  • Finally got this video out! Here's my 2 months or so experience using the SHP9500. I listened to the kinds of music I like and played my usual games through it. Hope you find the video informative from the perspective of an audiophile newbie.
    Disclaimer: I purchased the Philips SHP9500 with my own money and this is not a sponsored video.

    I also owned kz-zs10pro, I'm planning to buy the shp9500, just curious how it sounds in compare with the KZ in terms of sound clarity in all aspects.

      Hi! Thanks for the comment. Coming from ZS10 Pros, you'll most likely be surprised with how different it sounds at first. But now that I've used them fairly regularly I'm not as bothered with how at times the bass is overwhelming (in comparison to KZs) and enjoy the better soundstage, imaging(though with some quirks in games), and how clear vocals are in non-distorted songs.
      Listening to a well produced song or live performance through them is very immersive and just more open.
      When it comes to using it to post process audio, again it goes back to its bass sound. I edited the voice over of this video through the 9500 and I EQed it to have slightly lower bass. Listening to the video thru my KZs I found that there's almost no more bass resulting in harsh voice track.

      I currently have hesh 2.0, and might get these, condideting them, for movies and music and youtube videos, are these a good beginner audiophile headset ? If you lost or damaged them, would you repurchase them ? 🤔

      @@blacksupra001 these are one of the recommended starter open back headphones for new audiophiles like you and me. It at least made me understand a bit of what experienced audiophiles talk about in forums and in videos. But it also really made me appreciate well-produced music, immersive audio/soundtrack for movies and games.
      If I lost or damaged this one I'd a) upgrade to a better one if I had the money because I want to try more or b) first check if there's a similar priced one and is better built than this or c) buy it again if there is no same priced but better built alternative.
      If you can, find a store with a demo unit or a friend who owns one so you can do side by side with your current headphones.

    Need some advice here. Purchased these cans and love them. When plugged into a CD player, my Samsung Galaxy, they sound excellent for music. When I plugged into my marantz nr1200 stereo receiver they lost volume and clarity. I have to raise the volume very high on my receiver to obtain decent sound. Any advice would help. Currently when using my marantz I have to listen to my old Sonys. I'm a missing something?

    How SHP9500 compare with M40x for gaming?

    • @mikestechreviews4120
      @mikestechreviews4120  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I unfortunately cannot answer that as I haven't tried the M40X yet. But with the M40X being a closed back headphone, I can only guess that it wouldn't sound as open/wide as an open back headphone like the SHP9500.

    Between this and 9600 or 9500s which one is better for fps game only?

    • @mikestechreviews4120
      @mikestechreviews4120  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! As I've never tried the 9600 to compare, I can't give you a definitive answer. One thing I've read from others is that the 9600 has more bass than the 9500. This may be beneficial in FPS games if you like your explosions and gunfire to be bassy but you might lose some details in mid and treble sounds.

      No comparison of those because SHP9500 better in every single way
