At one point when Megumi was using the technique he was about to use on Sukuna he said “sacred treasure”. Also remember Sukuna’s pact with his vessel. He’s allowed to take control once for a certain amount of time but agreed to not hurt anyone which was really out of character. This leads me to believe that he’s waiting for Megumi to use this “sacred treasure” and then steal it.

I think it relates more to the jungian concept of Shadow, megumi said "I was finally able to spit out my shadow" to let all the ugliness and darkness within him to fully emerge and be exploited in a useful manner, to stop repressing himself.

Having this be Megumi's 'final boss' for Season 1 was genius.

So far Megumi is only the second human we know to pull of domain expansion....the pinnacle of jujutsu sorcery that not even nanami could obtain. Sukuna saw greatness in him from the start.

and the fact that megumi pulled it off in his 1st year of high school. even gojou didn't get it until at least after his 3rd year.

I don't think enough people are talking about the absolutely outstanding voice acting performance in this scene; his excitement really brings Megumi to life. Yuuma Uchida is VERY quickly becoming one of my favorite VA's.

IIRC, there was one guy who Megumi beat because he had a barrier that specifically nullified the guaranteed hit of a complete domain, which did nothing vs. Megumi's incomplete domain, but that guy was using a weird technique from centuries ago, that died out to better techniques like simple barrier, which would be effective vs. Megumi's incomplete domain.

So I think the way Megumi's Domain Expansion works is that since he normally has the power to summon and dismiss creatures, if he's inside of his circle the entire Domain is technically one giant creature that he details and specifies to his desire.

Megumi made some crazy gains he's pretty much a semi grade 1 to possibly grade 1 sorceror right now. Yuuji made even more gains from a possible grade 3/2 sorceror to the level of a semi grade 1 as well.

@@visionaryvjae5641 agree, megumi with incomplete domain is definely a grade 1 sorcerer level, even without his domain he was fighting on par with kamo who was a semi-grade 1, and his totality dog can even make damage to a curse spirit top tier, more than kamo attacks could.

My favorite part of Jujutsu Kaisen is that whenever a character powers up, it's not necessarily because of friendship or feelings of justice, even those can be it. Whenever a Sorcerer truly evolves is when they've become aware of themselves, and they realize who they TRULY want to be. All techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen are a projection of the soul, and only those with the strongest, most refined souls win. There are no uncertain Sorcerers at the top.
