I have such sweet memories of Buena Vista Social Club. Traveling as a kid in the car with my parents from the Netherlands to Italy. My holiday soundtrack!
This is kinda GREAT!! Always wondered what they listened to while growing up and now I finally get to hear them telling that story ! Also makes me kinda wish that we could listen to music together, that I could play for them what I think they would LOVE but haven't paid attention to yet...how wonderful when music connects us all, regardless of age, gender or whatever else made up to divide.
Moby's Play is a game changer in the field of electronic/sample-based music. It barely made any impact when it was first released in 1999 but eventually it went on to sell a gazillion copies. It would've been a great loss if it remained obscure
I saw them in Birmingham, Alabama. I was next to the stage & as the last song ended, while the dancing girlies were there looking around blankly and panting, I was grabbing the set list off the stage.
@@weirdelf8604 Its the same with Nardwuar .He gives away valuable records to whoever he is interviewing. And i bet that most don`t even own a deck and know the value of what they are holding....
@@skawashers Of course it's always good to keep a fair share of weary skepticism to any segment or show set up in an interview and or TV-like fashion, but I really wouldn't bang on this one as being totally faked for entertainment purposes. They're plenty of episodes of this series where the interviewees only grab CDs due to lack of a player for LPs or grab a variety of LPs, CDs, books, DVDs, cassettes, etc and even further of some grab only a handful of items versus some going all out Christmas shopping it feels like haha. Amobea if I remember correctly gives them either discounts or gift cards for these segments obviously so there's some behind the scenes magic I suppose, but if the artist is presenting whatever record or book or what have ya, than they most definitely bought it and or have an interest in it. Cheers
Because that is all the used vinyl Amoeba has. It is an awesome store, and I love going there, and they have great new vinyl, but good used stuff is in people's houses.
Now I can see where the chill vibes from Jungle comes, they both seem to have grown on very happy families
LISTEN TO MORE JUNGLE
Mazin Omer lol beat me to it

Underrated
Late Nite Tuff Guy is the best. I have all his edits.
It's the kind of music (like Future sound of London) which I will only like a few tracks of, but I still want it to generally exist.

I wonder how many people in the interviews actually own a record deck. .......
A copious amount I'm sure

I don’t understand why they choose albums they already have?
Moby's Play? I stopped right there.
Do Marilyn Manson!
In the name of god why are their selections so middle of the road.
