Great video! Just one note. This is a CRF230F with a dual sport kit on it, not a CRF230L. First clue is the rear drum brake. The L models ( 2 years only; 08 and 09) had a rear disk brake.
Got one between my dad and my brother. It’s been sitting around for a while and needs a little work. Just got a jeep and a bike rack so I’m looking forward to seeing some trails with this thing.
I got a 230l. It’s a great commuter. Only wish you could get a bigger gas tank. It gets over 75mpg which is great, small enough to easily maneuver on or off the bike. I’d recommend. I change oil every 2k miles.
I have a 2009 crf 230L and it’s been sitting for a long time. I’ve replaced the battery and spark plug aswell as emptying and cleaning the fuel tank the one thing I’m having trouble with is finding a reputable new carburetor that won’t break the bank
Do you have the original kehin carb? If so DO NOT GET RID OF IT. Go through it or have someone go through it because a dirty kehin runs way better than a clean china carb

With the 230L only being produced for 2 years, I am wondering if you have had any issues finding parts for it.
There’s a lot of parts that fit from a couple other Honda models. Procycle in Eugene has everything. Also, never been breaks down so...
I have the CRF230M (made 1 year) and have no problems finding parts in USA.

Only just saw this. If you have to sit down to climb it is a sign that the spring rat may be too hard ( of possibly way too soft).
Oh, it’s more the geometry than the suspension. It is set up for my wife so it’s totally weird
