Couldn't agree more. When I open TH-cam these days it's just to see if you've put another video up. S3 looks 👌. I have a 2015 Audi A5 black edition 177 Quattro. Looking at the work you have done on the S3 is inspiring! May send the pics in if I get around to working on mine. Thanks for all the hard work. Been here from the start and it is quality to see how the channel has grown. #HWBT
This is why Matt is the best car you tuber out here. Diagnoses and fixes all self taught! Hats off to this guy! - it’s easy to get cars and send them to others to modify then drive them around. What Matt does is a whole other level! Fair play!
If you have any more coolant issues check the coolant control solenoid/switching valve, just had the exact same issues on my s4 & changing the water pump plus thermostat didn’t fix it but that did. Gotta love audis
There is definitely a passion there concerning cars. I have never had confidence in cars that have been fixed with the sort of damage that you deal with, but the mechanical work you do is amazing and I often wonder if main dealers or private small garages have the same enthusiasm and care of vehicles that you show on your videos.
The thing is when u undo the fuel lines on pretty much any engine you gotta crank it a bit longer cuz it takes couple of secounds for fuel to come to engine from the tank so that u didnt have to take everything apart again other than that ive been followin u since tt maan you make a very good content
Just completed the valve cover re-seal jobby 😅 pig of a job , ment that the fuel vacuum pump& hpfp had to come off so had also to remove a fuse from engine bay & a fuse under the steering wheel fusebox to depressurise the fuel lines. Rmember to put the fuses back upon completion lol Not sure if they forgot the fuse if they took em out ?
Mate you absolutely amaze me every time..looks really well given the state it was in in the beginning keep up the good work ..can't wait for the c63 updates that's gonna be a good one
The looks and sounds cool mate. That water pump was a complete nightmare, something mustn't of been plugged in properly. Just bought myself a S5 4.2 V8 with back box delete and we both know what they sound like Matty! 👌
As a audi tech it’s always interesting to see how other people do things on their cars, but the amount of times I kept saying you don’t need to remove that or you could do it a different way to make it easier. You done a great job though, well done 👍
Epic upload that, well done Mat!👊 Have to say, even though it wouldn’t be my choice of colour that Audi is looking the dogs bollox. I think all the cars you complete should have your name in the rear quarter window, just like Yiannimize does with his cars. (PS: You’ll need to tone down the exhausts driving through Monaco else you’ll get them confiscated and put in a compound).😉
To check the water pump flow take the return feed off the top of the coolant bottle unscrew the cap poke it in and turn on the engine. No flow = water pump or blockage etc…
turned out a good job mat worth while as for the hole in the back box i believe its to allow condensation build up to exscape, for future jobs mat when removeing fuel lines it allows air in the lines and the fuel to run back therefore you gotter crank it longer or prime it more then once also to prevent air locks you can bleed them but iirc ive seen you doing this on some project so maybe its just been along ass day doing that water pump and not just the 20 so mins we just see mat bu t its payed off now im not 100% sure about the tones in all modes but improvement, great vid awesome work keep going,
I loved replacing these when I was a tech at Audi! You do not have to remove the manifold to get it out...I've got some tips and tricks that make it much quicker and easier!
You can change the thermostat hose, without Talking of the inlet manifold by the way 😅just a bit scatchy, but faster. Nice Video👍🏿 And for taking the toothbelt on, just losen the water pump, and taking the belt on, and than screw the pump with the belt on back together.
Another tough job, you are getting well known for the tough jobs, J&D projects mentioned you in there last vlog. At the end the boss was trying to help one of his staff out with a repair to car door window which was not going to well, when he mentioned you, lol
Used to deal with that all the time at work, buy yourself some subframe aligners, and the holes to drain away built up moisture, secondary water pumps are dodgy on anything VAG to
I did that a couple times too and it’s also possible without removing the inlet and the air ventilators, I just used a mirror to see the bolts, but that’s a way too great job 👍🏼
I have the same bumper and the vent mesh fell too. I simply filled them with black plastic panels as they're not needed and actually increase drag (they're filled on the LMS cars). I went for a bonnet exhaust for mine though :D Looks gorgeous in that purple!
@@MatArmstrongbmx If you look inside where the mesh go there is actually a track for the airflow to follow which starts from the smaller holes, the one closest to the central grill. Those are designed to slow down the air and let it expand, which cools it, before it passes through the radiators. My S3 is stage 2 and has driven thousands of miles like that without ever having a cooling issue. The mesh just here for show, cos they look cooler but not needed and actually not as efficient. Why the LMS car also have the radiator area partially covered instead of fully open. More efficient and reduce drag.
the reason it didnt start was because it didnt had any fuel pressure after you removed the fuel lines. just turn on ignition a few times and let the pump work for a bit before startup! :)
Woke up this morning to watch Mat Armstrong videos....it's dinner time now 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂addictive right?
Good times, i love the vibes he lets off, full of excitement, enthusiasm and the workman ship is outstanding. Love his vids

You should definitely do these longer videos Mat! Love the S3 looks great.
Exactly!
You know I was talking to my brother about this yesterday, your videos are super nice, yet not long enough 🤣

Similar thing to when replacing a fuel filter, takes a few seconds for fuel to come through to the engine
just open and close the drivers door on these a few times primes the hpfp
@@BlackboxlProductions or use VCDS to prime the pump before starting.
