store for 10 minutes and boy they were uncomfortable af, hopefully I'll like the shp9500 since I just ordered them considering they were so cheap
oh man I love the m50's. but I did change out the ear pads
I got the redragon h510 for my xbox one my friend but I still get not what I want
Do you recommend something better for me 🤗
price range?

I did want to ask, could you try the Samson Meteor desktop mic as well? I've had my eye on that for a while since I switched to the Vokyl Erupt headphones/headset. Maybe a desktop mic shoot-out video? Thanks for the great content as well, entertaining as always buddy!
yeah, such a bang for your buck pair of headphones here. hey man BTW I paracorded my Kain, thanks to you giving me the confidence. I said heck, why not!! best way to learn is get your hands dirty!! lol thank you again for the chat man.
@@TheTechne NP man! Im surprised you got your cable so fast, I'm still waiting on mine from Ceesa. It wasnt scary was it?
@@Phatbeater I had some cables laying around already. scary, ehhh I gotta admit it was, lol I just didn't want to ruin the mouse. but now I'm hooked and I want to do many more, lol!
@@TheTechne Nice buddy, I probably should have done this myself. The new thing that I've been hearing about this year is photonwire. Idk if I like it, but some seem to love how thin and light it is. I'm glad you jumped on paracords though, they are a game changer for sure!
@@Phatbeater yeah that photon wire is just ugly. lol
Have you tried with Creative G6 + SHP9500?
yes, nice combo
I play on ps4, should i get this, steelseries arctis 3 or cooler master mh751?
on ps4, I always recommend wireless, due to ps4 3.5 has low vol
I dont want to spent much money on a wireless headset, do you know some "cheap" options (at least under 100)
